Knowing this, I replied with a ridiculous low-ball amount saying that the project probably will cost me more. I repeatedly asked for a formal proposal on the company form and the estimator continued to try to "play" with me by offering to text me a dollar amount or write that amount on a piece of paper that I supply.

After we paid him, I noticed he mulched a section that was supposed to be stones. We called him and he said, he misunderstood and to call him in 2 weeks and he would come back and put the stones. We've called him several times and left messages and he has not called us back. He did not trim the bushes in the front of the house, missed a few in the back yard and did not do very good at edging.
