I set an appointment with them online, which was fast and simple. They actually came over an hour earlier and were ready to go. The two guys got my big couch out of my place so quick. Everyone I came into contact with was responsive, polite and timely (even a bit early) but their process for determining a cost is unknown, leaving a customer to wonder if the price is fair. Basically a crew shows up at your door, looks at your job and throws out a price. In my case, I started with a small pile of left over lumber and railing from a shed repair I had done earlier. The entire mess wouldn't fill up the back of a small pick up. I moved the entire pile to the end of my driveway, giving the crew easy access from the street in which they could toss it in their truck with ease. Upon their arrival, the driver looked at the job and gave me a price that was three times what I've paid a previous (although independent hauler) to remove debris. It wasn't Junk Kings minimum price as advertised on the website so I couldn't understand how he came to a price at all. In the end, I needed the debris out of my driveway so we agreed upon a price but I'd recommend that any person considering the use of their service should ask some very direct questions about how they determine a price for a job. Otherwise you feel sized up as to what you can afford or tolerate. read more

These guys are great ! I had an old decrepit 12 X 9' wooden storage shed on the back of my other property that was full of (mostly) junk and hadn't really been used in years. I called them and a rep came out and gave me an estimate--he thought it would take slightly over 2 trucks to haul it all away, and that was what it wound up being. The estimate was reasonable, considering that it seemed to be a rather nasty job. We set a date (yesterday) and I was scheduled off work so I could be there. There was a slight scheduling glitch that was apparently their fault, but a quick call to the owner resolved it and they showed up in early afternoon. There were 2 trucks and four crew members--Gary, Rondo,Jason and Evan. All of them worked hard from beginning to end and didn't take any breaks--about 3 and 1/2 hours altogether.They did a great job cleaning up. And they were easy to deal with and talk to. They take most forms of payment--I used a credit card. I highly recommend them for jobs that you may not be able to tackle yourself. read more

I had a garage full of construction debris and other miscellaneous items from over 2 years of doing work on my house. I finally decided it was time to clean out the garage so I could park a car in the garage along with store landscaping tools and patio furniture during the winter time. I did some research and even received a quote from Rumpke for dumpster rental that was going to cost over $600. I ended up renting a Mini Dumpster from Junk King. It turned out to be the most stress-free rental. I booked the Mini Dumpster online to be delivered on a Friday afternoon and to be picked up Monday morning. After I booked the dumpster, I received an email within 24 hours confirming my appointment. The Friday of when the dumpster was arriving, I received a call 30 minutes prior to Junk King dropping off the dumpster. Junk King did not require someone to be present during drop-off or pick-up, which is a huge help since they dropped it off and picked it up while I was at work. When I received the call on Friday, the driver asked where I would like the dumpster placed. I explained that my driveway is extremely tight and there is a bay window that extends to the edge of the driveway with my neighbors privacy fence on the edge of my driveway on the other side. I stated that I would like the dumpster in the back of the driveway where my garage is (past the bay window). But I also understood how tight my driveway was and stated that it would be perfectly fine if they left it right in front of where the bay window started. The driver was not only able to get it past the bay window, but he left it 5-feet from the garage which made loading the dumpster extremely easy. I then received a call Monday morning 30 minutes prior to them picking it up. Within an hour of Junk King picking up the dumpster, I had received my receipt that stated the full amount charged to my card via email (which was more than half of what Rumpke would have cost me). I would HIGHLY recommend using Junk King for any service as they are very professional, have extremely competitive pricing, and make it hassle-free for the end customer. Moving my mom out to California and trying to deal with remodeling the house from another state has been really tough, particularly in having to deal with idiots like U-Haul (utter morons) and Apria Health Care (a blight on our once great nation). Junk King was a real bright spot in all this mess - this business is run as if someone actually gives a crap about it, and takes pride in the service provided. The website scheduling feature is awesome and *actually works* unlike so many online tools. The Junk King team called before they came, called to ask a question while they were there, and then called to confirm they'd removed the item. It was a little pricey, but well worth it for the awesome service - you guys rule, well done! I used Junk King twice in the same weekend. After my mom died I had to come from out of state to empty her house . They sent crews of three people. Each and every one of them was professional and very helpful . They were patient and kind . Compassionate to my indecision about my mom's belongings . I appreciate Andrew , Drew and Stephan from day 1! I filled an entire truck the first day. They spent half the day with me ! It was definitely worth the cost. I received a coupon and scheduled them again for the morning before I flew back out of town. I am thoroughly appreciative of their assistance with my project and would recommend them to anyone needing help with junk removal. SHADY HUSTLERS!! Called about pickup of a few items, and was quoted $99; mentioned the $100 Yelp coupon and they said that would cover it. When they arrive, they say that minimum for any load is $150. Was able to "negotiate" the $100 plus $40 cash, which is all we had. Didn't get a receipt (of course), so curious whether that just went right into their pocket. Next time will go with an honest company, and suggest that you do the same! read more
