Rick runs the front and makes scheduling super easy -- just leave a voicemail and he calls back quickly with flexible options. He's always friendly, professional, and on top of everything. The grooming is top-notch: my pup came out with clean ears, neatly trimmed nails, shaped paw hair, and the perfect cut behind the ears, tail feathers, and nether region. They'll even degland if needed. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality of care. I've tried other groomers, but none match the consistency, attention to detail, and care here. After years - no more. I had been taking my dog here for grooming since I first got him. They have provided him decent grooming and overall service. But for some reason this last time, they did a horrible job. So that was literally our last time! I had made the appointment weeks in advance, but the day before they asked me to bring him a half hour early as they had another appointment pretty much the same time as my dog. Not certain if they double booked or what, but after I picked him up (very shortly after having dropped him off) I began to realize he really hadn't been fully groomed. The haircut was not as good as normal (with the ears having been trimmed shorter than I ask then to) ... it appeared as though he wasn't bathed, as his hair was not soft ... he began scratching a lot and I noticed excessive dander. While the conditions are real, I am only speculating as to why they had to so rush my dog's grooming. I just really, really, really wish they had just called me to reschedule to another day, when they could have given him full attention. PS - yes, they did charge me for a full groom. Anyways you live and you learn ... it just me many years to learn, I guess. But long story short ... I won't be bringing my dog there for grooming anymore - which sucks because of our long history and they are convenient to me!! read more

Took my golden in for a summer 'doo'. They followed my request exactly, She was done sooner than expected and the price was cheaper than I normally pay. The business was clean and groomers were courteous and caring. I asked them to give her water which they did and to call me before she was done so she wouldn't have to hang around in the cage any longer than necessary -which they did. They always do a good job on our three dogs. They seem like the only place in Bradenton that knows how to properly schedule, since most other places have month long waits. He was groomed five weeks before this appointment so not in bad shape but they used the excuse that he was badly matted. The staff at Pup in a Tub has been great with my great big 55-lb scaredy rescued dog. I only take him for nail trims so far because he's so scared of strangers, but Brandy has been really great with him. She started using the dremel the last time we were there and though I thought it would scare him even more than the clippers, it didn't. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is the cleanliness factor. They could work on keeping up with the pet hair everywhere. But that hardly matters since Brandy is patient, kind and gentle with my big fraidy dog. I love her and I wouldn't take him anywhere else. read more

I have taken my pups here since day one. The service is satisfactory and they sell a plethora of natural pet products which I like. The price is very reasonable. I have pomeranians which other groomers usually charge an arm & a leg for. One thing that knocked their rating down a little is the staff-- they are not very friendly. My dog is very timid and they don't do much to comfort him. They pretty much grab his leash and drag him to the back. Also, their hygiene---- A few times I have been in.. one of the employee's baby was there rolling around in a kiddy car barefoot amongst all of the pet hair. read more

I have been taking my mini schnauzer (9 years old) there for a few years. NO MORE. The girl who works there and has groomed my dog many times said I would have to pay $5 more because my dog was biting at her while she tried to comb her matting! The owner was not there. When I arrived to pick up my dog "the girl" shaved my dog to the bare skin and then would not let me get my dog out of the cage because I told her I was only going to pay $50 and not the $5 add'l as I always paid the same amount and was NEVER told that there was a $5 charge for nipping dogs who didn't like the matting being combed. She then called the owner and told him I was a "f**kng old lady". The owner came a few minutes later, and I was then able to get my dog out of the cage. I paid him the usual $50 and as I left he yelled at me that I had a "bad dog"! I don't think he had any idea that "the girl" was charging me $5 for nipping dog. (She actually said my dog was biting her even though she had absolutley no bite marks or nipping marks on her at all!) Too bad there were no other customers in the shop except for another "girl" who worked there. I am sure the story would have been different if there were other customers in the shop who witnessed the atrosities my dog and I had to endure. I'd like to know how many dogs just love it when their matting is being combed. I never touched her nor did I swear at her. She did all the screaming and swearing! read more

One evening my friend was enjoying fresh air on my patio. While sitting in the chair, a beautiful kitty cat came and just jumpped up and start purring and rubbing up against him. He was SO SWEET! SWEETEST CAT I EVER MET!! WE ALREADY had 3 cats and the cat belonging to my son has been in our family for years, being a boy, and teritorial, so needlesly to say, they would fight at every passing. I named our founded cat "Rascal".. One day Rascal could not hold his paw up. We thought it was broke. My sons friend offered to take him, and care for him. I had to deflea him, and get him a bath before he would take him, which I was very sad to have to give him up. Pup in the Tub is 3 blocks away, so I stopped in to inquire cost. The man (thinking his name was Tim) said he liked to do nice things for ppl who care for rescued animals, and find them good homes, so his service to bath Rascal was FREE! Also, one of the girls PRIOR to working for him was a vet assistant, and guessed he may have broke a paw in a sqwabble! As they were gently bathing Rascal, they discovered a cat toenail sticking in his paw from our other cat Simba! It was stuck way down in his paw causing him much pain. When I came to pick him up, he told me why Rascal was limping, and didnt charge me a dime!!! Pup in the Tub is the BEST ANIMAL CARE SERVICE in Bradenton, Fl. They are ALL SUPER NICE PPL. and truely love, & care for your pets. Thank you, Pup in the Tub for being so kind to Rascal! The Owner even said that Rascal was the BEST CAT they have ever serviced! I took my Golden Retriever in for grooming. I was told it would take 3 hours. fter 3 hours I called and was told it would be another hour. I went to pick him up and he was tehthered inside of a kennel and still wet. The groomer proceeded to start to dry him in the kennel on the short tether. I think he may have been tied up on the short leash for 3 hours before they even bathed him, didn't bathe him until I called. The place looks dirty and the staff also looked unkempt and unprofessional. They did not even know my dog's name. I will not go back. read more

We are visiting in the Bradenton, FL area with our 4 year old Golden Retriever. She was smelling a little "doggy", so we decided to have her groomed at Pup In A Tub. First, they told us $25-$30 dollars, but charged $40 when we picked her up. We told them we didn't want anything taken off her tail feathers, but they really trimmed her there. Worse, they shaved her anal area so close, she's been spending the last 3 days just licking her butt. We've consulted with our Vet at home, and have purchased $15 worth of meds for her. She's slowly getting better, but this has been a traumatic experience for both her & us. When we told them of what happened, they admitted they shaved her too close, said they were sorry, and to let them know how she was doing. Guess what? When I returned to pick my dog up, she talked me through the steps she took to make my dog feel comfortable and secure, then showed me video after video of her playing with him. I have a Yorkie. Took the wrong dog home after questioning a female employee....told her the dog wasn't mine, she insisted that it was. The Yorkie I took home could have been my girl's twin.. I asked if there was another Yorkie there, she said No. This sweet little dog even answered to my dog's name. When I went back to the store, the owners were MIA and the only explanation was..."it happens." Plus, the haircut my girl got is uneven...I shouldn't have brought her there on a Saturday as she was rushed through and it shows. Time to find another groomer. read more
