Denise was very nice and the blowout came out okay. I don't live in the area and researched severs salons in the area since I'm here for a wedding. When booking my appointment I specifically asked how much it would be and was told $25, which was why I selected this salon. When being rung up she told me $45 and I asked how?!. She then told me that it starts at $25 and varies by stylist. Maybe i misheard the starts at during our initial conversation but definitely never heard anything about it varying by stylist. There are plenty of other salons in the area I could have gone to for the same experience and less money. Update : i was told it up to me to ask the stylist additional questions. How would I know to even ask about tiered levels and different pricing when it was not mentioned? read more

I've been coming to Rick, at Just Braggin for many years. I cannot recommend this salon enough !! I travel a lot for work and no matter where I am people stop me and ask me where I've got my haircut and colored and I always tell them you have to go to Just Braggin! I thought Kathy was the rudest, if the owner was there the day she was working, he would have been flawed. Personally she said her people leave with great hair, well I saw 2 that left that didn't look so swift. I would say that's God's way of blessing me. I even wanted to buy a product t and she yelled at the girl who was helping me, plus said she would see if my hair would lift, I would have to come back in 3 weeks, no time, but someone else in shop did it, Kathy said I looked awful loudly, also said other disgusting things that the 2 girls behind the counter were laughing and looked shocked....never have I been treated so horrible. Started coming here last year & felt inclined to give some shoutouts! Both Billie & Megan have done my hair and both are so so kind, patient and attentive! I'm new to the area and needed to find a new stylist. I brought a photo of how I wanted the length and cut. Now, I understand everyone has a different hair texture than most photos they bring and hair styles will do their very best to try to meet your expectations as much as possible. Unfortunately, what I received compared to the photo I showed was extremely different. The cut is shorter (much shorter) than I wanted and the cut is choppy and uneven. I am giving this place two stars because everyone was very nice, but I will not be returning. I am upset because I had high hopes for this place. I asked if I can make another appointment they said we are still going to charge you. They said you needed to cancel 48 hours in advance!!! Ridiculous! I would NEVER go there again. My mom and I are visiting this area and booked on a whim. Everyone we encountered at this salon is so friendly, hardworking, humble and customer-oriented. My mom's hair stylist, (Kathy or Katie, she can't recall!), was particularly lovely and my mom's hair stayed frizz-free for our entire photo shoot outdoors by the beach (despite the humidity)! Thank you for being so kind and inviting and hospitable. My two suggestions: the young woman who did my hair did a fine job but curly, dry hair requires a strong tug when blowing out. Maybe something to keep in mind in the future. And, when we were checking out, our wait was in excess of 7 minutes...perhaps add an additional person to check folks out when the wait is greater than 5 minutes? read more

I am not a local, so I did ALOT of research when I unexpectedly found myself staying on LBI for 2 months and needing a cut and color. I found JBS and read all the reviews for all the stylists, and decided to try and book with Rick, the owner, because I have ALOT of fine, straight hair. It's ALL about the cut for my hair to look good and one of Ricks areas of expertise was precision cuts. BINGO! I went to visit the salon, and to be honest, it is in a plain, big, strip mall. Eeewww! But I went inside and everyone at the front desk was so nice, and the salon had a very positive vibe so I asked to book with Rick. He was booked about 6 weeks out so I put my name on the cancellation list and hoped for the best. I got an appointment after waiting about two weeks, yay! When I got there Ricks assistant Anna showed me to a chair and she consulted with Rick for my color. She was so sweet and did a great job with my color. Then I talked with Rick. He listened to what I wanted, then explained what he could and couldn't do, and what he recommended and of course I went with that. He followed my cut and added some more layers to give my hair more movement and frame my face, I love it ! And the color was perfect. I needed to tone down blonde highlights that had turned brassy and make a transition to auburn for the end of summer and he nailed it. I get SO many compliments on the cut, and it's one of the easiest styles I've ever had. I couldn't be happier. I just moved to the area and was looking for a salon to do blowouts. I have hand tied welt extensions in my hair and it can be challenging to find someone at a salon to blow out my hair. I called Just Braggin' after reading many positive reviews. The receptionist was very helpful and recommended Denise..and I'm glad she did. Denise was very friendly, personable, listened to my concerns as well as doing an amazing job. When I checked out I booked many more appointments with her. I have been going to Just Braggin around 1 1/2 years. I started with a wonderful hairstylist Katie.I got a phone call the day before my appointment and they asked me to put a credit card on file. i said I always pay in cash. The girl at the desk Caley said its. their new policy, due to the week before, they had 20 cancellations. I told them I dont feel comfortable holding my credit card, since I never cancelled with my stylist. They insisted if I dont give my credit card #, they would cancel my appointment. I said are you kidding, I have been a loyal customer for so long, and no one ever asked me to put a credit card on hold. I actually referred 3 other clients to them. They said I probably slipped through the cracks, thats why I was never asked. I.said are you really going to cancel my appointment.? The girl said yes we already did .I have never been in such UNPROFESSIONAL & RUDE place in my life.. I said you cancelled my appointment with my stylist so she could loose money.? Why would you do that. They kept saying thats our policy since covid. They called me back & said we dont want customers like you. This is the response from this salon!!! I tried to make sn appointment 2 months in advance, and was told the stylist was totally booked up. That was fine with me at that point, however she continued to say that they are not accepting ANY née clients!! I then asked about an appointment for several months in advance and again was told that he wasn't accepting new clients. Then she proceeded to say that she has a HUGE list of people to call if he does get a cancellation. I have never had a situation like this. i never was offered a different stylist either. i was upset and sent a message on their site. I cannot believe the nerve of these people!! This response is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Their superior attitude and downright Degrading way of handling a situation is definitely worth thinking about for any potential client. Instead of getting in touch with me and trying to resolve it, they actually had the gall and nerve to send this. i would think twice about patronizing a business like this. This should have been a very easy fix for them but they have the attitude that they don't need clients. Thank you for your feed back Joanne. I'm not sure how to respond to this other than we are truly happy you were not able to book an appointment with our salon, after reading your response I'm certain as a client you are not the right fit for us. Today I treated myself to eyelash extensions and all I can say is "What took me so long?!" Rebecca did a wonderful job and I am thrilled with the results. Ladies, if you ever considered eyelash extensions don't wait, my eyes and lashes look beautiful and so natural. You will be very happy and completely satisfied with this process and the work that Rebecca does. I was in the salon about 2 hours today and Rebecca explained touch-up is only necessary about every four weeks. It is painless and and very well priced.... Kathy Reilly, a stylist at Just Braggin, is an ARTIST of hair. She single handedly fixed my fried, sad hair. She knows how to choose a color that will complement any skin tone (I am very pale and it's therefor easy to look washed out). Her cuts are not only fashionable, but practical as well; She is knowledgeable about what to do once you leave her chair, which is obviously incredibly helpful! Lastly (do you need any other reasons?) She's super sweet and totally funny, putting everyone at ease for the duration of the cut. She's even been known to provide a little therapy from time to time. The wax specialist was very nice and sweet, however, it was horrible. I realized half way through she was using the same wood stick while doing the Brazilian wax, sticking it back in the same pot each time. If she did this for me she probably did this for everyone else, which I found out is illegal. I am super nervous about that(since it's not sanitary at all) and four days later have brown blotches, which were red the first two days, which have never happened ever before after getting a wax. I also had wax on arms and fingers after I left. Super nervous and disappointed. read more

Amazing!! I Usually don't do reviews , but I have to say this has been one of my best hair salon experiences . Kathy did wonders with my hair . She spent a good 20 to 30 minutes going over the hair color that I wanted , and even made suggestions as to what would look good on my skin tone. She spent a good two to three hours ensuring that my hair was done properly strand by strand and the final product was amazing. My hair feels wonderful, and I would suggest this salon to anyone. She is also a delight to talk to you. I will definitely recommend her to anyone! It was a good 200 bucks for my full balayage ombre to be done but it was totally worth it for the amount of time and care that was put in. Love it here ! read more

This is for eyebrow threading ONLY. Came in yo get my eyebrows done, a few weeks ago, the place was busy so I assume they are popular. The woman came in to do my eyebrows and spent the entire time making rude comments about how my eyebrows hadn't been done in a while (eyebrows are a low priority as a working mom of a toddler) and "yeh, you know you are missing a chunk here?" Yeh lady, I have had these eyebrows almost 30 years, if they were perfect I wouldn't be here. While she was threading my left eyebrow she caught my eyelashes in her thread and didn't notice and ripped a chunk out, while not painful I was now missing a chunk of eyelashes. The eyebrow wax was mediocre at best and the employee was rude. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

Billie the new stylist cut my hair and it looks amazing especially the blow out and I can be a little picky with blow outs.
