She also asked about the wedding style and what colors our friends would be wearing, and chose a beautiful navy blue dress that fit perfetly into the overall look and photos. She actively helped us with finding the location, and together we ended up choosing what is probably the best spot with a view of Hanalei Bay. Absolutely stunning. We started communicating about two months before the ceremony, and she walked me through every single step of what was needed to get married in Hawaii (we're based in California). She also shared contacts for a marriage agent, who I later worked with. Frieda arrived perfectly on time, and right after the ceremony on January 21, 2026, she submitted all the paperwork. By the time we returned from Hawaii to California, our marriage certificate was already in our mailbox. I was told throughout the planning, leading up to the moment that we were married, how relaxed I was and such an easy-going bride. Part of that was because I had her as our minister. Planning a wedding when you aren't there, can be daunting... but that is where Ms. Kube comes in. Granted it was a small ceremony with only 7 of us total, but there are beach permits to file for, flowers, etc that needed to be done. I first contacted Christine about 8 months before the wedding and I knew immediately that she was going to make this a breeze. We used one of her packages that includes a photographer (Images by Liz) and I would recommend budgeting for this cost. The package is affordable and you are going to be in paradise so you will want to document it. The basic package includes lei for you and your partner, a champagne/cider toast, beach permit, and minister; but you can add to that by including a cake, a musician, hair/make up.. etc. She was able to answer any and all questions I had about Kauai whether it was regarding the wedding or if she knew of the best food truck in Koloa (it is Kauai Food Truck btw). There are 3 ceremonies to choose from; so if you are religious or not at all, or prefer something more Hawaiian, she has them. We were married at Shipwreck Beach at mid-morning (a great time as it was still deserted somewhat), and it was actually a warm day. The ceremony was short and sweet (15 min tops) and then the photographer takes over for the next 45min-1hr.

Communication was excellent from start to finish. Our officiant Primrose was absolutely wonderful -- so warm, welcoming, and genuine. April, my wife, and I wanted a small and intimate wedding, with minimal stress during planning (as we all strive for, right?). Kauai Elopements absolutely delivered. Their team kept in touch appropriately and periodically, and the system where we could choose vendors from a provided list made it SO easy! Our ceremony was BEYOND loved by our family, friends, and us. Again, I really don't know how to condense all these thoughts into this review haha. I grew up in San Diego, shirtless, shoeless, beach/nature-lover. Naturally, I still felt like I might be met with a little "outsider" vibe. Not true whatsoever. As a matter of fact; during photos after the ceremony (Tunnels Beach), so many people, local or not, passed by wishing us congratulations.. GENUINE congrats with true smiles. My soul was warm. It's warm right now, typing this out. The talkative guy that I am, was very vocal about not just appreciating Kauai as a whole (physically and spiritually) accepting our request to marry there, but that I equally appreciate the opportunity to be able to bring our friends & family and GIVE back our love to the culture's spiritual ancestors and past. I am definitely not a religious man.. BUT I am very spiritual, and I'd like to believe that the Love/Kindness energy that I felt so much could be felt by those around that day. Holy crap, I can't tell anyone enough how much my heart was pounding during first-look.. no one but I could ultimately control that.. but the guys said every single possible RIGHT thing to say to my ear as I waited. BEST damn support on our big day whew! As I mentioned, I'm not religious; the textbook, typical-religious I often think of leaning toward christianity, catholicism etc. I'm big on spirituality, and energy and symbolic traditions and rituals that have deep MEANING to the individuals involved. Aokai's contribution was a darn A++, spot-on, amazing beyond belief. I'm actually working on preserving our coconut as recommended because it is so dear to me. I'll also never forget (no one will haha) how I accidentally drank from the coconut before I fed it to April lol sorry babe. We will absolutely return for vow renewals in the future. Lastly, the patience of Ikaika and Joel made my day so much better when I began to stress, they assured me that everything is okay, during first-look, as well as after the ceremony when there was a lot of interjecting from my mom about who's next for photos and how to stand. Lisa is warm, patient, a great listener, and we could tell that she is passionate in making our dream wedding come to life. We scheduled regular calls as it got closer to our wedding date to ensure that all the details were meticulously planned and executed as discussed. She went above and beyond by letting us ship wedding supplies to her home as the wedding date approached so that we did not have to pack everything into our luggage. She is also knowledgeable and well-connected to vendors within Kauai and she recommended a handful of vendors who matched our vision, communication style, and general vibe of our wedding. We selected our florist, photographer, officiant/live musician, DJ/Emcee, hair/makeup artist based on her positive experience working with them. She worked with us and the vendors to schedule meet and greets, food/beverage tasting to curate the menu at 1Hotel, and trials with our hair/make up artist, and photographer to ensure that our wedding day went smoothly. Lisa was calm and supportive on the day of our wedding and took charge of the vendors so we could truly be present with our guests. She helped us pivot when the wind picked up before the ceremony to ensure that our decor did not fly away. She also helped us stay in time with the music during the processional and helped me down the grassy hill to the aisle when my veil got stuck. Overall, we had a fantastic time at our wedding and we still dream about how beautiful and fun the whole day was. All our friends had a wonderful time and one of the couples even returned to 1Hotel for their babymoon a few months later! Lisa worked with us about 4 months out from our ~20 person wedding at the 1 Hotel and was an absolute dream to work with. Being based in NYC and never having visited Kauai until our wedding week, Lisa was our sounding board for choosing vendors (officiant, florals, music, make-up, video, photo, steam/pressing), was conscious of the time zones and never made us feel rushed, and kept us on track without being overbearing about decisions that we needed to make up until the very end. She really brought our vision to life, always filling in gaps as needed (candles, placecards, baskets for our flower people), and finding a new videographer when our initial choice fell through. Everyone that came to our wedding wants to go back to Kauai and the 1 Hotel to relive the day. We can't recommend Lisa enough! Thank you, Lisa, for everything. Kent was very hands on from the start, when I contacted him about the vow renewal while in Kauai (to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary). Our set-up was really simple - just the two of us, a minister, lei's, bouquet and the photography (I think it was the barefoot package + additional with the bouquet). We had a few check-in calls and e-mails to finalize details and then we talked the morning of the ceremony. Kent was really great to work with, easy going and attentive. Our minister (Hawaiian Spiritual) was equally great and made the ceremony extra special. Overall, things could not have gone any better - it was a day that we'll never forget. I still can't get over how amazing the photos were. Our ceremony was at Shipwrecks beach :) I think overall as long as you give all the details to Kent and tell him what you're looking for everything will be great! I was hesitant to trust a man with my ceremony (you just always feel that a woman will be more in touch with these things) but not wanting to be sexist, I was happy to give him a shot. Throughout the summer, we had significant difficulty receiving responses from Kent, repeatedly having to follow up via phone on emails that we had placed. He was always cordial, but never apologetic. He repeatedly forgot details of the ceremony, so much that I ensured that I kept my own file on all communications to ensure that I had proof of the messages. Again...no apologies. Friendly and very true to his Hawaiian culture, but the antithesis of professionalism. Concerned about the actual conduct, we agreed to meet with him to review logistics once we were on the island. However, we never got that far. With just 12 days to the ceremony, he had the audacity to email us and 'suggest' that we change the location of the ceremony because 'he didn't realize that we were staying at the resort that we were staying and felt that it was not convenient.' Needless to say, with no confidence of his abilities to execute our wedding the way that we wanted, we let him go with only a week to replace him. You can only IMAGINE the anxiety! Shentel at Hanalei Colony Resort stepped in and, in just two days, replaced all vendors and conducted the PERFECT ceremony for my fiance' and me. She was FLAWLESS! Not once throughout this entire experience did he apologize for his ineptitude. This man relies on the reputation of a coordination business that he has only recently assumed responsibility for. He is a photographer by trade and I would highly recommend that he relinquish his coordination hat and stick to photography.
