Juice ranch has the best juice in Santa Barbara. It is not cheap (around $12) but $2 is refunded when you return the glass bottle. It is also made daily with fresh ingredients. I love the greens and ginger. They even make one with extra ginger. The immunity shots also do the job when you are feeling under the weather. The smoothies are also really yummy but I sometimes have a hard time justifying $10 for a smoothie. Juice Ranch is where its at! Im a regular and come in most mornings for my much needed Greens n Ginger before a big work day. I love interacting with the staff, they always know what I want as soon as I walk in the door! I have to say Im sad that they got rid of the Almond Joy.. The new cashew milks are good but its just not the same. Also, the store is very tiny and there are times when the line is out the door. Nice place & great concept. Got The Hulk smoothie & was extremely dissapointed. The cup was only 3/4 full & barely blended together. This smoothie has dates & there were two of them waiting for me at the bottom of the cup. It was an exercise in slurping through a clogged straw & them chewing the resulting chunky mixture. I love Juice Ranch! I work just down the street and find myself getting a juice, smoothie, or toast on the regular. The Scotty's mint chip smoothie is delicious, definitely one of my favorites. As far as juice goes I seem to always get the Greens and Ginger, Johnny 5 alive, endless farmer, jalapiña, and the apollo! I should branch out and try some others but I'm hooked on so many already. All the toasts are really yummy as well, "this is bananas" is my most recent favorite. The cashew cheez is amazing too. I have been a cold pressed juice drinker for many years. I've frequented many juice shops from Colorado and L.A. to the Pacific Northwest. I have never been sick or received a juice gone bad in all these many years...until I started at Juice Ranch. I live in Montecito, but drive into town regular and purchase many bottles at a time. I keep about a 3 day supply on hand. However, one day I opened a bottle of their juice and took a gulp without thinking there would be an issue. It was bad, my throat began burning immediately and has not stopped hurting for 2 days now! I don't know what kind of bacteria got into their juice, but it has an evil burn. What's worse is when I told the owner, she refunded my money, but was unapologetic and short. When asked if this sort of thing happened often she admitted that it can occur when the juice prep room gets too hot or if they get a batch of nuts that have bacteria. Really??? You know that the room temp can cause bacteria laden batches and you haven't made it a priority to keep the prep room at temps that would inhibit excess bacteria growth?!?! At Juice Ranch pricing, it's the least you can do to protect your customers! Not only was she unapologetic, but she bordered on rude. I rarely write or say anything negative, but I am so disappointed in the entire experience that I could not go without letting people know. Smell your juice before you drink it and if you get a bad batch and a bacterial issue in your throat, don't expect even the slightest bit of kindness from the folk at Juice Ranch. They definitely lost a loyal customer. I won't be supporting or promoting their new location in my neighborhood. Rather than spending money on expanding new locations, they may want to invest in better room-cooling equipment for their prep rooms. Highly disappointed. read more

Best juice place I have ever tried, and probably ever will. I really can taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients and the freshness of the final product. Such refreshing juices, they always make me feel better! I love all of the juices I've tried here! Some of my favorites are: Greens n Ginger, Island Bunny, Coco la ti da, Love Potion No. 9, Jalapina and Endless Farmer! They are a little more expensive than what I usually pay for juices, but you definitely get what you pay for, amazing quality. Only suggestion I would give Juice Ranch is maybe change the plastic cap on the bottle because it can get really messy (especially in the car). LOVE LOVE LOVE! :) read more

I found Juice Ranch after reading a recommendation in Goop and I have to say I do really like it and is a fun way to treat yo' self. My two favorite juices here are "Endless Farmer" of watermelon, lemon, mint and chia and "Strawberry Pearl" of cashew, strawberries, honey, pearl powder, and Himalayan pink salt. Bonus, use your Axxess card to get BOGO one time. It is quite pricey so I don't go as often as I want. I usually end up drinking a whole one but I could see making some amazing mimosas with "Ruby Red" or "Endless Farmer". read more

This place in my opinion is so overpriced. Today I found out that the juice you're buying isn't necessarily made that day. She said they have a four day shelflife and are shipped in. Uuugghhh! I don't understand why they can't make them in the store and on the spot. Or at least serve juice that is made the day you buy it. It's not OK with me to sell juice at the price you do that may have been sitting around for three or four days. I think I'll just keep going to whole foods and lazy acres where you can watch it be juiced. Please also teach your employees some customer service skills. I have searched far and wide for a smoothie bar that includes homemade nut milks in the ingredients. I finally found this at juice ranch! They have Paleo treats, and of course fresh pressed juices. They also have an amazing coffee on tap with coconut oil, which is the creamiest coffee blend I've ever tasted! We spoke with the owner, and he was super friendly, as well as were the other staff working that day. Santa Barbara is very lucky to have this little gem downtown! this is a lovely, upscale juice and smoothie bar tucked away in a lovely side street far away from state street. note the use of the word upscale. this is a pricy establishment! the mister and i ordered one juice and one smoothie, and somehow that ended up being $20 and change. my juice, the JALAPIÑA (pineapple, cucumber, cilantro, mint, lime, jalepeño) was stellar, but the mister's smoothie, which was just some berry blend, was really just average. not only that, the serving size of the smoothie was so small. maybe half the size of the smoothie we had at paradise bowls in hermosa beach, and not nearly as creamy, refreshing or tasty. on another note, i saw quite a few vegan, gluten free treats for sale in the display case... read more

Absolutely love JR's juices. The greens + (extra) ginger is my favorite and hubby loves the Johnny Five Alive. The immunity shots are amazing! Today I tried their new avocado toast. I will order again, BUT, will request no sea salt. It was so salty that I threw half away and have felt a little yuck since. The lemon zest on top of the avo does plenty to bring out the rest of the flavors, so really the sea salt is not needed. read more

great juice and i love that they are in glass bottles not plastic. i also love that every day i got my juice it had just been pressed that morning (they only keep things on the shelf for 2 days max- but typically they sell out everyday so it's rare to have anything left over from the day before). i juice at home and i am big on fresh pressed juice. in my research i have read that the enzymes and nutrients in fresh pressed juiced begin to break down immediately- so that a juice drank right after pressing is very different nutritionally than a juice pressed 3 days ago (and most juice places will keep things on the self for 3-5 days) i had all the green drinks that had no added sugar (fruit) in them. i especially loved the liver detoxifier. i tried some of the milks and they were too sweet for me :( my husband liked them though. wish they made at least one milk that was only sweetened with a little bit of date for those who are not into sugar bomb nut milks :p only complaint is i think ginger should be offered for free for those who want a touch in their drink. they charge $2 extra for ginger which is over the top. 50 cents maybe but $2? i guess on other complaint is that when you pay with a credit or debit card a screen pops up asking for a tip and recommending 20%, 15% or 10%. i used to be a server and i get the value of tips. but when someone just pulls a juice out of a cooler and hands it to me- i don't think it warrants a tip. perhaps having an option where if you want to put a tip you can would be better than forcing everyone to move through the tip screen first before you can sign your bill? just a thought. (and i did tip- which i would do on my own without being asked- but i give a couple bucks not 20% of the bill). i often travel with my juicer but this trip we were in a hotel with no kitchen so i found the nearest juice place- which was juice ranch- and was there every morning to pick up my greens for the day. grateful this place exists! will definitely be back when i am in SB again read more

Waiting for a smoothie at Juice Ranch is like ".....Waiting for Godot " I like the products but having to re-park your car so you don't get a ticket, should not be on the menu. Especially if you got a good parking place close by in a 15 min zone then had to re-park in a busy public parking lot further awSeems to me management might want to hire an extra person to keep up with the sandwiches and smoothies made to order, as well as the ready to go juices. Update: I really do love the juices here. I personally think they are the best in town. And their turmeric chocolate chip cookies are off the charts. The avo-sauerkraut sandwich on oat bread is delicious. But getting back to the smoothies, the time I waited for paint to dry, I mean my smoothie to be made, I had found a parking space right across the street from the shop in the 15 min zone. After waiting 25 min I had to move my car - to the public parking lot closest to the shop. It just really shouldn't take that long to make a smoothie when there's no line. After re-parking, my car, I had to wait another 5 minutes before it was ready. So I paid for my $10. Smoothie and left only to find that once again, there was protein powder in a big round lump when I got to the bottom of my smoothie. It's a delicious Berry smoothie with a hint of mint but for ten dollars I expect for it to at least be thoroughly mixed. Each time I've gone back, I've had the same situation at the bottom of the glass. I will go back to Juice Ranch for the juices, the cookies and the avo sandwich when I'm not on the clock myself and have more time. Parking gets pretty full there with Lily's tacos next door, Yoga soup and SB Roasting co nearby, along with a bevy of other charming small town businesses that make the area perfect for one-stop shopping. I'm not a tourist with a ton of time on my hands but a local with a busy work schedule who would prefer to spend her money on creative local business ventures like Juice Ranch, than on a smoothie from the far more convenient Starbucks. read more

I regularly juice at home so when I'm out traveling I like to find a juice shop to get my healthy fix. This place was quite pricey, though not too surprising given it's Santa Barbara. I got the green juice and it was good tasting, much like the juice I make at home. I like that they have an incentive for bringing back the glass bottles to be re-used. Delicious fresh juices and super cute little store. I am a fan! One star off because it is so expensive, but worth the occasional splurge for detoxing. They charge an extra $2 for a bottle deposit which can add up if you buy a lot of juice and are from out of town because you probably won't be back to return the bottles. They have an extensive selection of juices from detoxing greens, rich and creamy almond milk to refreshing fruit blends - everyone can find a juice that they like. I arranged a group tour for a wedding party and was welcomed by Erin, the owner. She is a beautiful, warm girl with a passion for juice and dedicated to her shop and customers. We ordered 6 different juices and all were knock your socks off good. Everyone in the group really loved the almond milk, but my faves were the traditional greens juice and the beet juice. Small but cute little place tucked away off a side street. I came for juice and was happy to find they had them in glass bottles pre made. I hate going to juice places only to find out they put them in plastic bottles. Nothing worse than that. Also ordered a vegan cupcake with icing made with beet juice. My kids liked it. I did not. But that's fine, im not vegan. So I wasn't expecting to like it. Apparently you can return the bottles and get two dollars back. Great juice. Had the green #2 and it was spicy and tangy and so full of sharp goodness running through my system. It felt like a shock to my system in the best way possible. This place is out of this world. Cold pressed juice with fresh local organic produce. My favorite flavors: Greens and EXTRA ginger :), Johnny 5 Alive (great with tequila actually), Yoda, Ensalada and Strawberry Pearl. If you're a little under the weather their Immunity Shot is fab too. I've tried the other juices in town or from Whole Foods but they don't compare-- plus they are pasteurized which means you loose most of the good nutrients. So even though their prices might seem on the higher end, you are really paying for quality and they're SOOOO worth it! The owners are kind and you can tell they really care about health and wellness. I love that they really stick to their values and don't lower their quality standards by switching to a cheap plastic bottle. You do pay $2 for a deposit but you get it back and it not only helps saves the planet, it tastes better. Staff is great too. They now have smoothies too (Berry Grown Up and the Hulk are my faves) which they serve out of compostable cups. read more
