Decided to get my hair done today by whim. Black and green. Honestly the experience was so good I am going to come back again. Diem did my coloring, she was very friendly and attentive to all my needs and suggestions. Her hair is super cute too! Since the process was super long, she didn't seem at all tired or annoyed with me. She took her time and made sure that everything looked good. Most of the time I have people rushing the color process because the wait time can be excruciating. The way she washes my hair make me truly appreciate her. She made sure that I was always in a comfortable position and took note on how I feel with my necked propped up. She also made sure that there was no dye residue on my ears or hidden areas around my face and neck! Judith at Judith B is an artistic genius! I went in knowing what I kind of wanted, and what my current pain points were with my hair. Judith listened to me, and even though it was my very first time there, she managed to give me exactly what I wanted and more! She gave my red hair a rich and varied look by applying 5 different colors in complementing shades to my hair, weaving them through artistically and then making sure they blended together naturally, leaving me with a beautiful and natural color. I also have curly hair, though I did not realize how curly it really was. All those years of curling my hair, spending time on expensive volume and root lifters and blow drying it painstakingly - Judith actually showed me how to work with my hair instead of fighting it and then trying to recreate it again. She suggested the proper haircare products, showed me how to use them, gave me tips about blowdrying and styling my hair, and so much more. And the cut itself is fabulous. She was able to quickly solve some of the issues I had with my hair. Simply fantastic. Judith is a haircare educator, and during our appointment, many of the other stylists came by to observe as she imparted bits of wisdom. I love seeing a salon that stresses education and cutting edge techniques. The salon itself has a great vibe - comfortable and friendly. They offer you a drink menu with several different types of naturally flavored water and other drinks. So nice to get a custom made glass of strawberry infused water. Judith is simply incredible! Ok, I am a guy. I didn't have extentions or crazy things done to my hair. I went to see her and she took the time to ask me what I really wanted. I never considered it before. So after discussing and showing her some "looks" using my cell phone, she set to work. Let me just tell you I am 38 and very gray on both sides and the back of my head. The Gray is GONE. The cut is EXACTLY what I wanted. I literally feel like I have lost 10 years. Its amazing. I never thought that a simply cut and color would make this big of a difference to me. This place is truly a GEM! I've had a few OUIDAD cuts, & of course plenty bad cut after that. After searching I decided to go to Judith B for the Ouidad experience. Prior this visit, my hair was damaged beyond repair. I thought 1 cut will not correct this damage nor will I see a big difference. Wrong!! My hair looks gr8! This salon does it all. Facials, massages, & cuts. I also added a color boost to my microbladed eyebrows. & it turned out better than I expected. Thanks Nic & Nia! Also, thanks Judith for reassuring me I was in gd hands. While our stylist was a pleasant person, our results were not what we had asked for and we did not feel comfortable going back to get it fixed at no charge. We opted to go elsewhere. After speaking with the owner who stated that returning to the salon was our only option for recourse, she begrudgingly offered half our money back along with a long message about how we were wrong. And I wasn't the easiest person to satisfy, but satisfied I was with her color works and cut. I came into Judith B one evening last week because my new, very short post-chemo hair was starting to look pretty disheveled and I had a wedding coming up and wanted to feel my best. Judith squeezed me in between clients, and did a great job shaping my very short hair (honestly I didn't even know if anybody could do anything to improve it) to make it into a real hairstyle. It no longer looks like random hair growth, but an actual, purposeful hairstyle. I've even gotten a few compliments from strangers on my "cute pixie cut." Judith was also very kind and sweet! I saw Rita for a balayage and a haircut and she was great. It was my first time ever getting my hair colored and she was so sweet. She made sure I liked the color and when I asked if it could be a little darker she was super nice about it. She made sure I like the color and the length of the hair. The balayage turned out super pretty and I wouldn't hesitate to come back and get my hair done by Rita again. Scheduling online was also super easy and everything was safe and clean. Ive honestly been thinking about whether or not to post this review for a couple of days now but I feel it would be of diservice to others by not. I had an appointment with Judith last week the day before Christmas Eve. I had contemplated and searched for a place all week before my appointment. Ultimately I went with Judith B because she seemed to have good reviews and was offering a yelp promo for $100 service for $80. I just had a baby not that long ago and money was tight around Christmas but getting my hair done was something I wanted done for months and through a bonus at work was able to afford it. I explained my idea of what I wanted which involved a one color process and cut. Judith darkened my hair from a faded red to a dark brown solid color. She also cut 2-3 inches off. All in all the process took about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. Everything went well until it came to leave and the receptionist said I owed $197. I was appalled. Literally sick to my stomach. With the $100 certificate I purchased I figured I would owe a little bit but never did I imagine I would owe another $100. Never in my life have I spent that much on simple cut and color in my life. Though I was satisfied with the results I must say I have thought about the experiance several times since it happened. Im sure some of you can relate to being a mother who has a limited amount of money to set aside for herself to do something nice and I dont want anyone else to be con'd the way I felt I was. I felt as though those prices should have been disclosed up front or at least discussed with me. BUYER BEWARE! For a salon that has only been open a year they are charging an arm a leg for their services and claiming to be a affordable salon that carries afordable product for people like me. That is not the case. She even got that $20 I had saved on yelp back by charging me a $25 extra color fee because she said I had thick hair. My hair is no where near thick and I felt I was only charged that because I was using the yelp coupon. I wish of could have wrote a different review about how pleasant my experience was but instead im left with the sting of a $200 hair appointment. read more

I got a Cezanne keratin treatment a few weeks ago by Allie. This is everything a keratin is supposed to be ! Dont waste your time and money on the less expensive ones. Keratin is a time consuming process and I have a lot of hair but Allie worked quickly and got me out in a reasonable amount of time.She's also very fun and friendly ! I set up an appointment with Nic and I don't think I'll let anyone else but her handle my hair. She is really cool and fun to be around. She gave me the best haircut I've ever had that I had to change my review on the last salon I went to lol (just the best haircut part, they still got 5 stars from me.) The best salon in Elmhurst - hands down. All the stylist are extremely talented and advise you of trendy colors and styles to sport. The salon has all sorts of wrap around services from Brazilian straighteners to makeup. Not to mention that Judith partners with lots of area establishments for brows, tans, nails, etc. Once you sit in her styling chair, she listens to your hair "wish" in a patient and endearing manner. Once I wanted to try a bold new hair color, and she reasonably explained to me that it would cause breakage and be difficult to maintain healthy. I could have ignored her advice, but she offered two other alternatives to look good and save me the saga of hair breakage. It turned out better than I expected. I still receive plenty compliments to date. And I saved lots of money. Definitely not greedy stylist that would set you up with the style-treatment- intensive repair-and weep cycle. The prices are great, so I tip more than usual for their time and care. Only the best products are sold here to make styling your hair easier and hassle-free. Jenny has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 5 years. She recently moved to this salon and even though it is a long drive for me, I gladly followed her. Honestly, I would follow jenny anywhere. I have colored my hair darker for almost my entire adult life. Recently I decided to make a big change and go much lighter.
