Despite the gentrification going on in HLP, York blvd still has tons of businesses that are real head scratchers. Do we really need this many party supply stores? York Blvd has literally, I kid you not, 231 party rental shops. I know, I counted them. The only thing that outnumbers them are the low cost insurance places. My wife and I needed 10 square tables, 80 chairs , balloons and some tablecloths for our baby shower a week ago and we used Juniors. Two reasons we we used them 1. Hella Cheap! 2. The side of their store sports a mustached Dora the Explora mural. This is an Old school mom n pop shop that provides great customer service. I don't plan on having a bunch of people at our house again anytime soon, but should we ever need 10 square tables, 80 chairs , balloons and some tablecloths I won't hesitate to use Juniors. read more

If I could rate this place a ZERO I definitely would !!!! I came in asking to get some balloons with helium for my 18th birthday party the balloons didn't even last 4 hours !!! I came back the next day telling the lady (owner) that the balloons didn't last ( I brought them with me ) she told me she couldn't do anything keep in mind this are 76 balloons plus the two number that are the one and the eight she said it's bc they were cheap I told her she hadn't tied them down properly she asked me to untied one and I did in front of her!!! She then started to make excuses to why she couldn't give me my money back ... long story short the costumer service is horrible and the job was done horrible too !!!! read more

We have shopped at Juniors for at least a decade, renting tables and purchasing balloons for birthday parties. On Saturday afternoon, we purchased a large foil number balloon and two latex balloons filled with helium, along with a weight and drove straight to a park a few miles away for a birthday party. The cost was $21 which seemed steep, but what made it untenable is that the large number balloon and a latex balloon popped on the way to the park. The last remaining latex balloon had lost most of its air. We called the shop and explained what happened -- went back to the shop to pick up replacements -- and were charged again! I want to give some grace for a possible language barrier. But when we returned to the shop for replacement balloons within about an hour of our original purchase -- I was just dumbstruck that payment was asked for again. We will never go back. read more

I did the $100 party special here, dozen balloons, piñata, 30 chairs, 3 tables, and a jumper. It was a great deal for all that we got! And for that I would give them 5 stars, but the experience is a different story. The woman helping me at the front desk was amazing, she was very helpful and attentive, but the balloons started popping before I even left the store. Also, they stopped floating halfway through the day. Problem number two, the jumper house was almost 3 hours late. It was scheduled to arrive at 12:00pm, it didn't get there until close to 3:00pm. I had to call Junior's 6 different times. I felt bad calling, because they use someone else to deliver it, but at the same time, I needed the jumper house there early, because I rented it for a party that was starting early. They did not even offer to take off some the $100 I paid. The women who delivered it were totally badass though, one of them was wearing 5 inch cheetah print heels with the craziest long finger nails, and she was unloading this crazy heavy inflatable! It almost made up for the thing being 3 hours late. Overall, it was a good deal, and I would consider using them again, but I would schedule delivery for at least a few hours prior, and try to get nicer balloons. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but yelp doesn't let me! 5 stars for the woman helping me in the front. 2 stars for jumper house. read more

UPDATE: The merchant's son called me and is trying to resolve the issue. It seems like they are now trying to get to the bottom of this, which I appreciate. But, it took a push from me and some persistance to get them to act. NEVER SHOP HERE!! HERE IS WHY... These merchants accidentally (I assume) charged my debit card twice for a $113 purchase. I believe the merchant thought the first transaction didn't go through so even though I hesitated I entered my pin again when asked. Needless to say, later that evening I checked my account and found that two transactions went through for my one purchase. The store had already closed for the day so I immediately called Wells Fargo and filed a claim (thank goodness I did!). Something in my gut told me this mom and pop might not be sophisticated enough to deal with a customer service issue such as this. What a surprise (not) that the very next morning when I brought it to the attention of the merchant they would deny it happened. There is a language barrier so my conversation was with a child (maybe 13 years old?). They said they would "call their bank" to check on the situation and call me in five minutes. They literally called me back five minutes later. WTF??? We all know that an issue such as this would take much longer than a five minute phone call to the bank. And guess what? "The bank" told them that no, I was not charged twice. THIEVES!! I've bought all my kid's pinatas here for the past five years but I never will again. read more

Excellent piñata selection! Normal-sized (though still way bigger than what you'd find at Party City) ones go for $17, and you can get outrageously jumbo-sized ones for $25. They even had Donald Trump piñatas if you need to let out a little political frustration. They used a Square reader, so I had no problems paying with a card. read more
