5 years ago I encounterd a small automotive mechanic business as I had picked up a friend in Fort…read moreErie, Ontario, Canada and on the way back just steps from my house the radiator hose sprung a pinhole leak from the wear and tear on the old car (2007). As I was on my way up to the Northern part of Ontario I had to stop at home and diagnose the problem. I was so upset that I bought transmission fluid instead of radiator fluid as both were red in colour and I thought I'd fix the problem myself. The next day when I had realized and read the bottle I was even angrier at no one but myself for being so smart. I looked up an automotive repair shop that was within driving distance and was offering to look at my car the next day. Long story short, Dave & the dudes flushed my radiator clean of the transmission fluid and not only that the did an oil change fixed my front brakes and charged me a very reasonable cost for their time on my vehicle. This automotive mechanic shop is few and far between with their expertise & professionalism from the time you enter their door til the time you race off in your fixed vehicle. Dave's a dude and the guys working for him have the know how on most all makes and models. That's why I keep going back and would recommend Total Automotive to anyone that wants to save a dollar and have reliable experts and parts installed on any make or model. I went in to fix a leaking tire. It was end of the day and the shop was almost closed, but they…read moretook me in anyway. I knew where the tire was leaking and I told the owner, he verified and said that there was nothing there. I insisted until he finally saw the leak and impatiently said "step back, sir, let me do my work, I have some experience with tires" (irony detected). I was baffled, but ok, I stepped outside. Then he shouted from the shop "I hope you have cash on you, because debit is out". I hadn't and offered him the option to get some from a nearby ATM and his answer was "make it fast!". Well, got the money, tire is fixed, problem solved. If you want to take your car there, be aware of the owner with rough edges and "some experience with tires". Otherwise, there are other options on the same street (Niagara Battery and Tire, Midas Auto repair) that I will explore in the future.
