I had an emergency situation where I needed to have old furniture and junk removed immediately from a relative's apartment that had recently passed away. I initially called a company that I had used in the past for a similar situation, but learned that the company did not service the area in Chicago where my relative lived. I'm not kidding when I say that my discovery of Junk Vets was divine intervention. I happened to see a Junk Vets truck pass by my house as I was looking out of the window, just days before the furniture and junk had to be removed from my relative's apartment. I immediately looked up the telephone number for Junk Vets on the internet and gave them a call. I really was expecting the same response from Junk Vets that I had received from the other company; that they did not service the area of Chicago where my relative lived, or that I would be quoted some ridiculously high price for the removal of the junk given the area and urgency of situation. As it turns out Junk Vets did provide service to the area where I needed it, and the price quoted by Hector for the removal was fair and reasonable given the amount of furniture and junk that had to be hauled out. The service that Hector and Junk Vets provided was well beyond my expectations. Not only was Hector willing to schedule and pick up the junk on the only day that my schedule permitted (Sunday), once they arrived he and his partner helped to pack up and discard the remaining trash that was not being hauled out by his company. Had a basement to be cleaned out. Old Christmas trees, boxes of toys, old clothes, dry wall, paneling and other left over materials form a remolding job. They took what needed to be taken and did not disturb the rest. Asked if this or that was to go, was reassuring they cared enough to make sure the right stuff was thrown out. They cleaned up and swept the floor and were punctual and job was accomplished in a quick and efficient way. They were respectful and worked hard. I own a 4-flat on the near northwest side of Chicago, and had a tenant move out leaving quite a mess. After I got the mess outside (a couch, carpeting that I had to pull up, a refrigerator that had to be disposed of and more), I called Junk Vets. Hector came the next day with the truck, and in about 2 hours had everything on the truck (including the refrigerator, which had to be brought down from the 2nd floor!).
