Care quality is good! But I don't like the facility and the food sucks! I will never have my mother go there ever again..

They didn't say excuse me, or acknowledge our existence. Then there was another Nurse that came in and she said, and I quote, "You need to put on gowns or you need to leave!" Instead she could have been a bit nicer and said, I'm sorry, but I need you guys to put on gowns for your own safety. But she was rude instead. I also did not like the fact that the nurse that came in to give my grandfather medication used a syringe that had been sitting on a food tray in water. Way to be sanitary. Very disappointed and also looking to transfer my grandfather.

Absolutely horrible!…read more My mother was transferred from Lutheran Hospital for a 6-week IV antibiotic treatment for a staph infection. The staff immediately insisted that she be placed on force-feeding due to loss of appetite. When I and my family declined, her case manager informed us she would need to be transferred to hospice after only 3-weeks, and there was nothing else they could do for her. The staff were neglectful, and did not treat a single aspect of my mother's care with any sense of urgency. She was left unattended for hours on end, restrained to her bed, and forced to remain in urine soaked sheets causing her to develop painful diaper rash which went untreated until I confronted her case manager about the extremely poor level of care. After making my complaint things improved only slightly, and then a week later I was told by the case manager that there was nothing more they could do for my mother, and that we should make arrangements to move her to hospice care. My mother suffers from dementia, and clearly Select Specialty has zero experience or desire to treat anyone who's care needs exceed the narrow scope of their abilities. I would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.

The staff on all levels (CNA, nurses, kitchen team to case manager) they are all hard-working, and very good at their position... -- BUT... the downside is: you will feel like you are in prison from their isolation policy for all new patients (no visitors, or leaving your room for the the first few DAYS) to the food choices (you will want your own groceries) Many people have commented about these two things especially. In addition, you can hear other patients challenges from your room/zero sound proofing-- that part is terrible!! The call button system to have assistance in your room is like a clanging alarm, and sounds all day long through the hallways - again, not updated, and intrusive to others. The decor is all beige/older/70s style, and very depressing. Just know you have to be very strong-minded, pray a lot to the good LoRD, and everyday you will wonder how quick you can get out of here- sad to say. The things I have mentioned are definitely items I wish I had known about -- BEFORE making a decision on where to receive extended care. Ask your questions, folks, and try to visit the hospital ahead of placement. God bless your journey!!

The entire team, from nursing to therapy, exceeded my expectations in every way. The nursing staff demonstrated unwavering dedication, kindness, and professionalism. Their attentiveness and expertise alleviated any concerns, making my stay truly comfortable. The therapy team - physical, occupational, and speech - was phenomenal! Their tailored programs and supportive guidance enabled remarkable progress, surpassing my goals. Each therapist's passion for their work was evident, and their collaborative approach ensured comprehensive care. What truly sets Kindred apart, however, is its visionary leadership. The positive changes implemented under their guidance are tangible and impressive. It's clear that the hospital is committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences. Kindred Rehabilitation Hospital has earned my highest recommendation. If you or a loved one requires rehabilitation care, look no further. This exceptional team will provide the support, expertise, and compassion needed for optimal recovery. *Highlights:* - Outstanding nursing care - Excellent physical, occupational, and speech therapy - Compassionate and knowledgeable staff - Effective leadership driving positive change Congratulations to Kindred Rehabilitation Hospital on their exceptional care and dedication!

In a 2025 Update I hope they have s room for me again as I'll need a place to stay for 8 or 9 days…read moreafter my Hip Replacement Surgery as they will be able to make sure my MRSA does not flair up. I stopped in the other Day and was happy to see some of the same staff that really helped me during my last stay review below. I had left a GOOGLE review but thought they would appreciate this one. I was embarrassed a bit as I remembered one of my favorite staffers an OT's name as she really helped me relearn how to walk. I forgot the name of a lady that helped me every day face palm . I don't think she recognized me when I said hello , as she was nice it is OK it has been well over a year . I think I also recognized the lady at the desk but I don't remember her name being Jay lol on her tag. I dropped off some fun 3d trinkets and Chocolate for the staff (aha I trust she shared lol it is OK it was squirreled away , seriously the worlds best chocolate bar flown in from Dubai) as I was originally a scheduled for Surgery on the 13th to wind up there the 14th, then it was rescheduled and I figured I may need bribes lol and I'll be on my best behavior I promise. At any rate I would have spent more time but everyone was busy managing and helping everyone. I did get stuck temporarily in the elevator with a friendly nurse , we both thought is the elevator moving , happily the door opened and wound up singing in a stairwell to laughter from somewhere , a song for Sloans, great acoustics. Oh there are plenty of elevators as well , I'm laughing as I was probably pranked :) If I go back I'll definitely bring an acoustic guitar as the place is missing music. Inside joke I'm a legend in my own mind and the bingo was fun as well but their are Bingo sharks in there. I was recently published coauthored Inside NeXT available on eBay so yes I'll continue to write , so more entertaining than one would expect , Time Traveling an adventure from a guy immobilized in a bed surviving MRSA saved by angels, I had to relearn how to walk , crazy stuff oh my happens when portals open up at sloans , fiction and non fiction why be boring, , some all ages , some you find in the overly romantic book clubs meets cosmo lol some kept secret squirrel aha . It is/was always a fun mix of folks of all ages , staff is great some true gem personalities , yes names changed . I don't know if a handlebar mustache is a requirement with an old timey hat , ha but that would be kind of funny. Including the chef hat making the pasta. ## Original review I have been here 6 weeks and have made friends with a lot of the staff. They have been friendly , responsive and very helpful . I was thankful for them helping me learn to walk again and it has been a 2 1/2 month journey as I almost died from sepsis. I'm finally going home tomorrow. . The PT and OT staff are amazing . The food depends on the chef lol doesn't it always as it can be fantastic or not so much an alternative there is a great cafe in the lobby that makes an awesome burger $4.50 add fries 1.50 :) yes I would recommend Sloans Lake Rehabilitation center, incredible view of Downtown Denver and or the mountains and lake . My parents in their 80's found it convenient for practically daily visits as well. It is also kept clean and the staff in previous ratings no longer work here and management is not afraid to justly make personnel changes when justified . Overall everyone is on top of it and I have enjoyed my comfortable stay here. Best regards Rob Blessin President BHI

Staff (aides) had attitudes and made you feel like it was a bother to be called. My husband would be helped to the bathroom, and then left on the toilet alone, sometimes as long as 45 minutes. Let me start this post by saying that I am generally skeptical in nature, and given all the…read morespeculation about chiropractic care, doubly so about it. However, I'd tried it twice before. I went once when I was 20, and my mother recommended I go see her chiropractor for some pain I was having. Now, I was skeptical at that time too, but I was living under her roof at the time, so I did as she said. And, to my surprise, I felt better after seeing him. Fast forward to my early 30s, and I'm no longer living under mom's roof; however, I started experiencing the same sort of pain for which I had previously seen mom's chiropractor. So, having seen success in the past, I decided to go see another chiropractor. This time, unfortunately, I chose randomly from a google search of Denver chiropractor's. Poor decision on my part. After seeing the second chiropractor three times, I was unhealed and felt that he was just guessing as to what he should be doing given my complaints. After that useless experience, I became highly skeptical of chiropractic care. However, when my knees starting giving me pain, a massage-therapist friend of mine recommended that I go see Dr. Kennedy, and I tried a chiropractor for the third time in my life. Dr. Kennedy has changed by perspective on chiropractic care. Dr. Kennedy takes time to try to understand his clients' needs. My first visit with him lasted well over an hour, and he performed a number of diagnostic tests to try to determine the cause of my ailments. It was only once he understood the problem(s), that he began to do any manipulations on me. I've now visited Dr. Kennedy three times, and the knee pain is completely gone (I even went skiing this weekend with no sign of pain whatsoever). Moreover, he continues to research what might be causing my other issues. Every time I've visited him, Dr. Kennedy has given me the impression that he continues to think about his patients after they leave his office. He's vested in their wellness, and wants to do everything he can to make them feel better. Unlike the last chiropractor I visited (who seemed unbothered by the fact that I was seeing no results), Dr. Kennedy has a real sense of duty in helping those who visit him. He takes time to understand his patient's ailments and needs, and takes time to explain what he is doing to aid them. He explains the science behind chiropractic care as he goes along, and takes a holistic approach to healing his patients, incorporating both eastern and western modalities into his practice. He has also suggested that I start taking some supplements, but has never pushed them on me. In fact, quite the opposite, he offered to give me a bottle of something he thought would really help me. If you've considered chiropractic care in the past but have been too much of a skeptic to try it, I highly recommend Dr. Kennedy, as his approach and results are likely to alleviate many of your concerns. I know he alleviated mine. Dr. Kennedy is sincere, honest, caring, and perhaps most importantly good at what he does.
