If decided to come to the Pescadero area to explore, El Cerrito is a great spot. An hour drive from…read moreCabo's congestion. Be prepared for unpaved streets and bare bone construction sites. Drive carefully and use a navigation app because the roads off the highway are not well signed or lit. It's totally safe. I know what you're thinking...who needs a farm to table restaurant? Hierbabuena is so much more than a concept. Everything is crafted with the freshest and locally grown produce. If you're looking for cheap eats, there's a lot of options. If you need something special and aimed at great ingredients, this is the spot. Service is kind, knowledgeable, and prepared to give you recommendations. You're tucked away in a garden oasis, with incredible nourishment. There are many flowers, birds, and a great playlist. The meal started with a gratis tiny cup of tasty butternut squash soup. I requested a chicory salad because when is chicory a menu star? It's no surprise that this salad was good. The leaves were dotted with tangy goat cheese and gems of pomegranate seeds. Chicory was the star. I had the fish tacos, three dressed in adobo seasoning, a recommendation over the grilled sea bass special. The plate had three small spoons filled with guac, salsa verde, and the most incredible salsa macha. The salsa macha had notes of chocolate that paired well with the adobo seasoned fish. Don't miss this! The chile relleno was filled with quinoa and veggies, plated on top of two sauces. The flavors were really tasty and I appreciated the thoughtful vegetarian option that highlighted seasonal flavors. I walked in knowing I wanted cheesecake for dessert but then learned a favorite was their flan. I switched with no regrets. This flan was better and nothing like anything I've had before. If you like flan and love coconut, this is for you. The cocktails were so good. The martini was different, I loved this passion fruit margarita, the watermelon juice with tequila was refreshing, and they had great local beer options. I was very happy with this lovely meal. Service was wonderful. Please tip your servers; cash is preferred. They work hard and make all the efforts for a memorable meal.

Thai. Yes the place serves that and other type of asian fare including sushamai (I'm too lazy to…read moresee how its spelled). All fresh. Thai though is the young dog, shepherd like, loving, that hangs there as well as a sibling, a French bull terrier. Yep both owned by the owners. Add in a wheelchair designed vehicle for a chicken who chills near the bar area and you start to gain a whole new experience and love. It's total open concept, modern with a nice breeze to boot. Covered no less, a plus these days. From the farm-acy to the happy chickens and eggs, you feel as though you are entering shangri-la. As you check out the menu, the owner brings over a sliced egg roll, four finger sized items with diced mushroom, chicken and other items. A Dipping sauce you want yo take home with you, or at least a quart to use. It's a warm welcome to the palette. The spouse selected the garden vegetables curry. She loved that it wasn't the standard fare of potatoes, carrots and onions. She went spice level three, and liked the level. For me, I would have gone 5. Still it was a winner. I went pad Thai with Shrimp. I liked that the veggies were the star here along with the noodles and shrimp and not a load of tamirand which you find way too often at Thai places. Serving sizes are large, you will take home leftovers. For those who are looking for a place to unwind, you will find it here. I say this not as a tourist, or one stopper but someone who lives permanently in Pescadero. It's easy to get to, if you are coming up from Cabo on the 19, once you get to Pescadero, right after the OxxO on the right, go right. It's the 2nd road on the left. There is a blue sign pointing to it. If you go past the town's one gas station you have gone too far. For those coming from La Paz or Todos Santos head down the 19 into Pescadero. Right after rhe gas station, it's on your left hand side, take a left. The blue sign pointing towards the restaurant will be your second left. Tips 1. This is a cash only operation, they also take zeille and Venmo. Even though we do Venmo, I went zeille. 2. It's dirt road here. 3. Pricing aligns to what you see nowadays in other places. This is a family owned business and the folks who serve and feed you are from the community. Thus you are making a difference not just with environment, but the community and those who reside and work there. 4. Buy a sweatshirt. It's for a good cause. We did. The place is closed on Mondays and like many places in the area will shut down for a month due to the low season (in this case the rainy time) for September. But opens back up in early October. Enjoy!

Apparently completely redone, very cute outdoor ambiance…read more Off the beaten path so you have to search for it or know about it. Won't just drive by and see it. Food is quite vast as I'm not sure there is an identity, there is Thai, various Asian and fresh seafood. We opted for some of both. Fried rice, good flavor good portion. We asked for no onions but it had green onions all over/in it. The woman explained she thought we were only talking about white/yellow onions. Aguachile - fresh, but very spicy with serranos it really had us tearing up. Delicious, just be prepared. Carlito was nice and friendly, they are happy to help explain dishes. NO CREDIT CARDS, cash only and the prices are very expensive. We payed 2250 for lunch for 2 with one cocktail each.
