There's a big developmental jump between new walkers and 2-3-year-olds and while our teacher did a wonderful job trying to engage everyone In our class, the younger children understandably needed more support, which made it harder for the older toddlers to stay engaged. I'm hoping maybe smaller or more age-specific grouping in the future, if possible, would help create a calmer, more focused environment for the kids. Also, the routines started to feel a bit repetitive for the older toddlers, which I suppose is understandable, but there was less enthusiasm to participate with my almost 3 year old as our class became a majority of younger babies.

My little sister went for a bit, and now I don't really know any of the younglings (I'm getting old!). However, Laural is the newest teacher for the children's classes along with Tude, whom I have been taught by for the past 17 years. Tude is a wonderful role model to grow up with, someone who is so passionate about dance and who gets you really excited about your numbers. And Laural is the best: the children LOVE her. She really interacts with the kids and makes sure they get the best out of each class. Children's classes are Saturdays, and they are mostly combo classes. Teens: The instructors are really friendly are very helpful. I know several girls who came to the studio when they were 13/14/15 and have advanced so much! Liz, who taught me for the majority of my teenage years, is great. Her warm ups are effective and her class will make you SWEAT! Her warm ups are also to pretty new music which is always fun to do, and often times there are strength training exercises, along with technique building after warm ups. This studio also puts on an AMAZING show. I've been a part of it annually my whole life! (Except last year, because I was in school ... aka depressing). Be aware though that if you're not looking to do a recital and practice the numbers for it from Jan-June, then this is not for you. The main concentration Jan-June is the recital. If you simply want technique and a good work out, then the July-Dec session is what you'll want. Also, the prices are seriously the best around. $60 for one class a month. I doubt you'll find a studio with experienced teachers that cheap. Recital time can get expensive though, but if you want to dance, that's sort of expected (costumes, pictures, new shoes) I grew up at Tude's and am a strong dancer because of it. The environment is family like, and very friendly. The teachers are experienced, encouraging, and great role models for your kids. And the studio also puts on an excellent recital.

My first class years ago was taught by Nick Lazzarini, winner of season one of SYTYCD. Keith and Lisa are amazing people and great instructors. When you go to a class, you will get personal attention and will really improve your dance technique. They've got classes of all ages, all sorts of styles of dance, it's great. The bad reviews really caught me by surprise. Definitely need to go back for some classes, I really miss dance. Just got to get my flexibility back before I go back, and summon up the courage. Alyssa was our teacher and did a fantastic job putting us at ease. She was non-judgmental and super patient. Now I am a championship level cha cha dancer. OK, that's a lie but I do know the basics. The instructors are very laid back and Stefan is always cracking jokes with his hilarious names for certain moves. He takes his time to make sure we get the basic right and does not call out individuals even if they are doing it wrong. Instead he observes and let you learn on your own and will give you pointers. I like that both instructors will dance as the other role so you know exactly how it should feel, I find this method much more effective. We take the bachata class every Tuesday, which is led by Stefan.The dance program is always new so you're not repeating but he adjusts it for new dancers so others can easily come in and follow. Carolyn is always an excellent instructor who teaches salsa every Tuesday at 7:30pm. She really knows how to find the minute details to help refine your move. I am terrible with my hand gestures and don't really know how to add the little feminine move. When we did the shoulder twist I look like a zombie but she spend extra time to help me refine it. It was super helpful that she tells me to resemble more common moves or spelling out letters. This helped me visualize how to make the move! I recommend doing this even if you're not training for your wedding first dance. Latin dancing has a whole community and there is so much these guys are doing here. They are creating a community. Every st 3rd Friday's they host a social dance party at their studio so you meet people and get to experience it in real life...did I mention a taco truck too? Just come a few times and you'll see!

It is much worse than before since it changed ownership. They change the rule you can do the make up class, the owner always afraid other adult will take more make up classes, treat other like thief. I don't understand why people can stand up this kind of insult? After all there are so many other dancing place where people treat people nice.

We feel so lucky and fortunate to have found this wonderful dance school. My daughter takes Chinese Dance with Ms. Tan. Ms. Tan is an excellent teacher, who supports and encourages the girls in their dancing. We have a dance mom who keeps us, parents informed of costumes, tickets, practice schedules, etc. The dance recitals are very well organized and are held at West Valley College. Flash photography is prohibited during the show because when a flash of a camera goes off and a performer happens to be looking directly at it, they can, and do; sometimes get temporally blinded seriously compromising their ability to see on stage. Yaoyong Dance wants to keep the dancers safe and they do prohibit flash photography during the show. Yaoyong encourages parents to video tape and take photographs during dress rehearsal. This seems perfectly fair and reasonable to me. We have been very happy with Yaoyong Dance for the last three years!!!
