Rachel gave great direction, made us feel comfortable, and captured moments we will treasure forever. April, my wife, and I wanted a small and intimate wedding, with minimal stress during planning (as we all strive for, right?). Kauai Elopements absolutely delivered. Their team kept in touch appropriately and periodically, and the system where we could choose vendors from a provided list made it SO easy! Our ceremony was BEYOND loved by our family, friends, and us. Again, I really don't know how to condense all these thoughts into this review haha. I grew up in San Diego, shirtless, shoeless, beach/nature-lover. Naturally, I still felt like I might be met with a little "outsider" vibe. Not true whatsoever. As a matter of fact; during photos after the ceremony (Tunnels Beach), so many people, local or not, passed by wishing us congratulations.. GENUINE congrats with true smiles. My soul was warm. It's warm right now, typing this out. The talkative guy that I am, was very vocal about not just appreciating Kauai as a whole (physically and spiritually) accepting our request to marry there, but that I equally appreciate the opportunity to be able to bring our friends & family and GIVE back our love to the culture's spiritual ancestors and past. I am definitely not a religious man.. BUT I am very spiritual, and I'd like to believe that the Love/Kindness energy that I felt so much could be felt by those around that day. This leads me to bring spotlight to Aokai our officiant, Ikaika our photographer, and Joel our videographer. Holy crap, I can't tell anyone enough how much my heart was pounding during first-look.. no one but I could ultimately control that.. but the guys said every single possible RIGHT thing to say to my ear as I waited. BEST damn support on our big day whew! As I mentioned, I'm not religious; the textbook, typical-religious I often think of leaning toward christianity, catholicism etc. I'm big on spirituality, and energy and symbolic traditions and rituals that have deep MEANING to the individuals involved. Aokai's contribution was a darn A++, spot-on, amazing beyond belief. I'm actually working on preserving our coconut as recommended because it is so dear to me. I'll also never forget (no one will haha) how I accidentally drank from the coconut before I fed it to April lol sorry babe. We will absolutely return for vow renewals in the future. Lastly, the patience of Ikaika and Joel made my day so much better when I began to stress, they assured me that everything is okay, during first-look, as well as after the ceremony when there was a lot of interjecting from my mom about who's next for photos and how to stand. We had to leave Kauai due to the COVID-19 pandemic on the day we arrived stay one more night in Oahu and then fly back. Jessica was very understanding and she worked with us as our timeframe is changed around. It also happened to be one of the rainiest weeks of the year. So finding a spot that had the right lighting for our photos was difficult and Jessica offered to meet us on a Sunday and take pictures outside of our ceremony day which we very very much appreciated. They gave us a lot of options were added photos and were very welcoming towards our family and even took some family photos which we will treasure forever. For her ceremony she did a traditional ring blessing which I would very much recommend. She was so kind and warm I would urge you to reach out to her if you're even considering an elopement inquiry or a small wedding as we did. We had six people and Jessica met us at our Airbnb but she also has a property that you can elect to use or meet at one of the local beaches which she knows inside and out. Alii Kauai Weddings did the best job helping me plan my dream elopement from Texas. I had never been to Kauai or even on a tropical vacation anywhere and they were always available to answer my questions and helped me plan everything out exactly like I wanted. The moment that I realized I had definitely made the right decision hiring them was when our flight got delayed causing us to miss our connecting flight and we got stuck in Los Angeles the night before our wedding! It was so stressful and I don't know what I would have done without Jessica. I called her and explained what happened and that we would not be able to get a flight until the next day ( Sunday, our planned wedding day). She made a miracle happen and was able to move our wedding from Sunday to Monday: flowers, cake, videographer, photographer, officiant, wedding coordinator and all! I couldn't believe it and was so grateful to not have to go from the airport straight to our wedding! The vendors that she works with were exceptional. The flowers were better than I could have imagined. The cake was delicious. Our pictures and video were perfect. Our officiant was wonderful. When my wife and I decided to do a destination wedding in Hawaii, we had no clue where to start. I started out researching photographers and ministers, when I contacted Aloha Ever After and spoke with Timory, I just knew this was the right company and the right people to make our wedding the best it could be. We set our wedding date for Dec.9,2018. (I know, I unintentionally procrastinated with my review.) But our experience was phenomenal and the memory stays with us every day. Timory did an incredible job helping us with information to get the marriage license, flowers, suggested accommodations in the area and even provided great options for the ceremony. after seeing Shipwrecks Beach, we chose that as the place to start our new life. We arranged to have her partner/Husband Joel perform the ceremony and Timory on photography. They were both awesome to work with, in tune with our wishes and exceptional with assisting us the whole way. The ceremony was beautiful, we did a sand ceremony as well and all of the photos were absolutely breathtaking! One of my outstanding memories during the ceremony was Timory asking us to pause briefly to look into the ocean, there was a Manta Ray lingering just off the beach, in front of our location, she said that was a rare occurance at that beach, in fact, she said she hadn't seen that in 20 years of performing weddings at that beach, the locals at the Tidepools restaurant all concurred and didn't believe it until I showed them the photo. we chalked it up as the spirit of our lost loved ones joining our special moment. that was super cool to experience. I truly can't say enough about Aloha Ever After, The prices were more than reasonable, the help with planning was priceless, the team of Timory and Joel and the overall experience is something I'll never forget. We've returned once to revisit for our anniversary and to reflect on the memories. We hope to go again someday to renew our vows and you know my first call will be to Aloha Ever After! She is also knowledgeable and well-connected to vendors within Kauai and she recommended a handful of vendors who matched our vision, communication style, and general vibe of our wedding. We selected our florist, photographer, officiant/live musician, DJ/Emcee, hair/makeup artist based on her positive experience working with them. She worked with us and the vendors to schedule meet and greets, food/beverage tasting to curate the menu at 1Hotel, and trials with our hair/make up artist, and photographer to ensure that our wedding day went smoothly. Lisa was calm and supportive on the day of our wedding and took charge of the vendors so we could truly be present with our guests. She helped us pivot when the wind picked up before the ceremony to ensure that our decor did not fly away. She also helped us stay in time with the music during the processional and helped me down the grassy hill to the aisle when my veil got stuck. Overall, we had a fantastic time at our wedding and we still dream about how beautiful and fun the whole day was. She really brought our vision to life, always filling in gaps as needed (candles, placecards, baskets for our flower people), and finding a new videographer when our initial choice fell through.
