The school is relatively clean. As much as a school can be. Custodian staff do a good job and security keeps the school safe. No issues with safety. The security does a really good job honestly. Let me say that there school security is NOT a traffic controller. It is absolutely illegal to have vehicles block off a major road (Orange St), Not to mention there is PLENTY of parking inside but again, this security doesn't seem to know how to do her proper job and this school's administration seem to like breaking state rules/laws. All it takes is a phone call to the Unified District and the SDE and they'll get an earful. I work for operations for many school districts throughout SoCal and non of the schools have it as bad as this school. Something proper has to be done within state regulations as it is now becoming unsafe and a hazard for parents and children. DO BETTER!!

All the other teachers that we had to work with demonstrate a "I'm just here for a pay check"attitude. Rather than to be warm, helpful, caring and show concern for your child's success in school. Unfortunately, I can not say anything positive about the front office staff. On many occasions, I've witnessed the principals secretary Angel get pretty short, nasty and rude to parents. It seems like she is forced to smile and be nice to people. And every time I have to go in the there Angel is ALWAYS gossiping! She is either saying something negative about a parent, teacher or student. I believe that is so unprofessional. Not only in a work place, but especially at a school. That's why it's best to avoid the front office and just email the school. That way you don't have to deal with negative & cold attitudes.

A few rotten apples sure does ruin it for the teachers and staff that are passionate about what they do. Over the years there have been a number of incidents which have occurred, several meetings with the principal were held which amounted to nothing. Pure nonsense came out of the principles mouth so that we would be on our way. I have visited the school on several occasions, the office was in it utter chaos!!! The moment I entered the office door I counted at least eight students a few laying on the office floor!!! I literally had to step over a little girls head. I am insisting on changes being made!!! There is a lice epidemic in which my niece and nephews have come home with lice for the past two years!!! A year ago a student chopped off my nieces hair in the middle of class and now the student who was responsible for the incident is once again in her class!!! My nephews hands were bound behind his back with zip ties by his first grade teacher in front of the entire class!!! Because he was biting his nails!!! The teacher was reprimanded but later allowed back at the school. Today my nephew was punched in the eye by a fellow student, he was sent back to class and the excuse was that the incident would be investigated. This school is one of the worst I've ever encountered!!! Unfortunately it is the only school convenient for my brother and sister in laws hectic work schedules. However the children come first and changes will have to be made one way or another.

Hi, I won't say my name, but I am a 6th grader at Rosa Parks. This school has amazing teachers, but…read morethe way they treat non-whites is insane. Some kids use racial slurs, they curse, and they say things they aren't supposed to. Tons of bullying at this school. All they say is "oh yeah you can't do that" or give a warning, but they never really do anything. You can't defend yourself either! If someone hits you, you're supposed to say "you're in my personal space bubble, stop" or something like that. The food here is also disgusting! I have gotten multiple sicknesses and stomach aches from eating some of these foods here. When you don't eat your fruit and throw it away, THEY PICK IT OUT THE TRASH AND REUSE IT FOR THE NEXT DAY. Some of these "noon supervisors" are actually so mean. One of them took one look at a boy with a ponytail (because he had long hair) and she said "Why do you have a ponytail? That's for girls." The bathroom looks and smells horrible, the grass smells so bad, and some of these playground equipment is busted. Honestly, the teachers I've had are the saving grace of this school.
