The Captain did his part and I landed a 37" beauty that bolted like lightning when hooked, peeling line off the reel (what a beautiful sound!). In addition to the snook the other primary request was to catch some great table fare. Here again, Captain Dustin did his part and we had plentiful fish for the table, a nice mix that day of Speckled Sea Trout and Spanish Mackerel. He took amazing care of all of us--baiting our hooks, helping us cast, etc. It was my son's first time fishing and Fred made it memorable. At first the fish weren't biting because there had been a cold front for a few days before our trip. But Fred wouldn't give up. He took us around to several different spots until we found some fish that actually wanted to eat. We caught a bunch of beautiful spotted trout. And it was also just beautiful traveling around through all the mangrove inlets...we saw egrets and heron and osprey. It was a great trip and great service.

I would give it 4 1/2 stars but Yelp only allows even numbers lol the only thing I would change is the boat being a newer model. We had no issues with the boat, but the leather was cracked and a little dated. I would recommend this company, and I would also use it myself. Most companies allow up to six or eight people. This company allows up to 12 people with a captain.

We docked at honeymoon beach spend some quality time with the family and kept sailing to Clearwater beach to have an awesome lunch! Was my wife's birthday and when I called Captain Adam, we hit it off- super nice guy and gave examples of what we could do but literally said - "whatever you want to do". It literally like having your own boat with you your own Capt and crew. We cruised around the bay, up the intracoastal waterway. Anchored out at one of the sandbars and then cruised down the coast and had several pods of dolphin swimming around the boat. Was an excellent day on the water. I went on 2 charters with Captain Alex. The 1st was last month to Anclote Key Lighthouse. Unless…read moreyou own or have a generous friend who has a boat, this is the least expensive way to visit the lighthouse with enough time allotted for climbing the lighthouse. The lighthouse is only open for climbing on certain days of the year. These open days are subject to change due to weather and adverse conditions which is why I needed the 2nd charter to the lighthouse. I had a 2nd charter this past weekend. On both charters, Captain Alex was laid back, friendly, and hospitable. He has great info about the area and is open to answering questions. His boat could hold gear or kayaks in the front if need be. Captain Alex cannot beach or dock at Anclote Key as there is an annual fee for that. He will drop you off in knee deep water and wait for you while you explore the island. It is a small drop from the boat, so keep this in mind if you have any injuries to you lower body. The other boats I saw did not beach or dock at Anclote Key either. We had an hour to explore Anclote Key. We saw dolphins while going to and coming from the lighthouse. After leaving the lighthouse, we viewed the sponge docks which was an added treat. If you are wanting to visit Anclote Lighthouse during a time when the lighthouse is open, I would highly recommend using South Wind Charters!
