My family has been seeing Dr. Eisenbaum for about 20 years now. A very nice guy who takes his time…read moreand seems interested in people. Wait times are reasonable, and the rest of the staff is ok. Also, a few years ago Dr. Eisenbaum diagnosed my mom's best friend with thyroid cancer during a routine physical. She then went to a top thyroid cancer specialist at Johns Hopkins who said that he would not have caught the cancer because there were little to no visible symptoms. It ended up being Anaplastic Thyroid cancer, which is the most rare and serious type, with horrible survival rates. But because it was caught so early thanks to Dr. Eisenbaum, it was successfully removed and my mom's friend is doing well.

He was able to do what none of her four children could -- convince her of the seriousness and urgency of her condition that she had been basically ignoring for years while death knocked at her door. Dr. Bonomo connected us to other Inova physicians and surgeons, yet continued to follow up with her progress even after others had taken over the case. She is the self-appointed president of his fan club. I am pleased to report it has gotten easier to get follow up appointments. (I love the MyChart patient portal system but that's not the way to go for scheduling; you are better off calling the office directly.) The Fairfax building is gorgeous and a delight to visit. I also recommend the Ballston office. You can literally park on the curb outside the door and be in the office 30 seconds later. Ballston doesn't have the advantage of having a whole complex (lab, cafeteria, adorable gift shop, access to other docs) right there, but for a basic visit it's so convenient.

I feel like she is really listening to concerns by taking her time and answering all my questions thoroughly. I never felt rushed during the appointment. She up to date on the latest women's health care issues which is very important to me. I don't feel dismissed like I do with many physicians, especially male physicians. The practice is very good about prescription refills, making and rescheduling appointments, etc. The entire staff is friendly and professional. The lab is a separate entity from the practice.
