It definitely put me in the holiday 'mood' and has an uplifting ending! The story rapidly progresses and the time just flew by, even though it was two hours long! :) Over the years I have been to 2nd Space Theatre multiple times and each performance that I have been fortunate to attend, has been top-notch! Usually PERFECTLY cast too! The plays that they choose to perform are family friendly, which is why I like to support them. It is a small theater, but that's the beauty of it. The creativity with props, lighting and costumes never ceases to amaze me. For what they have to work with, it's amazing what they can pull off. This is the first time I have gone, where they have offered us SEAT CUSHIONS! I recommend them too! Guess why! ;) At intermission, they sell a variety of candy bars, water, cookies, coffee, and cocoa. All of it is about two dollars each. You cannot take food or drinks into the theater, with the exception of bottled water. You can park directly across the street in the east side of the Dollar Tree parking lot, or near the Chinese restaurant / Health food store area and walk east. I consider what they offer our city as a 'gift'. Fresno truly has some GREAT local talent!

We got to go to a phenomenal performance of The Buddy Holly Story on a Saturday Night, and we were thoroughly entertained! Seriously...our lil' group-a preteen boy, a lady in her 40's, and one in her 80's- all equally sitting and enjoying a memorable night! That's just magic! We were honored to see Daniel Montgomery's Roger Rocka's Debut, as we have enjoyed seeing him in Bear Stage Productions. My son even got to talk with super talented, Danny after the show! He was Buddy Holly in every sense. Tremendous singing and guitar playing! The entire cast, with musical, dancing, and acting was committed 100% to the characters, and drew the audience in. It moved me. I smiled, laughed, sang along, tapped my feet, shimmied my shoulders, and even teared up. Kudos to the director, Mark Standriff, who I also got the pleasure to meet and talk with following the show. Okay, let's talk the food and service- top notch! The bread and salads were fresh and plentiful! The bruschetta was like a party in your mouth, and the entrees were delicious! In our group we ordered the Grilled Flat Iron Steaks and the Vegetarian Zucchini Rollatini. Ample portions, fantastic textures, and flavors were on point! (See the attached pictures for the full effect). Our table service was flawless, and all the servers were accommodating and attentive! One of the best moments was at the start when our table was surprised by the announcement of us being there- it was my son's first time, and the spotlight shone on him. He has such a love for theatre and had even gotten the chance to be in an production with Buddy Holly himself, Danny, in the Wizard of Oz. The night meant the world to our son, and the talents of all were entertaining and inspiring. The visit as a whole was beautiful, and I highly recommend not just seeing this production, but also coming here for future ones! You'll feel like you traveled to a new destination, and you will have an experience you will not forget. Thank you, thank you to Roger Rocka's Dinner Theatre- you rock!

I didn't know that and my friends and I were not allowed to sit together. This was our first time here and we were excited. We ended up spending $300 with dinner for two plus the dessert and two drinks (each). We also had 2 extra cocktail and an upcharge for getting a filet mignon vs the skirt steak or other options available. The cocktails were amazing and definitely the best thing we had. The dessert and appetizer tied for second, followed by the entree. Unfortunately both of our steaks (along with the table next to us) were way overcooked. This is a catered dinner so nothing is cooked to order- you should know that as well. That means everything is warm vs hot and not as fresh as we may prefer it. However, given the venue, it's understandable why. No points were docked for that. ;) Service was great (thanks, Sarah!)

Anywho, the dude and I live around the corner from this place in which we arrived about 10 minutes before the show started. We got to pick our seats in which we sat in front and as those were the only seats available. It was a full house except for the front roll. The night we went was the first showing and surprisingly they didn't have any technical difficulties at the first show. My first time at this Clovis theatre and it was a pleasant experience. They had a red or pink carpet you could take pictures on. Entering the theater was very clean. The show was good on the border of not being family friendly as they had suggestive outfits and jokes I didn't feel was suitable for kids. The props were good and the acting...some acting didn't look natural but then again it must be hard work or a lot of people would be in such field. I would cringe as a lot of kids where present but mostly adults. I had a blast here and you can tell the cast enjoyed what they would do. They even got the audience involved at someone point. Definitely looking to see what more this theater has to offer.

This venue is obviously sketchy as hell & I would warn any local or touring bands to stay away... ALSO: I read another review that included allegations of SA & the venue hasn't even responded to THAT review so I doubt I'm going to hear back from the Tower Theatre or the offshoot Lounge (which is actually what I'm reviewing) $1 service fee on a $15 CASH cover for a show with FOUR LOCAL BANDS is insane. $2 bottled water with no option for free hydration at a place with a full bar IS INSANELY IRRESPONSIBLE. NO ins & outs except behind a tiny stanchion rope is A FIRE HAZARD AT MOST... & inconvenient as hell at the very least... also why are there no ins & outs AT A 21+ VENUE?! Are we in high school?! Honestly at times? It sure felt like it... especially when it comes to my next point: Criminally limited places to sit AT AN INDIE SHOW LOLLLLL.... There were exactly TWO tables & ONE chair.... yikes. This was a room full 50+ year olds... give them a damn chair? Flyer-ed for $12 adv & $15 door... I was expecting to pay $30 EVEN to the super RUDE door lady... alas.... I was told there was a service fee... on not ONE... but both $15 covers. Excuse me, what? I've gone to a lot of shows in my day... this is by far the worst venue I have ever visited. There as a sign on the bathroom (see photo lol... I'm not even joking) that read: "NO CELL PHONES, TEXTING, TWEETING, HECKLING, TALKING, CAMERAS, RECORDING DEVICES OF ANY KIND during the Show VIOLATORS WILL BE EJECTED NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN Thank You For Your Cooperation!" ARE KIDDING ME? Might as well have a sign that says "hi, we are the fresno tower theatre lounge & you will NOT have fun in here because you aren't allowed to, FUN costs $5 more plus a service fee of $11" OH BY THE WAY... like I said earlier about going to a lot of shows in my day? 1 guest spot per person in the band is fine... BUT NO DRINK TICKETS IS INSANE! My friend in the HEADLINING BAND had to pay $3 for a soda... his band was the ONLY reason your shitty venue even had people in there on a Sunday night my guys!!!! Ways to make this venue not shitty: Don't be greedy with the ticket prices Don't be greedy with the water Don't be greedy with the beer Don't be greedy with the SEATING!?! Don't be greedy with the way you treat the bands Just.... don't be greedy. Oh also... you don't need *that* much security like ever.... but esp for an indie show on a Sunday night & maybe consider having a staff that doesn't look like they are getting paid under minimum wage... but considering everything else I know about this venue? Maybe they are getting paid under minimum wage lol... PROS: sound was good -- great actually & I got to see my friends play CONS: literally everything else ‍ & unfortunately if any of my friends ever play at the Fresno Tower Theatre Lounge again? I won't be going to see them...
