While there my experience was great and though I anticipated the pain, when we left I was not concerned. After an hour when I said my area was still hot my doctor friend, whose appointment I joined, said that was strange. We inspected and found that several strips of my skin was removed. The next day I returned to Toronto and called Accent on Beauty, they refused to return my money and offered me an in store credit, despite me saying that I did not live in Ottawa. At the time I was calling while waiting at a walk-in clinic and the owner Darlene (?) said that I would have to return to Ottawa to verify that it was her salon's mistake and not something I have done. When I offered to show her a photograph she also said that would not confirm that I did not mutilate my own crotch. I was stunned that this woman would not credit me $30 and implied that I may have intentionally ripped my skin off my body. I am part Asian and my skin scars dark. The effected area is at the seam of my pubic area and my leg and I have had to sit wide legged and lubricated with polysporon to help the skin grown back. This is the complete opposite of the sexy that i thought I would feel and will last way longer than the wax job. After all this, and all I will continue to deal with as I heal and treat my new darkened crease, I was only offered a credit to my account that I cannot even fulfill as I live in Toronto.

There are many "medical cosmetic" clinics around and unfortunately, so many are focused on quantity/selling without providing proper assessments and or delivery of appropriate services. This clinic is not like others-staff is professional, knowledgeable and the addition of two physicians who also deliver services and can deal with complications should they occur is very reassuring. Where things went off the rails and why my review plummets was due to the communication I received from this place after my review. I had expressed 2 levels of disappointment with their foot massage . First is wasn't 'deep' despite the description of 'deep rhythmic massage' on their website and second because the esthetician maintained a very light pressure after I twice told her should could go much deeper. The 'deep, rhythmic massage' never happened. They sent me an email asking me to change the review, blaming my disappointment on my misinterpretation of 'deep rhythmic foot massage' and explaining that of course it meant was 'deeply relaxing'. They said a lot of other stuff, but the result is that I feel gaslit and feel they were trying to shame me for giving an honest review. They have now updated the website to eliminate the wording of 'deep rhythmic' from their foot massage description. I have a screenshot of that earlier version. So, I have in fact changed my review from a 3 to a one and would give them a zero for customer service if I could. No customer should be made to feel this way.

Got my hair washed then was silently walked over to a chair. The person that washed by hair didn't even bother to comb it before the stylist showed up. When the stylist showed up he asked "So, how much are we taking off?"... Ummm.... did you not look at the booking? We are just drying my hair here. No body to the blow-out, and so many fly-aways that he didn't try to tame. Save your cash for another establishment that will actually make you feel welcomed and pay attention to details!

Their tools were clean and so was the entire salon. This was my first manicure since I was 14 years old and I am now 28 so yes it has been a very long time. LOL! I was very happy with how my manicure turned out. The colours I picked were called Emerald lights and sir teal to you. These two colours gave my nails a sort of mermaid look which I absolutely love! The salon is clean, bright, and organized nicely in a row. I love nail spots like this where you can sit next to your friend, rather than the ones where you can't sit together and you're at more spread out stations. I didn't need anything special. I was in a bind and needed my Shellac polish removed. In many other places this is something that can cost way more than it should, but I was so thankful to find that it was only $7.00 here. Perfect. Totally reasonable. It was a Saturday, and I was expecting to have to wait since I didn't have an appointment, but to my (very pleasant) surprise, they were able to see me right away. My visit was quick, cost effective, and efficient. I would go back again if I'm in the area, for sure!
