My senior dog typically gets groomed by an in-home groomer every 12 weeks as he has anxiety and he's most comfortable at my house. Unfortunately, due to the death of a parent and my grandmother being in the ICU due to congestive heart failure, I had to cancel the two appointments I had made with my groomer. And as she's typically booked out for over a month, my dog was two months overdue for his grooming. My mom has had both of her dogs groomed at Cheryl's Pride and Groom for a few years, so I figured I would make an appointment there. As I start to drop off my dog, one of the groomers (tall lady with brown hair, glasses, a bandana, a few arm tattoos) starts to scold me because my dog was overdue for his grooming appointment. She had a really condescending attitude and counted how overdue my dog was on her fingers (as though I were a child who couldn't count mentally) and said that a dog like mine needs to be groomed every 7-8 weeks (which isn't true of my dog as he gets groomed every 12 weeks and typically looks fine at that point). Quite frankly, her attitude was enough to get me to not come back here despite the fact that they gave my dog a decent haircut (though it was expensive as they charged the same as the in-home groomer). In fact, since I'm the one that drives my mother and her dogs to her grooming appointments, she will also not be back here. A crappy attitude just cost this place two customers. Because if they give attitude to a new client, how do they treat their clients once they're comfortable? Sorry, but I don't care how good you cut hair. If you're rude, I don't utilize your service. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Absolutely terrible, I brought my dog in, took around 3 hrs which was fine but they had cut him not once but twice, they didn't even let me know about them they just sent him right off with me. I don't mean small cuts they are enormous and so bloody, not to mention 80 dollars for a 30 pound Cacapoo, my dog is the calmest dog u will ever meet, so u wonder how in the hell people can mess up tht badly, I couldn't tell you. it is so fucking disgusting in there, they clearly do not clean their area at all I will say tht at the least. please do not go here for the sake of your dogs health. Your Better off going to petco or somewhere other than this place. Workers also are very rushed people, and do not care about the dogs at all, this is clear. read more

Long story short, they totally screwed up my cat's trim. Told them multiple times not to cut the fur too short in person and over the phone told them no lion's clip. Also mentioned not to use any scents as my cat has feline asthma. They did not respect a single thing said to them. Gave my a cat lion's clip and the stupid scent they used has not gone away even after a whole 24 hours after this disaster. read more

I am absolutely appalled by this "service"! The employees were rude and quick with my husband and I, not asking our preferences and told us they would cut how they would. We have a goldendoodle and they completely missed chunks of her coat, leaving it uneven and messy! They also did not pluck her ears, risking an ear infection. We will NEVER be back. Overall a horrible experience, I came to Cheryl's Pride and Groom and prior to picking up my dog was met with extremely rude attitude telling me my dog was aggressive, growled at the groomer, and even took snips at her when trying to remove my dog from the crate. I had explained that I had never once heard this about my dog from any previous groomer or vet. They had me believe my dog was super aggressive and told me they would not take my business anymore and said "maybe he needs to type of medication before the groomer" to relax the dog prior to going to the groomer. Being a first time dog owner I was taken aback and went right to the vet who was shocked and asked me three separate times if I was sure I needed the medication. When I called to make another appointment they told me my dog was red flagged and was not allowed to come back, this is after I had spent money on medication to relax my "aggressive dog". I went to another groomer and warned them of what had been told to me and they said my dog was pleasant and had no idea what the groomer at Cheryl's was talking about, this is without giving any medication. It still baffles me that a place that claims they have tons of experience tells me my dog was aggressive and were extremely rude to a customer. I have never written a review about anything in my life but this place made me feel so passionate that I had to share my experience. Wish I could give 0 stars. read more

My mom and I have been bringing our dogs (and cat) here for years and love it! They do such a great job and have a true love for animals. They fit our dogs in to their busy schedule with no hassle and are also very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend Cheryl's Pride and Groom for anyone with dogs or cats! read more

We only give it 1 star because a friend uses them and has had no problems over the years (and because Yelp doesn't allow zero stars). We tried Cheryl's for the first and last time a month ago. the cut actually was pretty decent, although they didn't really cut the hair around her face (maybe to get us back sooner?). Upon picking our dog up, we asked how she behaved, and they said she was horrible and had growled at them. We have never had a groomer say anything other than your dog is adorable, but very shy, so we were beyond surprised. Well, when they told us what happened, I'm surprised she didn't bite them. They kept her in a crate for a few hours (even though they told us it would take less than two hours total) until it was time to groom her. When they were ready, they opened the crate, but she didn't want to come out. Well, rather than try to coax her out, they just reached in and pulled her out. Anyone who has ever had a dog knows that you don't reach into a do's crate, especially a scared dog. What did they expect would happen?? Well, that would remove one a star for being clueless, but they lost the other three because we started noticing about a week or two after the grooming appointment that our dogs ear starting smelling. Yeast infection. This is the first yeast infection our dog has ever had because every other groomer is smart enough to know to dry the dogs ears out. So, $160 in vet bills later, our dog's ears are starting to clear out, no thanks to Cheryl's groomers. read more

Very busy, and it took about 5 hours to have my dog ready for pick-up. She looked great! Her white fur was extra white. They were going to charge me an extra $40 for oversize (which seemed very steep) but once they say my dog in person, the owner adjusted to a reasonable $15 up-charge (she weighs 90 lbs). read more

I've brought my dog here for the last year. She's a Shih Tzu and when I've brought her to other groomers in the area none of them have done as nice a job as Cheryl's. They always fit her in, do a great job at grooming her and their prices are competitive. I won't be taking my dog anywhere else in the near future. read more
