Jumpin' Java is a small local coffee shop with a convenient drive-through and flavorful coffee. We ordered inside, the baristas were polite and prepared our order quickly even though the drive-through line was a little backed up. We ordered two iced specialty coffees, the Toffeenut Mudslide and the Caramel Creme. For 20oz specialty coffees they were very reasonably priced (we paid a total of $11) and they tasted delicious! The front counter and menu area was cluttered and unorganized in my opinion, it was overwhelming. They had lots of local flyers and business cards, which is fine, but they should be in one area away from the front counter. They aso had a seasonal menu which I didn't even see until after ordering because it looked like just another flyer and not like it was part of the menu. There are only a few tables/seating options inside, definitely more of a grab-and-go kind of place. There wasn't any music or background noise playing either. It's good for what it's meant to be, but still room for improvement. read more

If you're in Oak Island or Southport, this is a great place to satisfy those coffee needs. It's a little tough to see from the road, I noticed it because of the "Coffee" banner whippin' in the wind out by the road, it's directly across from the entrance to the Cape Fear Regional Jetport. There is a drive-thru, no speaker to talk into, you just pull to the window where the menu is hanging on the side of the building & someone opens the window to take your order. The young lady that waited on me at the drive-thru was one of the nicest people ever and explained everything perfectly about their coffee creations. I told her I usally just drink plain ol' coffee, but it was afternoon & I was feeling adventurous, she recommended the Milkyway Iced Frapp & a piece of a locally made apple cake to go with it. I don't usually do fancy coffee drinks, but this Milkyway iced concoction was awesome, I would definitely revisit for another. The apple cake was one of the best pieces of cake I ever had, it had whole apple wedges covered in cinnamon baked right into it. This is definitely a place I will go to any time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

This is a cute place on your way to oak island, it's adorable inside with good coffee, a few pastries, cool oatmeal and granola. They also have a drive through on the right ( in which I missed totally). I liked the cozy inside. I felt it was quite a bit away from things and I'm a bit picky on my foam and lattes;) It was a fun experience to try a new place. read more

I am writing an update, which I should have done a couple years ago. My last review I complained of a grouchy worker, but she was quickly let go and now the owners are there most of the time. They are both lovely people, always ready to adjust any beverage to just what you want. One day, a lady came in with her dog and said it was too hot to leave him in the car. Sarah quickly gave the pup a bowl of water. So sweet. We had a young boy with us who wanted a milkshake. She showed him all the flavors to choose from. He was thrilled to get a maple milkshake! I love the iced coffee with the cubes made of coffee. Very nice place, located in South Harbor. read more

Delicious! I got a chai tea and, husband ordered various coffees during our visit. Everything thing was prepared expertly and the service was fabulous. Always a smile and always polite. The chai tea had a good level of spice and the right level of creamy-ness. Husband said the coffee always tasted fresh. Yes, it is hard to see from the street. This place is easy to miss, and fourth more faces steep competition from a lot of local coffee shops in nearby areas. What sets this place apart is the very friendly staff, and the almost quirky atmosphere. The place is cramped feeling inside but it doesn't seem to be an issue on my visits because there aren't that many patrons at once. Fantastic coffee, just amazing. read more

The owner greeted us sweetly as we were driving through. I was visiting and heading home after and my Dad raved about this place. I give it three stars because the service was good. We had a almond milk cappuccino and coffee which were good. My sons ordered smoothies with a blueberry muffin and unfortunately. To my surprise neither one of them thought they were good. So I tried them to see why they weren't drinking them. At first, I thought it was maybe the flavor of the protein that was added but it tasted more like artificial sugar or maybe stevia? Not sure but these guys aren't very picky about there smoothies. I also ordered the coffee cake and it was good. I would be curious to see the menu and know more about the ingredients. I am a frappacino freak and this is my favorite place to grab one, even over Starbucks! You can go inside or just go through the drive-thru. They also have smoothies and redbull smoothies. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a caffeine fix. read more

I only do Sugar-free in my lattes and Jumpin' Java has one of the best selections around. And their lattes are great! The punch card to get you a free drink puts them above the bigger chains and their drive-thru helps when I'm running a tad bit late. read more

I ordered an iced white chocolate lavender latte which was one of their specials. First off it did not taste like white chocolate nor like lavender. It tasted, oddly enough, like peach. I've have lavender lattes at multiple other places and have cooked with lavender before so I know what it should taste like. Besides the odd flavor it didn't have like any espresso in it. I couldn't even taste the coffee. It was also FAR too sweet. Now I like my lattes fairly sweet but I found this one cloyingly sweet. The place was clean, the people nice, and the service quick. Those were the only good things about it. The coffee, more like sweet milk, was not good at all. Maybe their drip coffees are better but the latte I was served was not good. Blue Sea Coffee on Oak Island is much better in my opinion if you want stronger coffees. They also have homemade bagels so you can get a bite to eat with it. Jumpin' Java didn't offer anything really for foods, just a few sweets. read more
