The food is good as long as you literally dont mind waiting over an hour for a burger and fries. We are local (4 miles away) and its so bad we only order take out! Our last transactions were horrifying! we called 40 mins ahead of time, arrived at the time food was supposed to be ready and i sent my husband in.( i had the kids in the car) 20 mins later my husband emerges, clearly annoyed since the food still isnt done. At this point the children are hungry, crying, and im done waiting. We ask for a refund and the owner refuses! ( states we can wait!) we are beyond pissed we receive our food 30 mins after we arrived, 1 hour and 15 mins after we called it in and were refused a refund. To follow all this mess up, the owner proceeds to come out to our vehicle which im sitting in with the kids, swearing and calling us mother****! Im so disappointed with these owners. I cannot believe the owners find it acceptable to literally run up to a car full of children and swear like that! Not a friendly, family or even a restaurant i would ever bring my kids to again. We will be driving to the Viking or wooden table 20 mins away before we ever give them our money again. What a shame! The old junction was so good! read more

There comes a point at which you can't go any further north in Minnesota without funneling east or west through Knickknack Hell (Grand Marais, Ely, International Falls). When you find see the stop sign at the end of the northbound pavement, you've found yourself in downtown Togo, MN. Togo, MN consists of a 8 houses, 1 stop sign, and the Junction Bar & Grill. The Junction is incredible! It's evolved very little in the decade I've frequented it. Near as I can tell, they updated the dining area and increased the beer selection. We stopped in on Saturday during a mid-day break from walking forest roads. The burgers were fantastic. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss. It was perfect prepped with a healthy portion of sauteed mushrooms. The waffle fries are as good as you will find anywhere, and their beer selection surprised me. No Guinness on tap but they have it in chargers. The wait staff? Well, the bartender swore at me and chatted up my companion. Perfection! It's a great place - not at all the dive bar that I tend to encounter on my sojourns to the far corners of our state. read more
