Today, all three of our children (ages 4.5, 2.5, and 1.5) attend Goddard, and we've experienced every classroom from Infant through PS2. We initially chose Goddard because of its outstanding reputation in the community. Families consistently described it as clean, safe, educational, fun, and trustworthy, and our experience has absolutely lived up to those expectations. What stands out most is the genuine care the teachers have for the children. My kids are excited to go to school every day, which speaks volumes. The school is constantly creating fun and engaging experiences, from Kona Ice visits and special guests to themed weeks, festivals, scooter races, and enrichment opportunities like dance and soccer during the school day. While we've had countless positive experiences, Ms. Amy deserves special recognition. She has built incredible relationships with our children and has become such an important part of their lives. She lovingly created nicknames that are still used years later, helped fully potty train our oldest and is now helping our second child, and even asked to FaceTime when he celebrated his first success on the potty. She has cared for our children when they were sick, kept us informed about important deadlines and events, and always takes time to share the little stories that make our days brighter. Goddard should do everything they can to keep her. The teaching staff as a whole is exceptional. There is a wonderful mix of long-tenured teachers who mentor those newer to the profession. Every teacher brings a different style--warm, structured, silly, nurturing, or traditional--but all have earned our trust. Communication is also strong. We receive regular updates regarding supplies, incidents, and classroom activities. While there have been a few opportunities for more proactive communication, such as when a classroom staffing change occurred unexpectedly, those instances have been the exception rather than the rule. Academically, we've been incredibly impressed. Beyond reading at home, we rarely feel the need to supplement their learning. Our children frequently come home talking about topics that surprise us with their depth and detail. Most recently, we had a lively family discussion about nocturnal animals inspired by what they learned at school. The school is exceptionally clean, organized, and well-managed. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on life skills and personal responsibility. My children routinely clear their dishes, clean up after themselves, and take pride in helping at home--habits that were reinforced at Goddard. Finally, we have tremendous appreciation for Ms. Emily and Ms. Didi. Together they provide the perfect balance of hands-on leadership and strong administrative organization, helping create the positive culture and consistency that make the school so successful. As parents, there is nothing more valuable than knowing your children are safe, loved, learning, and excited to be where they are each day. Goddard has given our family that peace of mind, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

I knew we chose the right daycare facility when my son had his first febrile seizure on a Sunday. I…read morenotified the school after my son missed several days of school of his diagnosis. Juliana called me the first day he was back. She implemented a protocol that if he ever had a fever, they would give him Tylenol (with a doctor's note) and that a parent would have to pick him up right away. This past Friday, my son's teacher Ms. Didi noticed his fever right away (even though it was only 99.5) and the school notified me. I arrived to pick him up within about 20 minutes. As I was putting him in his car seat he had another febrile seizure and started to turn blue. I ran him back inside and Gabbi very calmly called 911. The paramedics arrived within minutes. Meanwhile several teachers came to help apply ice and comfort the both of us. Gabbi offered to come with us to the hospital and without my insisting we were fine, would have. Gabbi even texted us to check in with our family later that night. I cannot thank the staff at Goddard Ft. Mitchell enough for their compassion and help in such a difficult moment.

My son has been going to the KinderCare Edgewood facility for about six months and we have been so pleased. While they have some of the same teacher longevity issues you may run into at other facilities, I've felt that the quality of the employees and the facility is very high. The center director, Delainna, and assistant director, Katey, are fantastic. It is so nice to have a supportive group at school that feel like partners in the parenthood journey. My son has learned a lot with the KinderCare curriculum; they have weekly themed lessons and they incorporate play and learning. The facility has an indoor playground for the kids to work on their gross motor skills and work off their energy on bad weather days. They have great outdoor play facilities as well and they have a weekly water play day during the summer. The billing is also super easy - I have my credit card on auto-pay for the weekly billing and I appreciate that I don't have to think about it.

We also absolutely LOVE having a parent app where we can get real time updates, photos, and videos throughout the day. This has been an around wonderful place for our kiddos!

He gets to spend his weekdays in a very safe, regulated, educational environment where he can learn just as much as he socializes. As a Montessori school, it functions more like an educational institution than a daycare, which creates a perfect balance that is incredibly healthy for the children. I will say, the staff was very friendly and I do think they took good care of my child; however, I just couldn't look past the dirt and grim...The bin they give you to put your baby's diapers/personal items in, there was dirt in it - I guess from a previous child? It looked like it hadn't been wiped down in years- eeeew! Regarding the common areas: I understand it's a daycare with lots of kids running around, so it's probably hard to keep the place spotless, but there were so many things that just seemed grungy to me. It was really hard for me to look past it. Every time I walked in the building it smelled like the inside of a diaper pail. (I get it...there's a lot of dirty diapers that get changed daily, but the whole place doesn't need to smell like it). The daycare is located in the basement of a church, so they are limited to the amount of space they have, but the infant room is very small. There's hardly any space for the babies to move around once they start crawling/walking. It was also always super warm in the baby room. My daughter even had a heat rash one day. Also, because of the limited space, the main hallway was always a total cluster... The extra cribs and nap time mats were lined up against the walls and the the baby carriers were stacked everywhere. LASTLY, I was starting to get pretty irritated because the lead teacher in the baby room kept giving my baby a pacifier - someone else's pacifier! I said multiple times that my baby did not take a pacifier, but again and again I'd pick her up at the end of the day and there would be a pacifier with her. The teacher said she sterilized it before giving it to her, but that's besides the point! If I'm telling you not to give my baby a pacifier, then please respect my wishes as the parent. I'd like to mention that I did tour this daycare prior to enrolling my child and I did have my initial concerns but I tried to look past them because I had received multiple recommendations for Grace Edgett. I really wish we would have had a better experience, but unfortunately, this daycare just wasn't the right fit for our family.

Their staff are not required to wear masks, even the infant and toddler rooms. This is the email I sent and as a result, we were removed for: "For a second time (in two months), due to actions of your staff, my child's classroom is closed. As your staff continues to test positive for COVID, my husband and I have to take off from work. We placed Amari in daycare because we have jobs. It doesn't make much sense to send her to daycare when we continue to need to stay home with her. What's worse is we are expected to pay full tuition on weeks she is not there full time. Where is the logic? I am home changing diapers, preparing food, keeping her occupied and losing money from my place of work while I continue to fund yours for doing NOTHING. I expect that there will be some reimbursement for parents who are losing time and money as a result of your reckless staff. Either our tuition should be prorated for such weeks or additional vacation days should be given. I was told that there would be a conversation with the owner, however, after almost two years in a pandemic, there should be something in place. If you're not going to ensure our babies are safe, you could at least stop robbing us at the same time."

Long story short, I am on active duty and mom is a disabled vet herself with 2 kids and we were…read moreinvolved in a very serious car accident (vehicle rolled multiple times type serious) and mom was severely injured from it (paralyzed). My daughter suffers from serious anxiety brought on from the accident (mind you she was three when it occurred) and had just turned 4 when we enrolled her at this daycare. During this time her anxiety finally started surfacing and as a fresh 4 year old she doesn't know how to handle it and it comes out as to be expected for a 4 year old. I don't say that to be used as an excuse for her behavior but it at least gives understanding as to why she began acting out.m, she was being triggered and didn't know how to handle those triggers. As good parents should, we informed them that she is suffering from anxiety once we understood what was going on and we told them we are trying to find ways to help her. To clarify, before the anxiety, my daughter was never a problem child in daycare, never been called about being upset, mean, or violent towards any other child or staff. The last straw for me was a situation I had no control over whatsoever. After a couple of weeks of trying to work with them to help find a way to get my daughter situated because they kept making comments like, "maybe this isn't the right daycare for your daughter," I pretty much was asking them to help us figure out something before you try and kick my daughter out because kicking her out isn't the answer nor is expecting her to transition to a third day care within 6 months going to help the matter. During this time mom was out of town up in Cleveland getting fitted for her power chair when one morning she had a significant health scare that would hospitalize her for a month, the same morning I was supposed to have a meeting with the staff to discuss options for my daughter. So I had to get on the road that morning to go see her and when I dropped my daughter off I explained to them what had happened and her grandparents would be picking her up and asked them to revisit the meeting when I returned and to hold off on doing anything with my daughter (such as kicking her out). That same morning driving up to Cleveland I get a call from my mother-in-law that they were kicking her out of daycare!!! Can you say furious! When I returned I went straight to the daycare to find out what happened and they were like we can't handle her and will not tolerate her acting out and being violent with staff. So I asked instead of asking us to keep her home for s few days or something to try and figure how to help her you decided to kick her out while we were dealing with my wife's health after her brain essentially shut down! They tried to offer some "daycare" program that focuses on kids with behavioral problems and that if she passes their program they'll be willing to take her back. I the asked do they not have staff like other daycares that whose sole purpose is to help with kids in need and the simple answer was no. I called this place up that they offered and guess what, they don't accept my insurance and when I asked how much do they charge, it is a $600 per day program!!! So not only did they kick my daughter out at the most inopportune time, but they don't even know the requirements of the place they recommend, and now my daughter has nowhere to go and I can't go to work! This all happened February of 2023, we couldn't find and get our daughter back into a daycare until that May!! My daughter was and is dealing with something that even grown adults struggle with controlling and this is how they handled it. This is why I give this daycare the rating I did and it needs to be known that if your child has special needs that may cause a problem or disturbance, do not expect them to go the extra mile to try and help figure out a way to make it easier on everyone.
