We were already staying one night at Capitol Reef Resort, and it was super convenient to add it onto my room booking.  We chose the 4 hour hike and our guide was informational and friendly. There were only 4 people and 4 llamas plus our guide at our time slot. Our llamas Hugo and Benny were beautiful and kept us smiling the whole time. My hubby normally does not enjoy hiking but the 4 miles went by pretty quickly! We did get a few short 10-15 minute breaks. Our llama also carried the tables, chairs, food, and drinks for our picnic.  Our guide made us a Caprese sandwich and we got to enjoy the view with some cheesecake after. We got tons of beautiful pictures and videos with our llamas.  This was such a memorable experience and we were so happy to hike with the friendly and well behaved creatures.  When we hiked back to our hotel, we got to say good-byes by feeding the llamas some treats and taking more pictures.  I highly recommend this to anyone who loves llamas!

Capitol Reef is off the beaten path for most travelers, but it's a cool park and the rock formations are fascinating. We stayed at the Capitol Reef Resort (which was also great) and they had signs for llama hikes. What the heck is a llama hike?? My almost 60 year old Mom was a skeptic. I went on Instagram and found the company is rooted in Idaho, but have expanded across the country. I didn't have phone service so I did email contact and tried to use the hotel phone. Within minutes I got a response! This was 15 hours notice and they said we were in. AWESOME. So the llamas come up over the hill and I'm like -- this is amazing already and it only got better from there. Our guide, Jessiny, was so kind, knowledgeable and treated us to a wonderful 2 hour walk/hike in the washes of Capitol Reef, an area hardly traversed. Also, the guide/hike was just us! They do this private reservation thing so it's just your booking and the guide -- what?! All for $180?? What a steal. Let's get to the llamas. My skeptical mother was smitten within minutes. They are these giant, fluffy, adorable creatures that want to cuddle, walk with you and just chill while you walk around the outskirts of Capitol Reef. It's like having a giant camel-like dog by your side. You can put your stuff in their packs and feed them treats. It's the absolute BEST. Our guide was also super cool about making stops, getting water and taking pictures. She was also attuned to our pace and energy levels. The whole experience was outstanding and it made memories forever. Do this while you are here, it was worth every penny. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I miss my llama already.

The staff and owners were friendly and accommodating, making sure that our stay was memorable. The grounds are perfectly manicured. The views are stunning, with the Tetons in the distant background. My family stayed here for nine nights. Beware! They book "buddy spots" and follow a first come…read morefirst served for the 50amp plug at the pedestal. Due to the fact that someone was there "first" we were without 50amp power for 5 nights with temps in the high 90's-100. We had reserved and paid for a 50amp spot. When the "buddy" left we plugged into the 50amp plug, but then another "buddy" pulled in!! Well, we had our RV plugged into the 50 amp and our new neighbor was NOT happy. He actually threatened to unplug us! The front desk and maintenance personnel were very friendly and nice. After complaining about paying for 50amps and not getting it, I was reimbursed $10 a night for the five nights we didn't have the 50amps. The laundry and bathrooms were clean. The location was perfect for our itinerary for the area. I wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience with the electricity as stated above and the daily outages of power. I don't understand why they would keep putting people in the "buddy" spot knowing they can't provide the electricity for it, just seems they are asking for bad reviews and unsatisfied customers.

There are restrooms and play areas for the kids. Plenty of beach space room to put your pop-ups up. Plenty of easy parking almost right on the beach. The water is pretty fresh with minimal lake weed. You can also fish here as long as you have your fishing license. Clean beach lots of fun.

Gas carts and gravel cart paths are "muni-esque", but again, the course was flat, fun with good bends and long grass hazards to keep you sharp on your game. The greens feel like velvet but are also have some rough spots. This course is probably one of the better courses you are going to find in the area if you are looking to play. It has 27 holes, broken into three 9 hole options. On this Friday in July, we showed up with no tee time reservation and were able to go out for 9 holes at 4pm with a cart for I think $52 for both my husband and I. The three legs of this golf course are woven together so tightly, having never played it before and being unfamiliar with course, I did feel that our experience was part "golf outing", part "brain game," because some of the tee boxes were almost impossible to find based on twisty cart paths, long grass and only somewhat helpful signage. Shane in the pro shop was fun and light hearted and proud of Teto Lakes Golf Course. McDonalds Corporation was having a large event when we were there, thus why there was only one of the 9 hole options available to us to play. I also got a 20% sale discount on a great pair of Skechers golf shoes, which was a bonus to my golfing day. So there is a pro shop, there are golf carts (gas), there are locker rooms (dated) and a snack shack for food. So it has all you really need, although a bit dated and with a slightly rural feel. But with that, you could not ask for nicer staff and folks to be around to play a game. All in all, this is not Bandon Dunes nor what I am even use to in Vegas, but it was worth having our clubs in our car to play a round. It was fun!
