Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this facility. After boarding my dog, I brought her home and found she had fleas. She is on regular flea prevention and has never had fleas before, which makes this especially concerning. When I reached out, I was told they are not responsible due to a clause in their agreement. Policies aside, maintaining a clean and properly treated facility should be a basic standard of care. I would strongly encourage others to ask questions about their pest control practices before boarding. read more

I picked up my dog and noticed there was some blood. The receptionist said that he bit his lip just then and that was what was causing the bleeding. However, once I got him home it was obvious that he has been bitten by another dog in the face. He has puncture wound spots on either side of his mouth. The spot that was bleeding was infected, swollen and oozing puss. It definitely did not just happen right when I arrived but a few days prior. Plus, what dog bites their own lip??? My boy is 5 years old and has never bitten his lips. I would never let my puppy stay at this place again! read more

Don't expect the Hilton but do expect the spirit of Hilton hospitality. They love and care for our dogs, they are a friendly, down to earth couple that own this place. Very accommodating to your needs in every way. We have two small dogs that we don't want mixing with other dogs. This is one of the few pet boarding resorts which not only keeps them separate, but they have their own lanai as well. (Lake view) There is a private indoor and outdoor area for each small unit. They close the little doors at night to keep them warm. The place could use some upgrading, paint, yet my dogs don't care and we rather have them loved than spend money on fancy cameras or other fancy items. They also walk the dogs and offer many additional services. When the owner has 14 dogs of their own on the other side of the campus, you know they love dogs. Not sure about their cat lounging, but dogs are a def winner in our book. We will return. read more

I boarded my 2 cats here when I was in transition from selling my house and moving into a new apartment complex. It was a very stressful time for me and I would have to board my cats for a month. I was very worried about that. But, Moya and Marcus from day one were there for me and my babies! They are animal lovers with big hearts and there place is in a country setting that is "heaven" to the animals they board. No fancy 4 walls and strict rules. It's all about the animals and lots of care and love. They have many return clients for good reason!! I have never boarded my cats before but recently relocated and needed to do so while looking for housing. I booked this place site unseen and have absolutely no regrets! I would recommend this place to anyone needing to board their pets. The owner is amazing! She is very friendly and genuinely cares for each of the animals as if they are her own. One of my kitties has a lot of anxiety and she made sure to give him special attention everyday and I was never once worried about his care or treatment. All of the staff are extremely friendly and equally caring. I felt like I was leaving my cats with friends. I will absolutely use their services again should I need them! Thank you so much Moya and all staff! It was so hard for me to leave my babies but it is so comforting to know they are in such good hands. Terrible organization, unfair booking system, and in denial of any wrong doing when I tried to give them honest feedback. I contacted them well in advance of the holidays. They told me they were already booked up full. I found that odd so far in advance. They said I would be #1 on the waiting list and they would give all existing bookings a particular date to confirm 100%. That day past and they told me they were still waiting on some of the "IFFY Long term customers that always book way in advance" I told them that's not fair because the deadline for them had past. They ignored me. Then the day before I travel they call me and let me know they have a spot. Too late for me as I already made other reluctant plans. They had no empathy for my time or frustration. Do not deserve to be in business. Managing bookings fairly is not rocket science! read more

We boarded our 10 year old dachshund Fernando overnight. He is overly sensitive and usually has issues whenever we board him. When we picked him up the next day he was happy to see us -- but more importantly he wasn't in a rush to leave. His tail wasn't between his legs and he went right back to Moya to be petted some more. No stomach issues when we got him home. We'll be using this wonderful place again. I will pass up the glitzy "state-of-the-art" places for this "dog loving" place from now on. read more

We've used Just4Paws twice now. Our dog loves it. While I (Mrs. Bizz writing) was very skeptical to board our young Shiba Inu because they are notorious escape artists, Moira (definitely have the name incorrect but ya know, she runs the place)is very careful and lives on site. The dogs are never left totally alone, and are located between farms in a quiet part of Sarasota. We will use them again, I can tell our dog likes it because even though she runs to the car, she always gives Moira "kisses" before she bolts out the door. :-) also....on both occasions our dog (LeeLoo) comes back better behaved....yup...WIN! read more

I came to Sarasota last year on Vacation- I rented a condo for a month. I have 3 Shiba Inu's 2 were Elderly and one is a puppy- The owners are great and I can tell they are animal lovers. I know because I am an animal lover! My oldest got sick and Moya called me right away to let me know- She took very good care of my pets and the room my pets were in was a suite, they had their own fenced in back yard- The owners allowed me to come and visit my pets whenever I wanted to, I would go 2 to 3 times a week to see them, I watched them handle the other pets, the pets loved them. I would recommend this place for your pets. The best in Sarasota! the most spacious kennels most of them are indoor and outdoor. read more

My advice, don't bring your dog here! My dog stayed here for 10 days, when I got him back he had pink eye in both eyes. Not only that but he had hardly been eating anything, which is very frustrating because I had called 3 times while away and the owners had made up stories about how great he was doing. I had asked specifically each time he was eating and they said yes. When I returned I knew right away the trembling mess was certainly not ok and had not been eating. I would have returned early if I had known what a horrible time he was having. To make it worse when I called the kennel the next morning in concern of the puss in his eyes, the owner told me, he could have gotten it anywhere and they were not responsible. I picked him up at 4:30pm and called them at 9:30am the next morning. read more

Our Ringo and Pixie have boarded at Just 4 Paws several times in the past 2.5 years. they have been there for long weekends as well as several weeks at a time at all times of year. they are always so happy to get there...how odd is that for dogs to actually WANT to go in to their " room"? they head in to their same room happily. when we fetch them, they are always very happy and healthy. i know our babies are treated like family and i have no concerns about leaving them for play camp while we are gone. we have great peace of mind as moya and marcus live on site and the place is well out of hurricane evac zones. i have checked on the kids several times on our longer trips via email and moya always answers back promptly. read more

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. Not clean, absolutely filthy. Luxury? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. It's a dump. Disgustingness rooms with unclean blankets from several past animals that look like they have never been washed. The litter box wasn't changed and our poor kitten left with the runs. The people are very nice, however I will not step door back in that place. Also, charge is $15 a night, and they fail to tell you that you must pick up by 11 AM or they charge for another day! Our kitten wasn't even there 24 hrs before we came back when we found a better shelter and decided we would not leave him there another minute...he was dropped off at 5 PM and picked up the next day at 2 PM and we were charged $30. It's a scam and a rip off. Grass isn't even cut. These people need to get it together. read more

Absolutely thrilled with them!! We were cautious about leaving our South African Mastiff just anywhere because not everyone knows how to handle this size dog breed. They were more than capable and have a very well run business! Both owners were very accommodating with both drop off and pick up. Our plane landed in the evening in Tampa, yet they still met us to pick him up at 8pm. Our fur baby was treated well there and although happy to see us, didn't seem anxious to leave them at all. (Which to me, was a clear sign he enjoyed it) We will definitely recommend Just4paws to anyone in need of boarding and will be repeat customers in the future.
