Toys were attractively arranged, neatly on display, easy to see, and price tags were clear and present. Some toys were fairly priced, like stuffed animals and Legos (curated sets, not basic ones), but we found the STEM/STEAM and science-y stuff to be a bit overpriced. The kit we exchanged for was 20% cheaper on Amazon. Another board game was 3x the price of the identical thing at Ollie's. I always try to support local businesses, but I don't have the kind of disposable income where I can afford to pay much over competitor prices. For what my son wanted, we felt a little frustrated driving a half hour from home (each way) and paying $6 more than having Amazon shipped to our door. Yes, it was a gift credit, so we didn't "pay" ourselves, but to have gotten a comparable price plus a small $6 extra little toy would have been nice. I think this is a great store to find items unavailable elsewhere (like some of the collectible LEGO sets, and stuffed animals), or for people unfamiliar with current kids' toys (grandparents, etc.) to get good recommendations and solid choices. Paying a premium is worth it to them. They did mention a rewards program, so locals will benefit from that taking the edge off of the competitor margins. Managed to get there on a good day, easy parking. it's a small shopping center, y'know? Walking in, it literally was wall-to-wall vintage collectibles. Many still in their packages. Walking through it all brought a sense of nostalgia, but at the same time I felt a dull pain--in my wallet. Whatever your focus is, collecting can be expensive and time consuming. Star Wars, Barbie, He-Man, Star Trek (to a lesser extent)...DC/Marvel superheroes. Collectible toy cars (Hot wheels, etc.). There's a lot to look at. Some in their own package, some bagged specifically for the store. 85% of what's there are action figures and such. The rest is a mix of collectible comics, toy cars, and other odd bits. I'd say the prices are reasonable, though a handful of the limited edition collectibles (such as a Sideshow figure of Ghost Rider on his flaming bike) had prices which gave heart palpitations. Era-wise, I'd say the vast majority of toys there are mid-70's on. So there are toys related to "The Six Million Dollar Man", as an example. There were some older 50's era pieces as well. And, like i said, some comics. If I had more time to look I would've stayed longer, but time's the one thing I didn't have. Speaking of which, they were out of the one thing I was looking for. Not a problem, though. If it's not there I won't be tempted to buy it. One more thing: They opened up a 'dollar store' version of the shop a few doors down. It has what you'd expect to find there.

For doing business with you? Because something had what seems like false advertising on the box? It wasn't broken, but it did not adjust. I'm not sure how a four-year-old would be able to use that bike (The age was 18 months to four years old with an adjustable seat). Considering that seat doesn't adjust up and down makes it a bit odd to advertise such a large age gap. I left the store thinking that she was clearly mad at me and upset that I had returned the bike.That attitude at a children's store is just not the way to do business. These are quality toys, games, models and art supplies. Maybe you pay a touch more but they hold up. I know. I have three nieces who "stress test" everything. Second, the staff are exceptionally welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. I have questions about gifts for my nieces, and the employees at Busy Bee Toys take the time to ask questions about my nieces' interests and engage me rather than just trying to "sell" me.
