I have been coming here regularly for about 3 years. Their pricing is similar to surrounding salons but I have almost always had excellent experiences. Gel manicure lasts at least 3 weeks, sometimes I can get away with 4. Nail technicians have all been experienced and work quickly but with good attention to detail. They used to have signs up requesting preference for cash but I notice those signs are now gone. They have made diligent efforts to keep their customers safe during the COVID pandemic with all employees wearing masks, gloves, caps, and protective suits over clothings. All stations are socially distanced with plexiglass barriers between spa seats. The only thing holding them back from a 5-star rating is slightly outdated decor, but overall not a significant drawback for the excellent service! read more

Had THE BEST pedicure today at Red Lotus. My pedi tech was Krystal. She was so sweet; concentrated on me the customer. I've had many pedicures here over the years and this was THE BEST ever. I purchased the $40 pedicure that included a 10 min leg/foot massage. She concentrated on my feet and calf's without asking. In the past the massage from other techs was a simple up and down rub motion of the calf. Todays service is what should be expected when you pay for the massage service. I'll be back AND will request Krystal. She deserved the generous tip I gave her. read more

I got my manicure and pedicure done yesterday and I was happy to see that Red Lotus is following all Covid protocols, they have transparent screens between the nail technicians and customers as well as screens between each customer in pedicure area. Staff was attentive, professional and polite. I was pretty sleepy at the end of the day and I was happy that I was able to quietly relax in their pedi cozy leather massage chair (have the settings on knead & tapp if you like gentle back massage). I didn't have a massage for a long time so that was so relaxing..! I managed to have 2 full massage rounds before we got to red nail polish part were I had to switch if off (for obvious reasons:) ). I went in and got a full set of pink and white ANC with tips I got right in the girl told me don't worry honey I will take care of you this was on Friday, June 28, 2019 by Tuesday, July 2nd the first one popped off I walked in he charged me five dollars to get it fixed which I think is ridiculous they should've fixed it for free. Yesterday on July 4th my second one popped off. Both of my nails are broken off very easily there was no pain at all. They came off in the shower I keep my nails very short so they are not getting caught on anything they are just coming off like little TicTac's. Now I feel like I have to go and get my nails totally re-done by someone else who knows more of what they're doing. This place was a total waste of my time and money. I've been here a few times before and things were ok, the last time I went was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon EVER! The girl was so rough, instead of asking me to get closer was pulling on my arms. Also, in her rushing her instrument slipped while removing gel and cut me. Update: after being treated to such horrible customer service at Red Lotus we went over to Nail Studio nearby and were seen right away, given perfect mani/pedi and great customer service. We decided to come to this salon, I'm now wondering why . I had heard stories from past customers that they were left with infections after visiting this salon , but I didn't want to just go based on hearsay. The salon looked clean enough so I decided to come with my sister for back to school . While there I have never seen such rudeness and prejudice. They took four clients who came in after us (without appointments). They barely even acknowledged we came in or that we had been sitting there for a while before they hastily rushed to serve other customers. When they finally decided to serve us they were curt, rude ,and huffed and puffed the entire time while serving us. My sister and I were the only African American clients in the salon and we did not see this treatment being given to other customers. I am not sure why they acted this way , my money is just as good as anyone else's and this behavior was completely unacceptable. What a waste of money! I live very close to this salon and decided to give it a try. I generally go to Will nails in Clifton Park but out of convenience of location decided to try it. I asked for the mani/pedi special $30. I am not exaggerating when I say I was in and out of there in 25 minutes! I barely sat down and dipped my feet in teh water and she took five minutes to shape the toenails beore starting to apply poilish. No scrubbing or using a stone to smooth the feet nothing! The girl never even asked if I would like to pay extra for callous remover. I asked her if she was going to use the stone and she acted like she didn't speak English. My first time at Red Lotus. I was a walk in for a pedicure--they took me right away. Nicole was my nail tech, and she did a wonderful job. She was very delicate, but didn't miss a thing. I was looking for a specific color I didn't see on display, and another woman searched through their inventory until she found exactly what I was looking for--great customer service. Just got a mediocre pedicure from this place. Used to be so good now it's just about getting people done as fast a possible. There are cheaper pedicures in Clifton Park that give you more for a better price. I received very little scrub, very little massage, no cuticle care, I had to ask for her to remove the fuzz between the nail and skin because she wasn't going to do it. In addition, polish was left on my skin. You too can experience this mediocrity for $25. The people are pleasant, but I do not recommend this place, unless you don't care, can't see, or are in a hurry. I will have to go home and finish the job that was started. I won't be back. I walked in without an appointment and they were rather busy so I wasn't expecting too much. They asked me to pick my color ANC and then I proceeded to wait another minute or two. Winnie took great care of me. She asked me if I wanted a pedicure, I said yes, I then was proceeded to sit in a pedicure chair. My feet were in the water probably 5-10 minutes before someone else did my pedicure, which was great! Winnie then finished my ANC manicure, which was finished with a shoulder massage. The shop was much larger than I expected and the music was soft. It was rather quiet even though it was busy. I would recommend it. It was a pretty good experience. My ANC and pedicure was $50 together. They ask for cash tips, so be prepared for that. Overall it was a good experience, who knows if I'll go back since I typically go to a different salon but I was desperate. read more

Best salon in the Capital region. It may not be glamours but the quality is unparalleled. The powder gel polish I have them do stays for 4-5 weeks unscuffed and unbroken. Sadly, the service is not what it used to be. Red lotus is a very clean salon, that is one of the reasons I've gone there for many years. Unfortunately, I will not go back. I had a mani pedi and it was the worst one I ever had at any salon. Because I was worried about being there for a long time I chose the simple pedicure. It was supposed to include a foot massage. The attendant rubbed each leg for about a minute and never touch my feet during the massage. She did do a good job on the polish. Then off to the manicure. They did not soak my hands, she quickly filed my nails and trimmed my cuticles then she sprayed my hand with an antiseptic, which stung, then asked me to pay. She polished my nails and moved me to the drying table. Despite that the brochure clearly said that the $15 manicure came with a hand massage, it did not happen. They used to give you a quick neck massage, that is no longer the case. All together it was over $50 with the tip. I go to relax and get pampered, there was nothing relaxing or pampering about my experience. Too bad, this was one of my favorite places and I recommend it to many people. Last week I had ANC done on my nails. Overall the technician did a good job but I asked for more rounded nails and some are more rounded than others. Ok I can deal with that. When it was time to pay for my friend and I, we had a gift card worth a certain amount. I said I would pay the rest with a bank card. The owner asked me for cash instead. I said that didn't have cash. She was really pushy and said to my friend you pay cash and she will take you out to lunch. She then laughed. I didn't see the humor and I think I find humor in a lot of things. It was super odd and rude and very pushy. If you don't want credit cards then don't have signs say you take credit cards. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is that the guy did a decent job. We will not be returning to this nail salon. read more

I have been getting ANC with tips for years and I have never had my nails done so poorly as I did at Red Lotus Salon. I first went on the Friday after thanksgiving with my mother. They did not clean the seats after each customer, and unlike many other nail salons during Covid-19 they were reusing the nail files. They also had a total stranger sit next to me and they were not following the social distancing guidlines. The nail tech then buffed my nails way to much to the point where they were sore. About four days after my nail appointment I noticed a crack in my nail, which I understand happens but it should not happen within one week. I have never had to pay to have my nail fixed at any other salon but at this place they made me pay. When I told the nail tech what happened he called over the manager and they all treated me like I was lying about how long I had the nails done. During the process of them fixing my nail they were rude and there was no hospitality. I personally will not being going back to the Red Lotus salon because they do not do good work and is not worth the money. And today was the tipping point. I pay to have a pedicure, because I can't do it myself, to my satisfaction. But this one, my granddaughter could of done a better job, AND wouldn't have been as painful. Very disappointing experience. This was my second time coming to red lotus for an ANC manicure and I left feeling thoroughly disappointed. The nail technician was rude when I told her she was hurting me with a tool and even though I asked her to stop she told me she had to do it and asked if it was my first time getting ANC. I have been getting ANC for years and not only was she condescending but she rushed through the entire manicure. It felt as if I was getting a fast food lunch rather than a relaxing spa experience. Every step of the manicure she clearly rushed through and she tried to end the manicure before even putting any lotion on my hands. When I asked if she would she got even more annoyed and started muttering under her breath in another language. Only to quickly lotion my hands while I was standing up. I have gone to this place a few times for ANC. The first couple of times were great. But the last two times I've gone the technicians seem rushed and very rude. I called ahead and scheduled an apt for my friend and I. They did not place us next to each other as I had requested. They kept rushing us on picking a color. Then when I said that I wanted tips they told me "I don't need tips". My nails were basically nonexistent. I had to convince them to give me tips and she was annoyed at this request.
