I had an appointment scheduled on 1/19 between 11-1pm. Everything to be disposed of had already been placed in the driveway, to make it quick and simple for the team. I had to call customer service 3 different times, to which they explained that the driver would be calling me to update their arrival time. They never once called and never showed up. The Nashville service/call center/drivers will not call back and the person who answered my call was kind of a jerk. He acted like this is my fault. We have a gigantic hot tub on a second story deck that we want removed from our rental property. My boyfriend had attempted to demo and remove this but failed miserably. Friday of last week I hired these guys to remove it. This was not going to be an easy job. Eli came out on Friday to provide an estimate. He was upfront and honest, informed me that they usually charge a certain amount but this job was going to be a ton of labor. He also told me that he didn't even want to take on the job because it was almost too much for them to handle and he didn't want to add damage to our deck. I ended up telling him that I wanted to hire him. Eli and Josh showed up today (Monday) and completed this job that we scheduled. They did a fantastic job. I have zero complaints regarding these two. These guys came out and completed a job for me that I was unsure of how to accomplish. They provided a quote and they stuck to it. Thank you! I do however want to point out that I did have an issue with a man, Norris, from this company calling on Friday when Eli was on his way to my home. Seemed very sketchy, unprofessional and I'm glad my home has a security system with cameras. This man seemed to want to take the job out from under the guys that were coming to my home. This made me feel very unsafe and I questioned the legitimacy of this company. Upon arrival, I let Eli know about this other employee calling and he informed the owner. The owner didn't do anything about it, didn't even call me to apologize which is why I gave 3 stars. Norris called me several times that day asking strange questions and he was very pushy. It was almost enough for me to have the police present when Eli showed up on Friday, but I am military and I do pack the heat. read more

Ta Da! two mattresses and a Fridge gone in 10 minutes. Although the appointment-making process was pleasant enough, the rest of the experience was a zero. I had a 2-hour appointment window. When they didn't show up in that window, I reached out and was told that the driver would reach out soon. After a half hour with nothing from said driver, I reached back out and was told that they would find out what was up. After another half hour, I reached out yet again and was told that there was an issue with the truck and they'd have to reschedule. While I understand that issues arise (if it was even true in this case), it's simple to communicate that and not make me wait around and have to chase them down. And no, I didn't reschedule. Booked an appointment for them to remove a washing machine. We set a time frame between 3 and 5 pm. At 1:45 I got a text saying that the truck was too big and they would have to reschedule. I called the office to find out what was going on, and they had no clue. They said they would reach out to the driver and have him call me. At 2:40 the driver called and said that the description on their GPS told them that the truck would not fit in the condo parking lot. I asked if they had been yet, as they had not called to tell me they were on the way. They had not, but they had gone on to the next appointment. I told them that the front door entrance is on a city street and an 18 wheeler has pulled up there before. If they had called, I could have told them that, and would have made pick-up much easier. And I noted that I was scheduled for 3-5 pm, why couldn't I be the next stop. What followed was a conversation about broken trucks and one in Clarksville, all I needed to do was reschedule. I countered with the fact that I had taken off of work to make this happen today, and there were 2 hours of my appointment window remaining. He started in on something else, and I stopped him and asked him to just cancel the appointment and I'd call another company since Junk King seemed to be having issues. He wished me a "pleasant day" but, I could tell by his voice that he didn't mean it. If you are considering Junk King, call College Hunks instead. read more

Took a 2-hour lunch to be at home for my assigned appointment window of 12-2pm and never received a call from the local crew. Had to talk to customer service (which was fine, despite being across the country) 3 separate times before being told there was a tire blow out on the truck and that nobody would be showing up. It's literally nobody's fault about the tire, but if that happens you gotta tell the customer so they don't have to blow half a day staying home from work. Found an independently working junk removal service that took my washer, dryer, 70 inch tv, and a mattress for 80 dollars less than junk king. I'm really surprised to find that Junk Kings don't have any reviews. Since I'm the first one to review J.K. here on Yelp, I'll tell you all you need to know. I went online, made an appointment for a free estimate the next morning at 10:00 a.m.. The next morning at 8:30 I got a call from the office asking if I still wanted the 10:00 appointment or did I want them to come now. I kept the 10:00 slot. They were here right on time. We had an enormous load of cardboards boxes, a front loading washing machine, a dead scanner, TV, etc. ( two full loads in a huge dump truck ). They took all the cardboard and recyclables first, then came back for the appliances. After the mess was gone, they swept where they had removed all the items! These guys are complete professionals. We expected the bill to be over $1,000.00. ( We had a LOT of junk from moving / unpacking from 3 separate places ) Our bill was $727.00. We will definitely be calling these guys again! read more

This is the 2nd time I have used these guys! I woke up this morning and, tired of looking at the ever growing pile (our fault for missing the Earthsavers truck in Forest Hills every week....ooops!) of recyclables in the garage, decided that this was the day that pile was going to be hauled away....somehow!!! I remembered these guys from my last moving experience when they cleaned out my garage and called them up. I asked when the soonest was they could come remove the recyclables from my garage and the customer service rep said that TODAY between 12N and 2P was available. I booked it with the request that they try and be there closer to 12N. The rep said NO Problem! I received a phone call at 11:30 saying they were on their way, so I left work to meet them. They arrived at 12:20. The crew chief was the same guy who had cleaned out my garage when I used them before! His name was Norris and he knows his stuff. Norris explained their process to me once again and gave me a VERY FAIR quote. Then they got to work!!! He and his helper loaded up all the bags of recyclable bottles, tin cans, old empty cardboard boxes and newspapers, swept out my garage, wiped down the work counter space and were gone by 1pm. I am impressed with these guys yet again and will absolutely refer them to anyone I know needing their services! read more

After we noticed they had our email address wrong we called to have it corrected and somehow even that was too difficult to accomplish without a bad attitude. UNRELIABLE! DO NOT USE! We made an appointment for this company to come by and haul some items a few days ahead of the time we needed it gone. They set the appointment for an arrival between 11am-1pm. They called and confirmed that morning that the times were correct. They did not show up and when we called them at 1:30pm, were told that they would arrive within 30-40 minutes. Over two hours later they still hadn't arrived and we called them back. If you're looking for fast and convenient but don't really care what you pay, this is a great company to go with. We called on a Sunday afternoon and were able to set up an appointment for that Monday afternoon. They were on time, courteous, and very efficient. However, the full price we were charged as more than 25% higher than the upper limit of the estimate range we were given on the phone when we booked. Because it sounded like from the website that the price was based on the amount of space our "junk" occupied, we over-estimated size in our descriptions to try to get a higher-end estimate. We called a moderate sized TV stand an entertainment center, called a small console table with 3 file size drawers a file credenza, and called a very lightweight, small metal kitchen shelf a baker's rack. We were given a discount, for reasons that were not explained, off the full price however, it was still 20+% higher than the high end of the quote. Very surprising. For my interaction with Junk King, they were nothing more than a bait and switch scam. I sent pictures of exactly what was needing to be picked up. I got a quote of $259-$379. First of all, that's already a huge spread. $379 is over 46% more money than $259. When they showed up, they said, I don't know who gave you that quote, but it will cost "way more" than that.
