I came in with a reference photo for a basic pink French manicure and specifically requested a coffin/square shape. Angie, the owner and technician who performed the service, completed both appointments. The initial appointment took nearly 2 hours, yet I left with nails that were uneven in shape and length, mismatched French tips, and did not resemble the inspiration photo I provided. I immediately contacted the salon, sent photos, and explained my concerns. The salon agreed the nails needed correction and asked me to return the following day. What should have been a quick fix turned into another 1.5-hour appointment. Every nail had to be re-filed, one nail had to be extended because it was noticeably shorter than the others, and the skin around my index finger was injured during filing. The area was painful enough that I had to ask for antiseptic and remained irritated for hours afterward. There was also cured product left on the skin around my thumb. Less than 24 hours after the correction appointment, one of the corrected extensions began lifting and bending, which was especially frustrating given the amount of time spent trying to fix the original issues. After nearly 4 hours across two visits for a simple French manicure, the nails still are not fully consistent in shape or length. I gave the salon every opportunity to correct the issues before leaving this review, but I will not be returning.

Lana took care of me. She did an excellent job. She used a nail "dip" that hardens pretty much instantly and I didn't have to worry about smudging anything after leaving the nail studio. Fast forward four weeks later and the polish pretty much looks the same as it did on day 1, except that my nails have grown out. Since the color is neutral, it's not noticeable unless you look closely. I am headed back to have them redone. The salon has been newly renovated, with a brand new addition of new pedicure and nail stations. The atmosphere is very friendly and familiar. Booked online and checked in upfront on their IPad. Once in the pedicure chair I was asked if I wanted something to drink by the man who sits upfront. Very nice to offer, I declined. The cons: while in the pedicure chair I got the inclination that the technician was very new or just very bad. I've been getting mani/pedi for over 30 years and it's normally a long string of paper towel/ tissue weaved in between your toes. She broke off individual pieces for each toe, barely separating them. I came in flip flops, but she put the store cheap ones on me. I tried to explain but she said "no English" so fine, waste flip flops on me for 30 mins. Then came the manicure. Basic mani not gel or dip. She puts on 3 coats. Again, maybe this is something new that I'm not aware of but almost always it's 2 coats. She finishes, rubs my forearms with lotion then grabs a hot towel to rub my arms and..... my wet nails. Rubs them. Clearly they all smudged. I told her just to take it off and I'll do it myself but a woman next to us with no client at the time saw and stepped in saying I can do it quick for you. And that she did. Her quick version was better than what I would do at home (maybe) but was clearly rushed and not worth the $25 they charged me for it. There are enough nail salons in Mt Pleasant that I'd say don't even bother with Sweetgrass
