The people are nice and they usually have good entertainment. However with that being said, I've observed quite a few issues and with my short time here in FAI, being the best in Fairbanks isn't saying much. Obviously the no one wants to pay $70-$80 for a haircut. But if you want a decent haircut that's what you have to pay. Me like a lot of their clients are not from here. Where I come from I can pay half the price and I'm getting offered a hot towel, sometimes face massage, etc, etc. These guys have a hard time placing shaving cream on your face to avoid cutting you. It seems like the shaving cream thing has gotten better but still pretty inconsistent. I have personally been able to observe 4 of the 5 barbers there, the only one I have never sat with seems to not be comfortable cutting 4C hair types. All of them once again are super nice and super friendly but none of them have been able to justify to me the $70-$80 price tag.

I got there not knowing what I wanted but I had a couple pictures and Earl took those pictures and we created a haircut and beard trim. Earl took his time with every detail, it took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. Every place I have been in town I am normally in and out in 10-15 minutes and feel like it was a waste of money. It was crazy watching all the staff work and how much they pay attention to detail and truly make you feel like you are the priority. Also the gentleman cutting hair in the corner by the window, I think was either the owner or a manager. He was helping everyone out and was very positive about everything. As a business owner myself this is something that I noticed right away and he is definitely a great role model for his staff. Keep up the great work and you have now gained my business, even though the place is filled with Seahawk gear "Go Pack Go" :)

About 3 minutes before I was supposed to be there I called and let them know I was running about 10 minutes late. They said he was still working on another client so it worked out great! MOTHER DUCKING STAIRS. If you can't or wont climb stairs this place is not for you. I almost wanna dock a star because I wish it was wheelchair & ect friendly but I'm sure they are doing what they can with the space they have. My barber was Jaron. I only had one blurry picture of the haircut I wanted and he looked at it a few times and made it work! He was friendly and gave me some tips about Alaska since I was new.
