I asked for a basic pedicure with no polish. The technician did a superficial job, very little grooming, just clipping and filing, no cuticles, no lotion. Another staff member arrived while I was there, turned up the salon music AND turned on her iPhone's music, then ate breakfast at her station. I did not complain because I should have known better, paid the $50, left a tip because I felt bad for the obviously inept and inexperienced technician, maybe straight out of school and didn't know any better. Lucky for me, Katie at the Mirror Lake Inn spa grabbed her hot stones and got to WORK. The 80 minute massage I experienced was truly next level relaxation. I made the appointment for a Friday one week before, and was so excited to get in. The spa itself is gorgeous, though a huge bummer that the sauna and locker room aren't accessible at this time due to COVID. I took a walk through and had envy for everyone who got to enjoy that level of LAVISH. Still 5 stars even though I didn't get the full experience. Staff was fantastic and you can't beat the location. This is the biggest, splurgiest "treat yo self" I'll do all year, as an 80 minute hot stone massage ran me more than $200 with tip. She's not cheap but I will continue to rationalize this experience in my head as 100000% worth it. There are three dining options - upscale restaurant, casual bar (they share the same 4 diamond restaurant kitchen) and a waterfront pub. We spent time at all threes spots. Food and drinks at all were perfect. A great place to stay for a romantic getaway.
