It is not easy to move a couch out of my place as there are narrow doorways so I know it took a lot out of them to have to lift it up over their heads to get it out. I sent a request to Junk Smiths at 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning to ask them about removing and disposing of a spa that was no longer working. Sean called me within a few minutes and set up an appointment for his guys to come out between 11:00 and 1:00. Albert and Eric arrived a little after 12 :00 and gave us an estimate. They assured us the job would not take very long. We accepted the estimate and they got started on the job. Within 45 minutes, they had cut up the hot tub, placed it in their truck for removal and cleaned up the area where the hot tub had been sitting. The area is cleaner now than before they even started the job! Not only were they efficient, they were both very friendly and courteous. Hello, I received their service and it was great! I requested to have a refrigerator, a queen size mattress, and a dinner table that was taken apart to removed and disposed from my apartment. It cost me a total of $190, because it is based on how much space it would fill their truck. It's a good deal compared to the other company's rate. What's really nice is that they told me that try to donate things that are still salvageable, like the refrigerator. They're also really nice. They came out and quoted us $3,200 to move some tile and junk from the side of a small construction project. I asked them again to quote only the trash on the side of building and they quoted me over $2k alone just for that. I ended up paying two guys for a couple of hours and $150 in dump fees. It ended up costing me $700. Myself and my contractor both agree that the pricing they quoted us was a complete gouge, absurd and borderline offensive. My theory is they quote "on the spot" to put pressure on you to just get the job done. My advice, send photos and shop out the quote to multiple companies before you schedule one to come out and quote on the spot. These guys are ridiculous. read more

Great service. I had a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment plus a 2 car garage to get all the extras left behind out which took up 2¼ truckloads The men explained everything and how the pricing worked. Gave me a conservative estimate and did their best to pack in their truck to keep the final cost below it, as best they could. They move quickly, had a good game plan and executed it well. I received a confirmation from Precise, then I started receiving text messages from Junk Smiths telling me that Precise is unable to take my appointment and I have to go through Junk Smiths. My original 12pm-2pm appointment was moved to 1pm-3pm, the. To 3pm. It is now 5pm and I'm told that the movers are still "on there way". Do not make an appointment with Junk Smiths unless you have your entire day to wait for them to arrive. I also finally received a call from the movers, which was an accident I'm assuming, of him laughing with the other movers in the car and talking about a lady standing on the side of the road. Sean's response should tell you enough. I was told by their employee Josh on the phone after my 1-3pm window was pushed to 3pm that the movers would be there at 3pm, not a two hour window. There calls are recorded so they can go back and listen to me ask if it would be 3pm or a two hour window. Just consider this when booking. read more

I called Junk Smiths this morning to ask them if they could come to Dana Point to remove a huge area rug. Brian and Omar were out my house within 30 minutes of that call. They are the NICEST guys. They moved a very heavy couch, rolled up the carpet, took it away and then returned the couch to its original spot. They were here for a grand total of 7 minutes. TLDR version: scheduled next day pick up, they came early, gave us a free quote, took a bunch of furniture and junk from our garage, were super polite and the cost was at least comparable if not cheaper than 3 other companies we called. Only took an hour and a half to get everything done. Highly recommend. I called several junk removal places on a Saturday hoping to get a bunch of stuff out of our garage. Junk Smiths was the only place that didn't have a call center answer the phone. I talked to an actual employee who knew everything about their trucks and was familiar with our city. They offered a free estimate with no strings attached and could come the next day. The earliest other places could come was Monday and none of them offered a complimentary estimate. So I scheduled for Junk Smiths to come by on Sunday between 12 pm and 2. They texted me the following morning to let me know that they were coming at the scheduled time. Then around 10 am they called me and said they could come early if possible. I said no problem because we had a bunch of stuff to do, and they showed up about 30 minutes after I hung up. Jacob and Jonathan showed up with their green truck and were super polite. They shook our hands and introduced themselves. We went through all the stuff we wanted them to take in our garage. We had moved all of the pieces to one side of our garage the day before: a twin bed and mattress, sectional sofa, headboard, two ikea desks, a large dresser, full size refrigerator, two full size filing cabinets and some various junk. It seemed like a lot to us, but Jacob estimated that it would only fill half of their truck. The cost was very reasonable, and they even gave us a little discount. Other places gave us estimates over the phone of that were at least 30 percent higher. Granted, they didn't actually see how much stuff we had, but I knew Junk Smiths was at least being an honest broker. I agreed to the price estimate and the guys started filling their truck. It was already half full from a previous pick up, so they told me they would fill as much as they could and then come back for the rest. Within 15 minutes, they had most of our stuff in the truck. All that was remaining was the fridge, dresser and filing cabinets. Jacob and Jonathan said they would drop everything off and come back for the rest. I asked them how long it would take. They said about an hour. It turns out that their junk drop off was close by, so they were back with an empty truck within 45 minutes. 10 minutes later and everything was out of our garage. Jacob and Jonathan were really nice guys and they move quickly. We paid by card, gave them a small tip for being such great guys, and they were gone by 12:30.
