Best tailor in Santa Barbara hands down. A bit more expensive than the mill suit shops in town but worth every penny. I have a 13-year-old Faconnable lambskin leather bomber jacket which I absolutely love, and, unfortunately, Faconnable no longer makes. The elastic fabric cuffs and waist had worn over time and unraveled. Tony made the jacket like new again by replacing the cuffs and waist. The repair required completely opening up the sleeves and waist, and to look at the jacket you would never know this was done. This repair was done about 1 year ago (April 2012) and Tony's workmanship has held up just fine. Then, about 3 weeks ago when exiting my car, the back of the jacket got snagged on my seat belt receptacle, resulting in a double-parallel tear. One was about 2-inches in length, and the other about 3/4 inch. I told Tony I was going out of town the following week and needed the jacket. I brought it to him on a Tuesday afternoon and he had it ready on Thursday morning - less than 2 days! I wish I could could post a picture so everyone could see how well both repairs turned out. I could not be more pleased. I would highly recommend Tony for any of your tailoring or repair needs. read more

Tony is an excellent tailor and nice guy to work with. He has done some major alterations for me on several occasions over the years and I can't recommend his services highly enough. A high end leather goods purveyor in the Solvang Ca area referred me to Tony-he has a good eye for detail and style...and also was able to create from scratch (uncut fine leather skins) a very nice, fully lined, dress leather vest that is better than anything I was able to find anywhere-and being taller than most you can imagine how valuable this guy is-a gem in fact. I was starting to believe I'd rarely find something that fit me on shopping trips. Finding something I liked among the hundred possibilities, then trying it on only to find it didn't fit. Finding Tony the Tailor has changed my couture. I only have to like something, and Tony will make it fit perfectly. The days of a pair of Jeans making me feel bad are long over! In the 12 years that I have been going to Tony there's not been a botched job, no deadline not met, never a long wait. He has also helped me with difficult repairs. i'm petite, so i have to get a most of my pants and jeans hemmed. i've been to a couple of other tailors in sb, but i like tony because he gives you the option of sewing the original hem back onto your jeans (perfect for jeans that have the worn/frayed edges. you can't even tell that your jeans were hemmed at all. sweet baby jesus, i didn't even realize that was possible. I only recently discovered Tony about two years ago and now take all of my repairs/alterations to him. On several occassions, if I have a small repair, he would do it for me right there and not even charge me. I find his work to be excellent. Tony the Tailor is really great. I'm 5'4" and cannot buy much "off the rack" so having a good tailor is very important to me. I've tried several in town and while they all did fine, it is also about feeling the tailor gets you and what you're looking for with each item. I've taken in several sport coats, button up shirts, even t-shirts and his work has been consistently great. His business is clean, simple and easy to get in and out. I always find street parking, and another important factor... I found his prices to be very good. Tony takes pride in his work and is very nice and easy to talk to as well. We owe Tony a debt of gratitude for hemming a Bridesmaid dress my daughter needed last Saturday - and we didn't know it was too long until Wednesday! Tony was kind and accommodating and did it for $60.00. and by mid-day on Thursday instead of "late Thursday/early Friday" he promised. The dress had a lining and a crinoline layer too. Some of the dry cleaners we called were talking about huge rush fees. Panoyan Tailors offered the same price and speed, but Tony was closer. We will go back for sure. read more

Tony has been doing all of my alterations for 3 years. Most recently I brought in 6 pairs of pants to have them taken in and cuffed, he finished them all a week earlier than he had estimated. He has always done an incredible job for me. read more

Where do I begin. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I am beyond pissed. My sister and I went to Tony because it was supposed be the cheapest around for a simple hem on a bridesmaids dress. We went in and he pinned the bridesmaid dresses on my sister and I then we were told $40 for each dress so $80 in total he gave us our receipt and everything. So today I went in to pick up the dresses and was asked for $120, which mind you is more then we paid for the dresses. When I asked why it was so much I couldn't get a straight answer. I find this crazy, I am beyond angry so just a friendly pointer, find a different tailor! read more
