I tried here for supper over the Christmas holidays after it being suggested by a family member. I couldn't find an online menu, but we checked it out anyway based on positive word of mouth. It's in the strip mall with Ugly Mug, where Don Cherry's used to be, etc so adequate free parking. It's definitely meant to be a take-out joint, although they do have several tables and we chose to eat in. In the future, I would rather get take-out. Anyway, you grab a menu, order and pay in advance, and they bring it to your table. I'd say we waited about 15 minutes and there were a handful of other customers, this being around 5pm. Three or four staff seemed to be working pretty hard, but were friendly. I tried one of their hero sandwiches..,which was a good size, very filling, on a white crusty bun, baked I believe vs toasted, with donair meat, salami, pepperoni (I think) lettuce, tomato, donair sauce, melted white cheese. Overall satisfying comfort food. My mother had the hot turkey or chicken sandwich that came with cole slaw, cranberry sauce, stuffing and homemade fries. She liked it a lot, making one comment that she found it odd that the meat was small almost 'nugget- like' pieces, versus the sliced meat you'd expect on a hot sandwich. Very filling. My father had one of the poutines, I think the class with just cheese & gravy, and cleared the plate. So this isn't the kind of place to eat if you are watching calories, but if you just crave some homemade carby staples, it's a definite go-to. read more
