I'm sure if you talk to the manager or the owner they will make you happy. As far as the nail technician asking for a tip it's going to be that way if you have a EMV chip on your credit card. I know this because I actually do their credit card processing and I am in this industry. If you notice not all places take the chip where you can insert the card , many places still can swipe it, that's because it has both a black mag stipe and a chip which is called a hybrid card. Unfortunately yours does not work that way, that's why they have to ask you for a tip. It used to be where you could write your tip in then the technician or the owner can go back later and do what we call a tip adjust, that's why they don't have to ask up front because of the security that the chip is now trying to bring to the United States. When other place are forced to have machines that take the chip and only the chip, businesses will no longer be able to do this. ALL credit cards are eventually going to have just the chip. If you remember in the news, it was supposed to be October 2015 , Master Card and Visa have since changed it to February 2016, which they will probably push it back again. When this happens businesses will NOT be able to swipe they HAVE to insert the card into the machine. I wanted my customers to have the most security so I had all my "chip" machines installed before October. You will find out other places such as restaurant, hair salons and ANY other place of business that takes tips will be asking you upfront because they are no longer allowed by MasterCard and Visa to store that credit card number in the machines. This is a good thing, you should be very happy for the security. Unless places use tablets that they can bring to you and you can write in the tip the way they do in Europe ( which that's where we got the chip idea from) it's unfortunately all going to be done this way. I didn't mean to be so long-winded, but I just wanted to explain that it was not their fault. You can also Google tips on EMV chip credit cards, it will explain to you what I did. I love going to Silver Nails! I have been a client for quite awhile and I feel quite at home when I go there. I am greeted as a friend by all the staff and the quality of work and service is excellent. I get a fill every couple of weeks, a pedicure or a toe polish and now I enjoy the eyebrow waxing. Lee does a great job ... and now she's in charge and honestly lets me know when it's time for the next waxing! I like that personal touch. Being in sales, I can sell anything as long as I believe in the product and service. I personally have referred lots of friends and colleagues to Silver Nails since I know that they will receive top treatment. I read one of the reviews from 2010 about the tools not being sterilized. That should not reflect on the current owners, Lee & Jason. Their standards are extremely high and their tools are properly cared for. I would not subject myself to going there if I thought it wasn't clean. If you want a nice clean place, with great people ....great clients who have become friends just from seeing them there a lot ...and that nice personal treatment, I highly recommend this place. This shop is very clean that comment on the way bottom mentioning the tools is dirty and stuff that is not true they have sterilizer to clean all tools. I went in there they gave me such a fantastic time serve me wine for me and my group of girlfriends for our girl night out. They have new management so everything is different from what the comment from 2010 was saying. I totally disagree with that comment . This shop is vote best in town! Ly and Jason is the new owners they are so young and so much fun. The other workers there like to talk and show u a good time. There's never a full moment. There is a lot of pedicure like chocolate lavender mint and even a men sport pedicure for the guys out there. Oh there is just so much I can go on forevr. Ive found Silver and Nail Spa to be a great location if you are a local like myself or have friends vacationing over on sullivans or IOP. You are always greeted as soon as you walk in and they will normally tell you how long of a wait IF there is one, but have never found the wait no more than 10 minutes. They do all types of nails well and I love the French manicure with the hard gel top. Im really tough on my nails from gardening to mud runs and it always lasts at least 2 weeks! Prices are very reasonable, the salon is well organized and airy. Its right next to Town Centre so I can see why so many island visitors make a day of it while over there. read more

In regards to the below review, you have no idea if the "white people" they took before you made an appointment. I've always made an appointment and expect to be seen before "walk-ins"...although they happily take walk-ins if they have someone to service them. Jason and Lee, along with their staff, couldn't be nicer. I've paid twice as much other places and have never received such a quality manicure or pedicure. It was a wonderful and joyful experience my first time there and I enjoyed every min there nice people and i don't really go out my way to get my nails and toes done but I happen to go here and it has been a very good Experience I must say wine and on top of that beautiful all at the same spa who can beet that .. Love the personal customer service here the owner always makes me feel special and at home here. She does a great job on my nails and puts fine detail and personal touch on my nails every time.
