It was critical to find a kennel that was a good fit for him. We had been using another boarding facility for the past ten years and had been pretty happy with them for most of that time. Due to a detour, I happened to drive by FurrWoods and saw their sign. So, we scheduled a time to take a tour. Oscar was reactive to the owner and staff and was barking and lunging at them. They knew exactly how to greet him and put him at ease. Within minutes, he was comfortable and leaning in for ear scratches. We took Oscar out to the play yards and put him in one by himself. He immediately went to the fence and happily greeted the other pups in the adjacent yard. The play yards here are repurposed astroturf from a football field, and the surface is immaculate. The previous boarding facility has gravel yards and our previous dog would sometimes eat rocks there or be dirty from digging. There are 3 or 4 different yards so they can group dogs by size or demeanor or age to ensure everyone has a positive playtime. The kennels are also very clean! There are only 28 kennels so it is much more peaceful than at a larger facility. They provide trampoline beds and even have slow feeders if you need them, which Oscar does. They have an online reservation system which helps me keep track of my bookings. You can also sign your dog up for an activity such as individual fetch time or a walk in the woods. We have boarded Oscar at FurrWoods several times over the past few months - sometimes just overnight and for as long as two weeks. He LOVES it there!! When we arrive, he pulls me to the door and wants to go straight out to play! This speaks volumes, as Oscar normally has separation anxiety!! When I pick him up, he is clean, happy, and exhausted. Worst dog daycare I've ever used!! Not only is this "business" run inside the owner's own home,…read morebut they have had to shutdown at least once due to giardia outbreak. For those effected, some of the dogs may have gotten sick, having diarrhea issues or worse. Granted it was possible some else's dog had it, but what kind of daycare doesn't clean enough to maintain a clean environment for our loved ones. Don't count on your dog being able to be playful either. If there is any possibility that the dogs might play with each other and become a bit vocal, they are shutdown and put away in crates for a "time out" until their bad behavior is over. This more like a POW Camp than a day care of dogs. Leave your dogs here at your own risk! If they do something wrong, the owner will try to make you pay for damage from the dogs not being supervised and taken care of. Read that contract before you sign up and ask if you can view the areas your pets will be in. You might be able to at the end of the day, but that's so you don't see what happens during normal business hours.

I was looking for a puppy to replace my aging service dog & I had a ton of questions which they were always glad to answer. I was looking for an ethical breeder & all their certifications, licenses + non-profit made me feel better about their business. Keep in mind if you're looking for a popular doodle - especially if you want particular colorings - most likely there is going to be a waitlist & required deposit well in advance. They require you to sign legal documents committing to buying the dog from them when you make your non-refundable deposit which I found stressful. They also don't allow you to meet dogs in person (but do virtually) when you select your pup - you meet your pup on pick up. Their website was out of date but I found this common amongst breeders I talked to. The thing that I cannot talk more positively about is my dog herself. The temperament of a service dog is essential. Kathy & Alex are intentionally breeding dogs for a low key & mellow temperament. I now have a service dog puppy in training who while only a few months old can calmly hangout in a space I am in. She requires exercise & attention when we are done & home but people are amazed by her quiet & calm presence when we are out. When I have been anxious about something going on with her I can reach out to them & they respond with helpful information to ease my worries. If you're looking for an ethical breeder with quality dogs have a conversation with them to see if they have a pup compatible with your household & needs.

Our dogs are both senior black labs and have developed their own individual behavior characteristics. Carol was able to tune in immediately to our dogs at the first meet and greet for evaluation. They were quite glad to see her when she came back for the actual pet sitting period. Carol took good care of our home, brought in the mail and kept everything in order. We will definitely use her service again.

They noticed a gas leak in the stove and made sure the gas was turned off to the appliance. Ultimately, Carol was not only a superb cat sitter, she was also a great house sitter! Highly recommended.
