Good school for biggining school children my little son really likes it and thats the most important part.

My girls and I are so blessed to be apart of this amazing school!!! We have had a rough two years with schooling and what has been going on in the world!!! We are still learning a routine and getting on tract but we are getting their. I can not express enough how grateful we are to be apart of this community!!! The communication between the office, teachers, students, and parents is impeccable! We are new this year and our transition has been flawless! I have a lot of questions as we have been through the ringer at previous schools do to covid and the office is always on top of it and ready to answer or help in anyway they can!!! Angela in the office has been my right hand person with this transition!!! Pastor Forest is always a joy to see every morning he truly does love his job and it shows!!! I have seen first hand how a teacher can make a difference in a child's life, we are only two months in and my daughter has crossed over to reading not being a chore!!! The most amazing and truly loving school. Every single staff member at HCS has a heart of gold. My son has the most amazing teacher who loves him as her own, and goes the extra mile constantly. I love how the school is so family involved and I am always welcome to attend school parties or even lunch with my child. The security is awesome and they know everyone and really make you feel safe and I know my child is safe while at school. Pastor Forrest is amazing. He knows every student by name, and my son will often come home excited saying Pastor Forrest had lunch with the students that day. The School Curriculum aligns with our Christian values. I know by experience that the teachers are caring and they have a strong desire of teaching about God and the School Curriculum. Wow, you really have lying issues. Even after letting 10 months pass, after all emotions have settled, I still felt strongly about letting the community know how involved you got in a personal family situation, because that is just insane. Still you speak about the situation with your limited knowledge on what my son's dad told you. Legal action wasn't taken by my son's dad. It was a divorce we were going through and you were just one of his "flying monkeys". He just used you like he uses other people to get what he wants from them. It is crazy for you to be talking about me not wanting my son's dad to see him. What do you know? Or talking about the decision between me and my son's dad not keeping him at HCS, and talking about my son starting over again. How are you getting so involved? Were you going to be part of our negotiations on paying part of that school bill? And then talking about my husband always "willing to come together". You absolutely had no right because for one, that was not your place, and for another you knew nothing! That is insane! Was I divorcing you or my husband, and why were you so involved? You literally knew us for about 3 months. I don't know what he was telling you, but you sure didn't handle this situation well. Did he tell you that I have several police reports on him kicking me and my kids out of our house on several occasions, at all hours of the day and night, or throwing a lamp at me when I was 6 months pregnant, and him going to jail for it, or cheating on me time and time again, or his drug problem, or me having to get a restraining order because of his threats that I better watch my back. I'm sure all you know is about the lies he told you. Maybe you should not get so personally involved to a point of bias. When I was pregnant with my son I even had to go to Harvest church to reach out for help because of the abuse endured by him. I believe if you are that easily manipulated by what someone tells you then you should not be in charge of leading or being trusted with children. You are definitely not a safe person. Everyone needs to know that you are a liar and there is no other way to put it. You NEVER made attempts to meet and there was NO constant refusals from me. We met once and that was because I requested to meet. Your reply is full of lies and I am even more shocked then before. I don't know what your problem is, but you will reap what you sow. Just reading your response tells me you have issues. Any other professional would not have responded like you have, or would ever act the way you did. I've read other reviews about you and you are always denying and never apologizing. My other kids went to HCS when Mr. Campbell was principal and it was such a blessing. Having this experience with you as the principal has been a nightmare. I have been going to Harvest Church for 25 years and you have been the only thing that has made my experience with Harvest a bad one. No matter how this has gone down, the enemy will be defeated. You honestly just need to be removed from leadership at HCS before you hurt another family. And you say you are willing to meet face to face. For what? I want everyone to know the truth, and this is how to do it. I am not lying about anything so I definitely have peace that the truth be told. I'm reviewing this school two years after we left, to share with you how it's affected my oldest, who went for seven years (K-6). I hope this helps you understand why I am so glad we chose Harvest Christian School. My son, now an 8th grader at Chemawa Middle School, appreciates the foundation laid for him at Harvest as it has served him well. He sees the majority of his classmates with vastly different lifestyles than how he's been raised (both academically and spiritually). I asked my son if he wishes he would have stayed in a Christian school environment, and he surprisingly said, "no dad, i'm glad I see how people are in the real world. Some are OK and some are definitely "sus," but I don't hang out with them." So apparently Harvest Christian School is indeed a bubble--and I'm totally ok with that for K-6. He's memorized so much scripture, including this one "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will" It makes me so happy to know that the Word of God guides his decisions now, outside of the bubble. My son was introduced to music here in 4th grade. He learned to read music and fell in love with classical music, especially Baroque (Bach, Pachelbel, Beethoven) because of this after school program. Now he plays his trumpet (5 years now), french horn, percussion, piano and is starting to write his own music. He plays the Tron Legacy soundtrack in my truck when we drive and tells me about the instruments being played. The teacher to kid ratio is good, and lots of parents help out. Crazy that on open house nights, with 24 kids in the class, 48+ parents (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc) show up to support their child. It's this focus on quality family interactions that is now my boy's "normal." Thank you Harvest parents for showing him example after example of a quality family unit. I know that's not Harvest Christian School's doing per se, but it's a value add for sure. Finally, I think the educators here could work ANYWHERE, but they are servant leaders first and foremost. Spend a day volunteering there and you will know it's not about the money, but a calling to be here and spread the love of Jesus to these kids. My son often comes with me to pickup my daughter (who is still attending) and takes about 30 minutes every time to stop in and chat with his favorite teachers. As far as the "school" i looked at for Josh it was one school and they said they spoke to you personally and heaven knows what you said to that principal about us. I stopped looking at any christian school because i felt you were going to sabatosh my sons abolity to get in by talking to any of the principals. My son never had a chance. Doesnt matter now. All Harvest is is a SHEL to me. The school he is in now has the SOUL OF CHRIST and it's not even a Christian school. You suspended my son but not the other child. That child should have been the one suspended from school not my child. That child hit my son repeatedly. My husband and I could not be happier at HCS. The education that is being provided to our daughter is not only first class, but faith based. We love our HCS community! The principle of the school corporation is somewhat two faced. Harvest Christian School has been a huge asset and blessing to our family for the past 6 and a half years. This isn't just a school, they really do become a part of your extended family. Our children are excelling academically, spiritually, socially, and in many other aspects. The curriculum is engaging and challenging, and the days are structured well. Yes it is a huge sacrifice to send your children to private school, but it is worth it. No school is perfect, and I do not know the circumstances regarding everyone's experiences. With that said, my personal experience here (and that of my children) has been one that I will always value and appreciate. Everyone on staff has been wonderful to engage with over the years, and they have all been willing to help out, listen, and offer suggestions as needed for our family- regardless of the issue. Communication has never been a problem- they always email, call, send notes home, and/or talk to us in person regularly. Additionally they have an online system they use to share grades, assignments, billing, etc with the parents which is very helpful. Our lives and the lives of our children have truly been blessed by Harvest Christian School. I would highly recommend this school to anyone considering it. read more

I enrolled my daughter Mia at Harvest Christian School mid semester about 2yrs ago because she was being bullied at her old public school. Wow what a difference it made in our lives. The teachers are amazing and helpful. Pastor Forrest is such a kind and positive Pastor (principal)at the school. I always see him walking around talking to all parents and the students with such an enthusiastic attitude, that's exactly what these children need. My daughter absolutely loves her friends and the environment this school has provided for her. I can honestly say I highly recommend this school.I love what Harvest stands for and I respect how hard they fought to get our children back to in person learning. This school definitely does not sit on their hands when things need to get done. I love that everything is centered around God first. The school's curriculum is amazing, it has the students learning things on a higher level of education. Pastor Forrest should be ashamed of himself. Recently my daughter was sick on schools grounds which we later found out through testing that she was covid positive. Mr. Forrest then went on and sent out a massive e-mail miss informing all parents that they had nothing to worry about and stated that my child was not on campus while sick. I beg to differ but my child and three other of her classmates were all sick at the same time. Emails went back and forth between us and clearly he didn't care to either close the school nor quarantine the 5th grade class my daughter is in. Besides miss informing he continues to explain in a new email that it is the parents responsibility to assess their children and take their temperature before sending them to school however the school should do the same. His response to the gravity of the situation quite frankly sickens me. Children are every parents priority and as a principle of a Christian school his should be too. If kids need to go back to online classes to keep them safe so be it. read more

Love this school. The staff is loving and helpful. Pastor Forest knows everyone of the kids and he makes a point to greet each person every morning. The kids have a lot of extracurricular activities to chose from for after school programs. The school has more parent involvement than I have ever seen. It's amazing. Harvest Christian School My child started here in 3rd grade and finished in 6th grade. My family was more than happy with this school. The teacher's were always in contact with us and always involved with our chilf. Our child grew closer to Christ which is what we were looking for. My daughter has been coming here for 2 years(Jr K and kindergarten) and we love this school! Pastor Forrest is out (rain or shine) greeting the families as we drop off our kids and saying good bye at the end of the school day. My daughters teachers are amazing!!! They are not only caring and kind but approachable. The teachers work so hard and are always excited to see the kids in the morning. My daughter has learned so much and is challenged everyday she goes to school. Their daycare program is wonderful. My daughter goes to daycare during the summer and she loves it! She goes on field trips, earns daycare dollars, has bible time and water play on Fridays. All the daycare staff are kind and loving to my daughter but firm (which she needs). Overall, we feel that God has blessed us with the opportunity for our daughter to attend this school and we plan on having her go here for as long as we can. We have always been treated with respect. After the incidents at this school, i placed my child in another school. We had no problems. None. No negativity at all. I feel like i should have listened to the neighbors in the area who said the school and church was bad for the community. To pick on a child is inexcusable. What makes a school?? It's the people, the teachers, the staff. HCS is amazing. My children love it and their childhood has been blessed because of this school. It is not without its issues of course but honestly the only one I have about HCS is the size of its sports and activities program. Because the school is small the sports programs are small. Both of our boys have attended Harvest and we are so grateful. Harvest has fun dress-up days, MANY different after-school sports and enrichment programs, as well as fun and rigorous academic learning. Our oldest son graduated a few year ago and left with such a strong Christian and academic foundation that he is thriving as a freshmen. My son has been going to HCS for the past 4 years and my daughter for 2 years. My husband and I are extremely grateful for the love, concern and care shown to our children. Not only have they learned so much academically but have been blessed with so many opportunities including sports, music, theatre and dance. I certainly do not agree with the 1-star reviews that were previously posted. At least not from my experience. My daughters attend here, two of them for the very first time and they absolutely LOVE it! at least better than the public school that they were attending previously. HCS academic program is great and they get taught the word of God. The teachers and staff are very friendly, you always get a smile from them. The one thing that impressed me about Pastor Forrest is that he is very engaged with the students as well as with the parents. Every morning he is out in the courtyard greeting every parent and child(ren) who are coming into school and he also is out there saying goodbye as they are leaving after school. What principal is engaged with the students and parents as Pastor Forrest is? That is amazing to see. The principal at the public school that my daughters attended was never seen and was very hard to get a hold of. So I am truly grateful for the open door policy that HCS has. I love it here, and most importantly my girls love it here too. They have excellent after school activities for boys and girls. I love their library as well. WoW, I am very saddened by the first review regarding Harvest Christian School. I know a few things about this parent's experience and I believe this review was absolutely written out of anger. I would like people to know one thing this mom did say spot on is, "every school is going to have it's issues". There is no perfect school, and we do not know the details of certain things unless we were the people who actually went through them. However based on my experience, Pastor Forrest does try his very best to be on top of all that needs to be taken care of. They have a no tolerance policy and even their playground supervisor takes care of every situation right when it happens. He talks to the kids & staff who may be witnesses and does investigating on every situation until it is acknowledged and resolved. I have had one child graduate from HCS who has excelled tremendously in their junior high and high school both socially and academically. I have a second child who started at HCS in kindergarten and has/will continue until they graduate sixth grade from HCS. We have been there for 7 years. This school is such a huge blessing and my children would not and did not want to go anywhere else. The staff are amazing and so loving. They joke with the kids, some teachers play with the kids, and they are constantly researching ideas and things to help themselves be better, than they already are, to teach our children. Pastor Forrest makes sure that all teachers return parents calls and/or e-mails by the end of the day if not sooner. If you want a call every time your child visits the office for any injury no matter how small, they red flag your student and you are called no matter what until you no longer want those calls. If your child needs to take medication you fill out a form, have your doctor sign it, provide the medication your child needs to the school office and they input your child's medication reminder into their calendars so it goes off when and however often your child needs to take their medication. When there is any kind of incident at a school or public place, that same day Pastor Forrest looks at what was done and he meets with his staff and security to go over HCS's safety procedures and see where they can be better multiple times if needed. He is out there greeting every single student as they come in to start their day and again at the end of the day as they go home. This school has fun and exciting school events, after school team sports, robotics, dance, cheer, choir/theater, band, intermural sports, art, and a very welcoming volunteer ministry. Even the volunteers are fingerprinted. I have had multiple staff, teachers, and parents pray with and for me right on the spot. HCS does service projects in every grade every trimester and they even will provide us a list of CBU students who do tutoring. HCS is about coming along the side of parents and helping us raise Godly boys and girls to become Godly men and women. I absolutely believe in this school and I would recommend this school to anyone who wants a Christ centered, Christ teaching, Christ loving, Christ living place for their child to learn, grow, and be held accountable. I know I am giving my children the best because they attend Harvest Christian School. We have been there for 10 years (2 kids) and it has been a wonderful learning experience for my children. They have grown socially, academically and spiritually because of the loving, spirit-filled teachers, administration and environment.
