The food was awesome and service was kind. If I didn't want to explore other vegan spots in Copenhagen I'd totally go back.

Anyways, we tried the Pumpkin soup instead and it was really good! I was pleasantly surprised how full I was after the soup but it was very thick. The soup was topped with some fresh herbs, cauliflower and roasted nuts and came with two small pieces of bread on the side. The soup was very tasty and a decently sized portion but I would have never paid full price for it (85kr). The 2-for-1 deal was a good way to try the soup but unfortunately I don't think I'll get it again because of the price. I may go back to try the salads instead because many people around us had them and they looked amazing (and were around the same price as the bowl of soup). The cafe entrance is a little hard to find at first, but just go around the corner into the little alley way and you'll see the door on the side. Inside there are quite a few seats and the lighting is somewhat dim so it feels very cosy inside.

I was interested in this cafe due to a picture featured in my Denmark travel book…read more It is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Christianshavn.. (where I also wanted to visit Kirke.) on a cobblestoned street. "Café Wilder is one of the oldest and most charming cafés in Christianshavn, and it is always packed with high-spirited regulars. The atmosphere is relaxed, multicultural and multilingual." The food served at Wilder is very good- you will find Danish options such as cod, mussels, steak tartare, grilled duck sausage and burgers. I chose the Vegetarian burger made from Panko fried celery, bread crumbs, raclette cheese, sauerkraut cornichon, onion confit and special sauce. Pommes frites with aioli accompanied the burger. I opted to skip the raclette ( too strong a cheese for me) and the sauerkraut which I'm not a fan. I must admit, this is one of the best veggie burgers I have ever had.. I know it's a pretty powerful statement. Additionally, I dislike celery and was not going to order this, however, I took a chance. I was glad I did as I enjoyed every bite. I chose a Sauvignon Blanc to wash it down , and it too was delicious. The vibe here is very French bistro or if you are a New Yorker, it reminds me very much of Odeon in Lower Manhattan, which I love. There are other menu options which were not offered to me: The Board which consists of amuse bouche, entree and dessert served all day. The service was professional and kind.. I know there are rarely substitutions on the menu as the chef prepares to his vision. But I do wish there could have been a cheese substitute. That is a minor issue. I enjoyed eating in style and relaxing post another Danish tour. Take M1( yellow line) to Christshavn stop and walk toward Wildersgarde, @5 minute walk. It is located on a quiet street.

This particular location is in Tivoli Food Hall, and it is currently the only restaurant there that serves Danish foods. The menu included both classic and innovative flavors: potato, pork, fried fish, chicken salad, roast beef, herring, shrimp, smoked salmon, meatball, etcetera. I ordered one chicken-salad sandwich and one salmon-salad sandwich. The sandwiches had pretty appearances, fresh ingredients, and tasty flavors.

This was around 4:13 pm on a Saturday. We order three smorrebrod and we ate them in the Tivoli food hall. All were served on plates. The correct way to eat was with a fork and knife as we learned while watching an episode of Somebody Feed Phil. The chicken salad was undoubtedly our favorite. Lots of shredded chicken but overall smooth and tasty. We crumbled the bacon to add some texture and that was even better. The marinated salmon was ok but we liked the nice pop of flavor from the pomegranate seeds. I may try to add them at home to my smoked salmon. The egg and shrimp smorrebrod was tastier. We returned our empty plates back to the counter when we were finished. Not completely in love with open face sandwiches but may try again on a future return trip to Copenhagen.
