A traffic-related incident, which again I had to reach out to him in order to learn about it. 3rd appointment: no show, no communication. After the previous failed attempts, I requested his earliest availability. Again, he did not show up and this time failed to legibly communicate the reason. Very pleasantly surprised with these guys! I contacted three companies and sent a detailed description/picture of a small junk pile I needed hauled off. One company had a minimum $95 charge, the other quoted me $75, and Junkster agreed to do it for $50 that very same afternoon. I contacted them via their website/email and their responses were extremely prompt (within 20 minutes or so). At the last minute I remembered I also had a small carpet cleaner I wanted to get rid of, and they said that wouldn't change the price. Very nice of them! They were very quick to remove the junk I needed gone, and they let me pay with a credit card right at my own door. They also mentioned you didn't need to be home to pay, that they could email an invoice. The two guys that came were polite and professional. I would definitely use them again. read more

I found them on Craigslist, but they had a solid website, too, so I checked them out. I needed to take away the old washer and move the new washer from the garage to the second floor. I also wanted to get rid of an old TV and monitor. They offered the lowest rates and they came the same day. They exceeded my expectations in every way. They arrived on time. They disconnected the old washer and tested the new one to make sure it worked. They didn't hit the walls even on the staircase. They were polite and professional in every way. They recycle. These guys were awesome!! I'm moving for the first time in more than 10 years and had a bunch of junk to get rid of. Stuff to donate. Flood damaged stuff. The works. They arrived and had my stuff cleared out in about 15 minutes!! (Think nearly a carport full). They were about $200 less than the other guys and were professional and courteous. I had contacted several entities about removing some post construction debris from my home in Austin. One wanted $900-$1300 based on photos I had sent, description and dimension of the debris. Arrrgh, too rich for my budget ! The other two were based on their schedule which was what I would call "Island Time" or we'll get to it when it's convenient for us. I called Junkster Hauling & Recycling via Yelp. They responded quickly and based on my photo's, etc. gave me A quote of $500. Woo hoo! So we set up a day and time. About 15 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive they said that they would be 2 hours late as they were running behind. Good business practice; if you can't make it on time, let the customer know! About an hour and 45 minutes later they arrived. They surveyed the task, confirmed what needed hauling off, backed the trailer up and started loading it. They filled a 16'x4'x4' trailer in less than an hour. I was very impressed with their work ethic and professionalism ! Kudo's to Tommy, April and another gentleman; whose name I didn't catch. Called Junkster to haul off a small amount of construction debris. When I called them I told them it was less than a pickup truck load, and they quoted me a price of $75 on the phone. Then they showed up, and to my amazement they said a "pickup truck" is only as high as the top of the bed of a truck, which is 1.5 feet. Since a couple things I had were a little taller than that, they bait-and-switched me saying it would count as "two pickups", so $150. Even using their "top-of-bed" sizing, a standard pickup bed is 8'x5.33'x1.5' and equals about 64 cubic feet. My pile was a few pieces of wall paneling (large but flat), two countertops with sinks (taller than their 1.5 ft limit), and two small vanities (they were already broken down to just wood scraps), plus 3 30 gallon (4 cubic foot) trash bags with sheetrock scraps and debris. As far as total space consumed, my pile was probably less than 40 cubic feet (5'x4'x2' not counting the larger dimensions of the flat paneling). Also, the earliest they could come out was 3 days after I called them, and they were late arriving (although less than 30 minutes, so not terrible). To their credit, they did call me to let me know they were running late, which I appreciated. But they ended up wasting my time staying home from work to meet them, and waiting 3 days for them to come when I could have gone and dumped it myself the same day I called them if I knew they were going to try to gouge me for $150. Followup - I borrowed a friends shortbed (6.5ft rather than standard 8ft bed) pickup truck to haul the stuff to the Williamson County dump, and just as an exercise I figured I'd see if it would all fit under the rim of the bed. I folded up the paneling and hit the sinks with a hammer, and without even taking more than a couple extra minutes, everything fit under the lip of the shortbed except for two pieces of wood that were a little longer that I didn't bother cutting in half (since they would have fit in a standard 8ft bed). And this was in an undersized pickup, and there were still some pockets of space with room for more stuff. Anyone else interested, be aware that the Williamson County dump is offering reduced fees (half off the cubic feet rate and some fees waived totally) through September because of the recent flooding damage. Not impressed at all. Certainly won't be calling them again. read more

Almost half vs. what other companies charge. They accept Square and Venmo for payment. They also were able to come sooner than they originally quoted, due to a cancellation. We then scheduled a time to remove the materials the following day, no one showed up nor has anyone returned the 10+ phone calls I've made inquiring if I needed to call someone else since we have a deadline of when we need everything removed which they were aware of. No way to give a zero rating...or I would. Did some yard work and had a bunch of tree branches to haul away and no truck of my own. Found these guys on Craigslist and got a quote. Price was reasonable, so I had them come out. The driver that showed up was driving a 26ft Uhaul and said all the other trucks and trailers were busy, but he could help. That was until he opened the back of the cargo area and it was 95% full already. It was clear my tree branches were not going to fit. Instead of offering to come back later and take everything, the driver complained the entire time he was there about how the guy on the phone misquoted me. He continued to say that he was making no money and he would have charged me three times the amount I was quoted. He even debated a photo I sent to the guy on the phone and I had to show him proof of what I had sent, requesting to haul away. He then took ONLY a quarter of what I had to haul off, since the truck was now full, and bartered with me on price before he would offer to come back. I ended up agreeing to pay even more than originally quoted, just to get the job done, but he asked for half of the initial quote up front. Unwilling, but without a choice, I paid the first half and watched him drive off with 85% of my items still by the road. I paid way too much to listen to someone complain the entire time and not even finish the job I hired them for. I ended up having the trash company haul off the rest...at no charge, at a later date. Very unprofessional and ended up ripping me off with the price quoted for the amount of work done. read more

These guys were great. I needed a couch hauled from my 3rd story apartment. There were only 2 small time frames in the next couple of days that would work for me so I was hoping they could fit me in. My new couch was being delivered between 10-2 on Saturday, and the guy I talked to said they could haul away the old one between 9-9:30 Saturday so I wouldn't have to go too long without a couch. Nice. The two men who showed up were polite and very efficient...even with a large, unwieldy couch that took some angling to get through the door, they were in and out in a few minutes. The guy made sure to thank me for my business which was nice and something you don't hear too often these days. The pricing is very fair and reasonable. The total was exactly what I was quoted on the phone, and even taking into account the 20% tip I gave it was still cheaper than the other quote I got.
