I went to Shakti as I was told is was a great place for beads. When I got there I found it is a…read moreplace with not so many beads, but many nik-naks. Some of the beads they sold were alright, but nothing for a person who is seriously into jewellery making. I was really surprised when I was told that I had to hand over my purse to them, as I was told that people bump into things & damage them. This made no sense to me as the more expensive things were up front. With more discussion it became clear to me that they were more concerned about people stealing beads as opposed to damaging them. Never in my life have I ever had to leave my purse with employees to protect the store from thieves. I told them that they shouldn't treat their patrons as criminals‼ They had a security guard in the front, so if he is doing his job right they shouldn't have to do this‼ Truth be told, the whole experience gave me a very bad taste in my mouth.
