Ruby's Coffee House was one of our favorite stops on Oak Island! We ordered the house drip coffee, a chai tea, and a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant, and everything was fantastic. The coffee was fresh, the chai was flavorful, and the croissant was delicious and hit the spot for breakfast. However, we finished our drinks before we got our breakfast so that was disappointing. We arrived around 8:30 a.m., and while there was already a line, it grew quickly after we got there. The wait was definitely noticeable, but completely worth it. Parking can be a challenge, but that's pretty common everywhere on Oak Island, so we didn't hold that against them. What we especially appreciated was how family-friendly it felt. We had a baby with us, and the atmosphere was welcoming and accommodating for families with little ones. It made for an easy and enjoyable breakfast stop. Great food, great drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Just plan for a little extra time if you're visiting during the morning rush. We'd absolutely come back! read more

It's not vacation unless I find a local coffee shop! I hoped on Yelp and searched "cutest coffee shop" in oak island and Ruby's popped up. And they were right!! It's in a perfect location, next to many other businesses / a great restaurant. They had good menu options and I loved my iced latte! Our orders have all been correct. Our drinks have all been delicious. The vibe here fits with the beachfront location. They have murals on the walls featuring tropical vegetation. It feels like "happy vacation" was the theme. The place is clean. They have a 97.5 sanitation grade. They have a limited food menu. They sell honey, T-shirts, and some other merchandise items. Nice coffee spot. Small but mighty. Parking lot can be a pain. Very close to the ocean which was nice. Waited a bit for my order. They were out of grits by the time I got up there. Super cute cafe right on beach connected to the fishing pier and Koko Canbano restaurant. It's an aqua building. There's a parking lot but I am sure it can get busy. You can also access this from the beach! Super convenient. They do have indoor seating available. Super cute decor. The menu offers coffees, teas, lattes, etc (typical coffee shop drinks), as well as good options such as bagels, toasts, French toast, etc. There's also specialty drinks they create. Ordered raspberry white chocolate latte (yum) and an Americano. The Americano wasn't very strong, but was good. Great location and good drinks and good options. They even sell merchandise. Such a cute coffee shop right on the beach! I stayed on Oak Island for the weekend and ended up coming here both mornings with friends. It has a very casual vibe inside, and the breakfast sandwiches hit the spot. We ended up taking the coffee to go for a beach walk. (There is convenient access to the beach right outside Ruby's). This is the best coffee house on the island! My wife and I are regulars but I must say the service is spectacular! They use water processed decaf! The super nice barista knew I order decaf regularly (due to medical issues) and knew to ask when I missed it ordering. That's top notch service folks. My iced coffee was delicious. Best in town. Ruby's is a super cute coffee shop right on the waterfront by Oak Island Pier. We stopped in to grab a quick coffee before taking a walk down the pier and on the beach. We got a Honey Vanilla Latte and a Caramel Macchiato, both iced. They were good, but nothing remarkable. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They had me at Lavender Vanilla latte! Ruby's is the cutest little coffee shop located right by the pier on Oak Island. They have some really unique coffee drinks as well as tea and local homemade pastries. I did see several people ordering breakfast sandwiches that looked great including toast, bagels, croissants, etc. The overall vibe is right up my alley with lots of bright light, colors and plants filling the space. We did have to wait in a pretty long line for about 30 minutes on a Saturday morning over Labor Day weekend, which is to be expected. Grab a coffee and stroll the pier while you sip! What a great little "hole in the wall". This place is AWESOME. Friendly Staff. Cute setting. Right on the Ocean (can't see it but they are on the backside of a building that is on the ocean). We were in Oak Island for a week and came here 3 times I believe. Coffee is great with a lot of options for every level of coffee consumer. They offer local items for purchase as well as their food and coffee. We actually stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town. I had a great Everything Bagel breakfast sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food and coffee that day. A great place to grab a coffee and then walk the beach. We were there in November (Thanksgiving week) so it was perfect to grab a coffee and stroll the beach. It is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Just know that it is attached to the same building as KoKo Cabana and a Supply store selling fishing supplies and such. You won't regret stopping. read more
