Luckily, this doctor that I'm writing a review on took in patients with this type of insurance. Not many doctors did or still do. Well, I really didn't like her even when I went to her under my mom's insurance. I stayed with her because she was a familiar face who is near my mom's working place. Throughout my visits, I've noticed that she became less caring. I feel like she's more into money rather than actually trying to help patients. Even my mom agrees. The past few visits, I've noticed that she didn't listen to what I had to say. After every visit, I felt frustrated. I also began not trusting her. I know, i know, why didn't I leave a long time ago? I should have but she was there and she was the only one that I knew who took in my insurance. Anyway, today, I decided to visit her so that she can refer me to a dermatologist. I have a skin tag that is painful when touched. So this is what she tells me. Doc: "Do you know how hard it will be to find a dermatologist who accepts QUEST? That's a lot of hard work and I don't have time to search for one." Me: "Okay, so what do I do?" Doc: "What I want you to do is buy duct tape, if you don't have, and put a piece of duct tape on the skin tag. Pull it like you would if you were waxing" Me: "Okay....." and in my head I thought "is she *swear* crazy? I am not going to *swear* rip my skin tag with duct tape. What a *swear* lazy doctor" Doc:" I'm not gonna refer you to a dermatologist until you try it and it doesn't work" REALLY? REALLY? WTFudge! All I have to say is BUH BYE!

Between 2017 and 2019, I had expander surgery and two revision procedures. Unfortunately, despite multiple surgeries, I was deeply unhappy with the results. Following my last revision in 2019, I met with my surgeon to discuss my concerns. After examining me, he told me, "You just need to lose weight. Then the implants will look better." I was devastated. Before my cancer diagnosis, I had always been healthy and taken great pride in my physical well-being. After enduring chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and years of reconstruction surgeries, hearing that my concerns were simply a matter of weight was heartbreaking. The experience left me struggling with my confidence and sense of self. In late 2025, my husband encouraged me to seek a second opinion. Reluctantly, I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Christopher Tokin. From the beginning, Dr. Tokin listened to my concerns and believed he could improve my reconstruction. After three previous surgeries with disappointing results, I was skeptical but hopeful. In February 2026, Dr. Tokin performed what I can only describe as a miracle. The results exceeded every expectation I had. For the first time since my cancer journey began, I felt like I had regained a part of my old self. The reconstruction is beautiful and natural-looking--exactly what I had hoped for all along. Since then, I have lost 30 pounds and feel like I have a completely new lease on life. While the physical transformation has been incredible, the emotional impact has been even greater. Dr. Tokin restored not only my appearance, but also my confidence and quality of life. I am profoundly grateful for Dr. Tokin and often wonder if he realizes just how much he changed my life. He is one of the kindest, most compassionate, and humble physicians I have ever met. If you are struggling with the results of a breast reconstruction or wondering whether improvement is possible, I strongly encourage you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Tokin. Even if you've been told to accept your outcome, don't give up hope. I am living proof that a skilled and caring surgeon can make all the difference.

I had an unfortunate accident while changing my clothes after a workout. This happened back in February 2024. My middle earring piercing on my right ear has always been low. It's something that I'd actually been meaning to have fixed one day. Unfortunately, because the piercing sat so low on my earlobe, the threshold for an earring to tear through was small. It finally happened, so I was researching where to get it fixed. I didn't want to go to an ER or urgent care, and I'm not sure they would have been willing to fix it since technically it's a cosmetic procedure. Insurance wise, it's not considered medically necessary to have fixed--especially since it had stopped bleeding fairly quickly. I also didn't want a rushed job. I called around to a few plastic surgeon offices, but they were all booked weeks out or required a consult (not free) before scheduling a separate procedure. I wanted this fixed asap, as I didn't want the tear to heal incorrectly. Thankfully I found Golden Dermatology on yelp, sent an email with a photo of my ear, and they were able to schedule me the next day! Getting a next day appointment with any physician is pretty miraculous. They gave a flat rate of $500 for the earlobe repair, which was a fair price based on my google research. It seems steep, initially, for an hour of work. In hindsight, for the amount of staff that assisted from start to finish, the surgical materials, lidocaine, and overall expertise, it is a fair price. I appreciate that they gave a flat price right off the bat, instead of having to come in for a consult unsure of what the price would be, then having to schedule a separate procedure. Some offices charge $150 just to consult for what is technically a cosmetic procedure (I was told they do normally charge for consult for things like Botox/fillers). I filled out my paperwork beforehand and emailed it back. Wait time was just a few minutes before being seen. I was consented, and they performed the procedure right away. I got lidocaine injections given by who I assume was a nurse? There were quite a few people helping. Dr. Rhoutt performed the procedure, with the assistance of other staff and a medical student. I thought Dr. Rhoutt did really well with my procedure. The only part I could really feel were the lidocaine injections, and even then, it just felt like two light pinches. After the first two shots, my ear went numb, and I never felt anything after. You can feel the pressure, but no pain. They had to cut away dead tissue, cauterize (burn) the skin, then suture it together. I felt like the sutures were very well done. Fast forward to now (accident happened Feb 2024). I waited several months (per their instruction) before I repierced my ear. There is no visible scarring from the sutures. Very glad I came here to get my earlobe repaired!

I saw Dr. Harris who I have to say was excellent. He took care of my broken foot and also injected my knee and my hip and solved some other issues. However, my broken foot was extremely painful. I took pain medication as per prescribed, I do not like pain medication so I tried to not take it as much as possible. However, at the beginning my foot was so painful I could not put any pressure on it or sleep however, when I needed more pain medication this office completely ignored me. I called several times and I was told someone would get back to me and they never did. I was without medication for an entire week and almost had to go to the emergency room, I just laid in my bed and waited it out until somebody called me one week later! When I told Dr. Harris what was happening he apologized. However, this same scenario repeated itself a month later I wanted to come in and get an injection in my foot so that I would not need any more medication, but I could not get an appointment and I also was having a lot of trouble walking, I called the office and asked for some pain medication and an appointment. They would not refill my prescription unless I came. I was ready willing and able to come in but I could not get an appointment! Then the doctor was going on vacation so I asked if I could at least get something to get me through the week so I could work and then I would come in. No answer. Then the doctor came back from vacation and I tried to get into see him but I could not get an appointment. I asked to speak to him on the phone and they said they would call me back and they didn't. He also told me to message him through the portal which I did, now it is Friday and I couldn't bear to go another weekend without any medication to help me walk. I messaged him in the portal. They read the message at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and no one ever got back to me. So here it is another weekend where I will have to lie in my bed because I cannot walk without pain. This is nothing short of malpractice, and I am disgusted with this office and their lack of communication. I saw another doctor in this orthopedic group several years ago for another broken bone and she was amazing. She always called me back when I called and she checked up on me after surgery. If I was in pain, she gave me advice and told me what to do prescribing whatever I needed in addition to physical therapy. As I said , Dr. Harris is technically very good and he seems to be a very nice guy, but his talents are wasted in an office with little to no communication. I will be finding another orthopedic doctor.
