I've since moved south of hartford and unfortunately it is too far out of the way for daycare purposes, but we still board our dogs there and they always have a great time. I can honestly say that Erin is top notch compared to all other groomers I've been to in those 20 years! She is the dog whisper!! I've never come across someone who not only excels with the grooming experience (and I'm picky), but she stands out beyond the rest by how much she truly cares about each dog that walks thru her door. She gets to know each dog and what their personality needs, speaking their language so to say. If they are an anxious dog she works with them in a loving and gentle manner to get them to trust her. If she has an overly excited dog, she works with them to calm them down. Bottom line is that she builds a strong relationship with each dog or cat. She says that she even has her own nicknames for each dog that she meets. Both her skills with grooming and building relationships are exceptional!! And her prices are very reasonable!! She took absolutely wonderful care of and I trusted her % and even got to meet her who is much bigger than mine. I cherish the pictures of them together, showing my dog as a mini Pyr I also started to learn about raw feeding and had seeds planted in my mind which now I am committed to and have spent many hours researching and am working towards obtaining unofficial certification. I was absolutely devastated when she left her location and I'm not sure if she is grooming anymore, but I wish that I could find her again at this point. Our first incident here was when our dog slipped out of her collar when a staff member was handling her outside of the building. Our dog ran into the busy road and narrowly survived. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake. Last week when we picked our dog up at the end of the day we were informed that she had a gash on her leg and had been limping in the morning. We took our dog to a veterinary urgent care facility and, five hours and 1500 dollars later, we were informed by the vet that she had most likely been bitten due to the nature of the wound and the level of pocketing. Our dog now has stitches, a drain, has to take medication, and has to be monitored in a cone for 10-14 days. The following day I spoke with the owners. I asked why they hadn't called us when our dog was limping in the morning, and why they again failed to inform us that they found a bleeding wound on my dog in the afternoon. The male owner spent the conversation downplaying the event and arguing with me, claiming they had only seen a "little red dot" and that "these things happen when dogs play". He also came up with excuses like, "it's hard to see wounds sometimes because of fur," yet our dog has short white fur. No matter what, the owners/staff should have called us when they noticed that our dog was injured. They refused to help with the vet bill, but did refund our daycare package.

More important than the haircut, she is just so obviously someone who adores animals, and I know she always takes the best possible care of the dogs in her care. Unlike other groomers I've been to, I believe she only takes one dog at a time so it's not a chaotic environment full of barking dogs. She's also done really quickly this way - it always makes me uncomfortable to drop off my dog somewhere for the entire day. Highly recommended!
