I've been coming to Happy Head for about three years now, but this is my first time getting prenatal massages here. I've actually been receiving massages for over 10 years, and I can confidently say this place is a keeper. The prenatal massage I received was professional, comforting, and exactly what I needed. Pregnancy brings so many aches -- especially in the calves, arms, shoulders, lower back, and hips -- and my therapist made sure to focus on all the areas that needed the most attention. I left feeling lighter, relaxed, and truly cared for. Jordan was the therapist who worked with me, and he was attentive, respectful, and very skilled. That said, everyone there has always provided great service. The environment is welcoming, the quality is consistently excellent, and the pricing is very affordable. But here is the reason for the 3 star: I purchased my massage through ClassPass. I opted for the First lady treatment which consisted of a deep tissue massage, salt scrub and free hot stones. When I first got there, I informed the receptionist that I had an appointment through ClassPass. Without asking, she grabbed my phone, took a picture of my screen then proceeded to call someone on her phone. I believe this may have been because of a language barrier. The gentleman on the phone confirmed I was there for the First Lady package and told me I'm all set. I then followed her to the room where she simply pointed to and walked away. That was fine. Lucy, then came in and created magic with her hands. The deep tissue massage was magnificent. The salt scrub was so glorious, I even got chills. Once she was done cleaning up the salt scrub, she said we were done. I politely reminded her that my appt came with the hot stones. She stepped outside, came back in and showed me her phone. It read: "colleague forgot to turn on the hot stones. Sorry" . Then, she said proceeded with offering me a hot towel instead. I declined the towel. As I was walking out, I was disappointed but I was still leaning toward the four star review because Lucy really did a good job despite missing the hot stones. However, when I approached the front desk, it was a different receptionist . A young lady with perfect English. She asked if I wanted to leave a tip. As I was getting my card ready to leave a well-deserved tip, I casually mentioned that my package came with the hot stones but that portion of the service was not provided. Her response was "I see..." She then charged my card for the tip and completely disregarded what I said. While my body feels relaxed, I left highly disappointed by how situation was handled. Mistakes happen, but acknowledging them and making an effort to address them, goes a long way.

I was their 2nd customer way back when they first opened in Chula vista. I even became friends with the owner and would often let her know about problems. Once her daughter took over everything has slowly gone to crap. She and her mother run 7-9 spas from home. That is what I was doing last week when the cops came. I explained I was texting the owner about my appt I made and why when I got here the girls just look at me because they don't understand a word you say. Well it turns out the daughter had me trespassed because I was sitting in front texting the owner. I was angry because this happens all the time they both run these spas from home. Keep reading and you will know too. This place 13 years ago started out as a nice massage spa and over the years having the same owner who now has many spas has deteroited into one of the bad spas that you go to for illegal activity. If the owners or a Mgr was present then this kind of activity would be minimized. This is probably the most legal spa this owner operates. someone there as a Mgr they could stop this kind of activity. These owners do not treat the girls well at all. Many sleep here as well and the owner charges them rent, staff get paid 20 yuan which is nothing. This business does nothing for our community it's a cash business. STAFF currently they have 4 girls who most have worked there for years. None of which are certified. Not being certified the business is required to have a certified thera p ist on duty they don't. These girls are friendly but if you want a true massage this is not the place to go to. Past staff did have certification but they are gone and the place is left with girls who can give a back rub and that's about it. Along with the illegal things. Also 1 girl is currently wearing an ankle bracelet so I'm guessing she is in some kind of trouble if she has to wear a ankle monitor. I mention these things because they are listed in the municipal code for massage businesses. TIPS A $20 TIP is more than enough. If they had any massage skills it could be higher. And guys and ladies don't give them a tip until you are ready to leave. If you pay for 1 hr make sure you get 1 hr they often try to get you to change it from 60min to 30min and tell the boss it was only 30min and they pocket the rest. Again having a responsible Mgr there this can be avoided. The certificate that they bring is not approved by the C.M.T.C.. PRO'S and CON'S PRO'S prices noted hours of operation shown clean rooms friendly staff CON'S You cannot talk to any of these women because they don't understand. The girl who wears the Ankle monitor is the only one who speaks a few words in English but not enough to actually be able to help. *linens are not changed after each customer (only the top sheet is changed) *customers in spa after midnight *therapists not certified * no name tags * no certified Mgr that is present Let's not forget about the black mold that is growing in the shower area. This itself is a health and safety violation which could make customers sick since it is transmitted through the air. Funny thing I was the one who notified the owner of this problem I even went so far that I offered to fix this problem if they would by the materials. I never got a response other than they are looking at it. Its been 2 months and it's still growing in the shower area. At some point the city of Chula vista is going to have to Crack down on these places. They pop up everywhere just like liquor stores. The city needs to regulate these places and get a handle on them before it really gets out of hand. Please note the items listed below with an * are items where they are municipal code violations that the city needs to start enforcing. CONCLUSION They have lost probably their longest spa customer 13 yrs. You can get an avg massage here now nothing like the massage that you use to get when they actually had certified therapists. While both the mom and daughter have certificates shown I'm not convinced that they are real and not faked. So if you want an avg back rub or other activity that is not legal then you might like this place. Over the next few months my mission is going to provide real reviews of all the spas that these 2 operate. So far the ones I have visited are worse than this spa and the women working there are let's say not the best candidates to do massage. Stay tuned there are more to follow. As well as there are so many other spas that want your business and will do their best to make you a return customer.

The guy massaged my body over sheet first then eventually had hands on. He did my neck all the way down to my legs. I don't think he managed my head, temples, or feet. When I flipped over, I'm used to a towel being placed over my eyes. This place is only open during the day time and they didn't have black out curtains, so it was a little brighter than usual in the room. Calming music playing but it was very low. The acupuncture- I wasn't quite sure what I could inquire about. Was hoping for a list but he just asked what my main concerns were and then told me to lay down on the table. Luckily I wore a dress and sandals. So I didn't have to remove anything except the sandals as the places he placed the needles were already exposed. I was too scared to look at the needles. Kept my eyes closed the entire time. Just felt a slight pinch when he placed the needles. They felt very small/thin. The only place I really felt any discomfort pain was my left foot/shin. I told him that at the end and he said I may feel sore for a day but the pain disappeared within hours. I felt so calm relaxed with the acupuncture. Definitely want to come back for that. Maybe not the massage tho.
