A great selection of proteins on the steam table and a nice variety of the classic breakfast offerings. A big plate of scrambled eggs and I was able to add cheese sauce and mushrooms on one side of my plate. On the other, some sausage links (very overdone) and some sliced ham (extremely salty). Lots of other high carb options available including biscuits, pancakes, French toast sticks, cheese and plain grits, home fries and tots. Something that might have been fried chicken livers and also some pieces of fried chicken. A dessert bar with banana pudding, jellos and fruits was also available. We waited for around 10 minutes talking and someone brought our dishes. My wife got her's fine and mine was something completely different. I told the person who brought it what I ordered and she said, yes that was not it. The server showed up again and said she was sorry about the "mix-up"...I don't know I am pretty clear when I order and something that has "killer and gravy" shouldn't be unclear. After more time passed the server came around again and said she would check to see what was going on....then came around again to say "it's still not here?" No, it was not there or I would be eating it. After I want to say around 15 minutes passed I finally got the food and had to chow it down because we needed to be someplace before the rain was going to start. But then the server came over and said to my wife (not me), I took the dish off you didn't order. Really, you took the dish off I dish I didn't order and charged me FULL price for the order I did and then no further discount....how nice of you. There was no manager to be seen or I would have said something then, but then my wife said don't, so I didn't and now this is the review that the Frothy Rooster gets because the server needed a clue and then did not do anything except make a good breakfast bad. One can buy ice cream and sundae's with ice cream made close by with all the toppings imaginable. They also serve coffee and drinks in the morning as well. The staff are awesome and very knowledgeable about offerings and history of place. The other half of the barn is used as a store to showcase and sell local products and makings from vendors. The upstairs in the barn is used for games and seating area for relaxing. Outside the barn on the west side is several yard games for kids and adults alike for entertainment. They sell several plants and flowers seasonally as well out back of the barn. Out back and beside the barn is animal pins along with feeders one can purchase pellets for ducks, chickens and goats to eat. All the animals on the farm are rescues from unwanted homes. This is a great place for kids or to hang out and relax within the company of animals. Also a great place for date night young and old. This is a fun stop on a day trip or nice evening under the stars with ice cream.

The grits were also a bit too watery for me. I had to add salt and pepper, along with the butter given to me in my order, to give it some depth. While I think that this is a lovely local restaurant, the food could be better. I would give it a 2.5/5 stars if I could.
