I chose Spavia Elmhurst after doing a lot of research and being willing to spend extra for what I expected would be a high-quality, relaxing massage. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the most disappointing spa experiences I've had. I booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage with the scalp oil and Hypervolt add-ons. Neither add-on was performed... my scalp was never touched and no massage gun was used though I was initially charged for both (they were only refunded after I reached out). The massage itself felt rushed and incomplete. Most areas of my body were barely worked on, and I left still in pain. When I got up, I noticed the digital wall clock in the room had been partially covered with a towel.. specifically, only the minutes portion was covered. I later realized the session had ended about 5-10 minutes early. Management later claimed that covering the clock is standard practice for guest comfort, but that explanation does not make sense. The clock was not bright at all, and there was a much brighter light left on in the corner of the room the entire time. If a digital clock is supposedly too bright and distracting, then it would make more sense to use a standard wall clock or not have a visible clock at all. Partially covering only the minutes, the part that tells you exactly how much time is left... felt like a very shady business practice rather than a comfort measure. I was also told afterward that my massage was shortened because I arrived late. However, when I checked in, the front desk assured me they were able to push my appointment back and accommodate me so that I would still receive my full 60 minutes. At no point before or during the massage was I informed that my session would be cut short. Letting a guest believe they are getting their full service and then ending early without any communication feels unprofessional. When I contacted them about all of this, the only thing offered was a complimentary add-on for a future visit. but only if I book and pay for another full-price massage. After already spending over $220 and being this unhappy, I don't find it reasonable to be asked to come back and spend another $200 just to receive a small add-on for free. A partial or full refund for the actual massage would have been far more appropriate. I have since been ignored. Overall, this experience did not match the premium price at all. I left sore, stressed, and disappointed. I would not recommend Spavia Elmhurst based on this visit. read more

Got a very last minute appointment for a facial, easy parking in downtown Elmhurst. So impressed with the aesthetic and cleanliness of the spa . Hygiene is very important to me along with the services. Caroline in the front helped me get an appointment and I got a new customer discount as well with my treatment. I got the oxygen facial it's different here but esthetician Tarin was excellent and very good. I will be back again!highly recommend!! read more

My husband got me a giftcard for Spavia for Mother's Day and I used it on a 60 minute sports massage. I was blown away by my experience at Spavia. Booking was easy (I did it online), and you feel pampered every step of the way. After you're checked in you're walked into a locker room where you can change into a bath robe and slippers. From there you can sit in a lounge with a heated neck pillow while you await your massage therapist. My massage therapist was Gogo. She did a wonderful job and accommodated all of my requests. She even gave me suggestions on how to stretch for the troubles I was having. After you're done, you have access to showers to get cleaned up and continue relaxing. They also offer memberships for monthly massages which I think I"m going to get soon! I'll definitely be back. read more

I cancelled my membership after being a member at this spa for nearly 2 years. I could no longer support the racism present, fostered by the owner. Mostly, I purchased massages. Over my time there, excellent Black and brown massage therapists would quit, citing mistreatment from the manager. I never got anything but excellent treatment from these therapists. The fact that they could not be treated fairly led me to vote with my dollar and leave this facility. read more

I had waxing services yesterday at the Elmhurst location. My aesthetician was Sabrina. She did a fabulous job. She wax my eyebrows. They were absolutely perfect and she even fill them and she also wax my upper lip , chin and under arms, it was all done perfectly. She even used her tool to get any hair out that didn't come out when she wax because it was too short. Very happy with the service. I will be back. Definitely recommend Sabrina. read more

I found out about Spavia because I had a prenatal massage gift card. I received the 80 min massage with Latoya and it was amazing. I was extremely comfortable and relaxed the entire time and Latoya was able to work out the knots and relieve tension in the areas that have been bothering me. I haven't had a massage in years, and I'm not a huge massage person, so my experience is limited, but I have had enough and some fancy ones. I got a 60 min signature massage. My massage therapist was amazing. The place is nice but I have a couple of things I didn't like: the room was way too cold. I don't like too much heat, but I was legit cold. And my therapist's hands would get cold every time she paused for a minute (not her fault, just saying it's cold). The bed was warm so it was overall ok. The light was too bright. Dimmed but not nearly enough. She did offer my an eye cover when I was on my back so that was nice. Overall a good experience. I recommend this place. read more

We had an 80min couples massage and facials, our massage therapist were awesome!!! I really appreciated being given paperwork ahead of time to find out what we wanted things like what kind of music, do you prefer your therapist doesn't speak during the massage or when you initiate conversation, what kind of oil do you prefer, your shoe size for your slippers, etc.... I have been a member of Spavia since it opened in Dec 2019. For $59 a month, I receive either an excellent facial or a fantastic massage. Each are a full 60 minutes, none of that ridiculous 10 minutes of prep time (sometimes more) that some places have, cutting your 60 minutes to 50 or less. Beautiful place. Really nice amenities. Katie was my tiny masseuse and still gave me an incredible deep tissue massage. I had a wax 7 days ago, I have had this service before at other salons with no issues but this time I was left with raw patches on my skin. Literally ripped raw. I was looking for a massage, and received so much more. Spa is right! From the moment I walked into Spavia Day Spa in Elmhurst -- the sights, scents, and sounds created a sense of peace and calm. There was no skimping on this new buildout by West Robbins. Premium materials abound-- from the waiting lounge to the dressing room and showers, to the treatment rooms. Sounds of a soothing water feature, and sights of flickering candles, and a soothing fireplace greeted me in the waiting lounge, and a dreamy soft robe and sandals ... both in my size... were waiting for me in the luxurious dressing room. Before going into the women's lounge I was asked for my preferences of scent and sound experience. When I moved from the beautiful waiting lounge to my treatment room I could smell the orange blossom scent I'd requested, and heard the sounds of the ocean that I'd chosen. Spavia is on par with spa experiences (that I've too rarely had the pleasure to enjoy) such as Lake Austin Spa in Austin, Texas, and Ladera in the West Indies. No, there is no body of water once you leave, but while I was there the experience transported me to those places of peace. read more

I found a warm neck pillow in the retreat room and relax in a comfy chair for a few minutes before my massage. I had a hot stone massage and it made my tired muscles relax and feel so much better! One of my favorite parts was that I could select what I wanted to listen to during the massage and I chose the ocean breeze sounds which just added to the experience. I was very happy when I learned a Spavia was opening in Elmhurst at the end of 2019 - this place is just what Elmhurst (or I?) needed! I purchased a premier membership before opening day in December and I just went for my third massage today. I love the benefit of the membership, it makes it fun to try different types of massages and different masseuses. I still need to check out the skincare treatments, which are also part of the membership. The facility is very clean, the staff very welcoming, and the relaxation room is very relaxing. I could sit in there for hours and get lost in the adult coloring books if I didn't have to be anywhere! Other nice touches include the choice of music, scent of massage oil, tea, etc - and I love that they keep track of your preferences in their system. True customer service! Also ease of payment (I don't have to bring anything with me, can just add to the card on file) and a nice little app for easy online booking.
