I finally decided after many years of contemplating, to have a rhinoplasty. I researched doctors/practices for literally 3 years to find the right doctor. I took my search very seriously! This is my face and I needed to find the right doctor. I looked everywhere and I mean everywhere! I considered going to Beverly Hills, NYC and several other states to get the procedure done. I met and had consultations with countless plastic surgeons and even a few "celebrity surgeons" but none of them were the right fit for me. One day I decided let's see who's good in the DC area and, I came I'm across several doctors; however one of them in particular stood out to me. Dr. Cohen! His work was exceptional. I loved his natural and delicate approach. It was definitely my cup of tea. I was quick to look up his educational background, work history and level of experience; it was just what I was looking for. It was time to finally meet him. It was very easy to set up a consultation. I expressed my concerns to his staff who were all super understanding and make sure all my questions were answered even before I met with the doctor. On consultation day with Dr. Cohen, I was instantly blown away. He was so freaking down to earth, kind,professional and very respectful. It was like meeting a friend! He has the best is bedside manner! My consultation wasn't rushed, like some of my other consultations. He took the time to get to know me and made sure to address all my questions and concerns. I told him I still wanted to look like me, and didn't want to get rid of my ethnic nose just want to tweak it. He explained to me everything step by step and even showed me a digital image of what he had in mind for me. It was literally as if he read my mind as to what I wanted. Dr. Cohen took the time to address all my concerns and worries I had prior to surgery day. I probably asked the same questions over and over again and he continued to reassure me every step of the way. On surgery day I was a nervous wreck! The staff was absolutely absolutely AMAZING! I cannot stress that enough. Everyone I met that day put all my worries to ease. I was able to meet everyone who was going to be with me in surgery prior to surgery. That was so comforting. When the surgery was over I was out of it. However when I got home, not only did Dr. Cohen give us a call to see how everything was but even the anesthesiologist called to check on me. They both provided me their cell number to call or text if I have any problems. I couldn't believe it. I could actually reach my doctor directly if I need something. How freaking amazing! My swelling and bruising was minimal and pain wasn't anything crazy. Healing was not as bad as. thought it would be. The day my cast came off I was blown away! I was in love with my nose. Dr. Cohen explained to me the journey with the swelling and healing. I walked out knowing exactly what to expect. It was so nice that he took the time to do that. He continued to see me every few months to check my progress which is so wonderful. Most surgeons I know see you once or maybe twice and than they are done with you, which totally sucks. I am 6 months in and absolutely love love love my nose! It is just what I wanted and the best part is that I still look like me! I can't recommend Dr. Cohen enough. He is an exceptional doctor and I am blessed to have found him. I will trust no one else with my face EVER! If he moves to the moon I will follow him! Beyond Anything I Could Have Ever Hoped For I'd always wanted to fix my nose, I was uncomfortable with the size and had been for YEARS. After heading to yelp and google for some guidance I finally decided to book a consultation at West End Plastic Surgery and the rest is history. PHENOMENAL. Professional isn't a generous enough word to describe the treatment I received. From the very first meeting with Dr.Cohen I was treated with respect and kindness and he went out of his way to ensure that I was happy with the final image of what the end result would be. He answered every question and took the time to make sure I felt completely comfortable. Danielle was also incredible at explaining all the finances, payment options and cost breakdowns- I knew exactly what I was paying for and when it was due. The pre- and post-op and operation itself could not have gone smoother. Dr.Cohen and his team were beyond expectations. I'd never had any kind of surgery before so was understandably very nervous, it was also early in the morning and because of COVID I had to go into the practice alone. All of those concerns were gone within 5 minutes. Small attention to details like warming the chair and gown for me and staying with me to chat made me so at ease. I'm so nervous of needles and pass out with blood tests but the nurses and anaesthesiologists were so friendly, comforting and went out of their way to ensure I'd be ok. They explained everything I needed, and what to expect pre, during and post op. They even provided me with their phone numbers for any immediate queries after the surgery. What surprised me even more were the follow up calls later that evening (at 9pm!) from both the head anaesthesiologist and Dr.Cohen himself- which I not expecting that at all given how busy I imagine he was. The level of care- incomparable. I rarely write reviews, but this practice, Dr.Cohen and everyone there deserves to be recognised for their incredible work. When I saw the final results I couldn't believe how amazing it was- Dr.Cohen is truly a master at what he does and I am in awe that I look exactly like the photos he created for me at the beginning! After working hard for two years to get a promotion, I decided to treat myself to some neglected physical rejuvenation in connection with a diet and exercise program. I shopped around at 5 options in the DMV area before deciding I felt the most comfortable with Dr. Cohen. He was honest, straightforward and the only doctor I met with who did not make me feel like I was on a car lot. I have a pushy personality so if I feel pressured by a doctor, it really goes south fast. I initially went in with the intent of a chin/jaw augmentation due to weight fluctuations, the lack of a genetically gifted chin and the start of the effects of gravity (I'm 38). However, what I really wanted was an exploration of things that based on Justin's experience would work well for my facial structure. I'm very "go big or go home" so I settled on a real tasting menu of procedures that were to work in concert with each other by taking my fat-ish face and lack of bone structure and giving me more "model-like features" without making me look like a different person or obvious case of surgery. Rather than just a chin implant, we combined it with a host of things that achieved the look of superior bone structure and angles: neck lipo & lift; chin implant; buccal fat pad removal; cheek implants and finally a fat transfer at the mandible to square off my jaw as well as to fill in my tear troughs (under eye loss of collagen). The results are amazing and I'm only about 5 weeks out. The buccal fat removal working with the mandible fat transfer and chin implant give me an enviably squared off jaw...it's perfect. Most of all - I've gotten a ton of compliments from randoms on my cheek bones - without Justin's insight, I would have never realized the impact that could provide...it just wasn't on my radar. Deb, the counselor and coordinator, is amazing at her job and makes everything so easy. Finally, the office is beautiful, which matters to some (for cosmetic procedures you want to feel like you are in a luxurious place). My opinion is mainly driven by results - I'm fairly no frills if the result is awesome, but I'll say the fact that they operate in their own office rather than one of those gross surgery centers is huge and the consistent zero wait time for my follow-ups is a huge plus for me running over during the work day. I had an amazing experience working with Dr. Cohen for my Neograft hair transplant! It's been four months since the procedure and everything looks great, with the new hairs coming in nice and full. He was warm, kind, and professional from the initial consult, where he answered all of my many questions about how the treatment would work. Dr. Cohen performed a detailed examination of my scalp to see if I would be a good candidate, and the first thing he said was that I didn't 'need' a transplant (which is true, but I still wanted a lower hairline than I currently had). That same honest, 'no pressure' attitude toward having the procedure done made me feel very comfortable throughout the process, knowing that he truly cared about what I wanted as a patient and that it was not just a business transaction. He was very thorough in going over all of the pre and post-op instructions with me and made himself available by cell phone and email, always being incredibly responsive when I had more questions come up. On the day of the procedure, the Neograft technician was unable to make it due to a medical emergency, so Dr. Cohen was flexible and made room to still take part in the process the following day when another technician was available, even though he already had other patients scheduled then. This was particularly important for me, since I have a public-facing career and was already bumping up against the two week 'heal' time where I would have the normal bruising and swelling, and needed to be in relative seclusion for that time before returning to work. He worked with my schedule even when it was probably not the most convenient for him. In addition to being a top surgeon, Dr. Cohen also has a great eye and drew a very natural-looking line to guide hair transplant procedure, which is key to having an optimal result. My review for Dr. Justin Cohen at West End Plastic Surgery- I'm in my early 30's, and I knew for a couple years I wanted to have my chin/neck appearance enhanced. My neck/chin area was chubbier looking than the rest of my body, it bothered me a lot but I was nervous for a while to actually do something about it (losing weight had no effect). I am so glad I did my research and contacted Dr. Cohen's office! I had my first consultation over video chat and right off the bat I felt comfortable and excited to get this work done. Dr. Cohen is extremely personable, professional and really good at understanding what I wanted and discussing the goal and my options. Then I had my in person consultation discuss in more detail the goal for the results and exactly would be done, and to agree on the game plan so I felt very comfortable with the approach. We also took "before" pictures and I could see with a simulation what the results would look like. This was already a great experience because of Dr Cohen's personality, expertise, and level of dedication he showed. The day of surgery went so smoothly and everything went according to plan. The communication from the office was so timely and thorough. I also really appreciate how immediately responsive Dr. Cohen was when I emailed him after surgery to ask a few questions! I had minimal pain and a surprisingly minimal recovery time before I was out and about again. Even though Dr. Justin Cohen came highly recommended, I did my due diligence and had a few consults and spoke to dozens of patients and friends. All roads led me back to Dr. Cohen at West End. The overall experience was outstanding on every level. At my pre-op appointment, every detail was discussed along with pre-op requirements and post-op care. I felt extremely informed about every aspect of the surgery. West End has a surgery center in the office which feels like an upscale operating room because I guess that's exactly what it is. On the day of the surgery, the nurse, Jill Ruff, held my hand through the entire process. But let's talk about the piece de resistance...the outcome! Dr. Cohen is an artist and a master plastic surgeon. The resounding comment that I heard from nearly everyone I spoke to was that he is fastidious and precise almost to the point of being fussy which is why I ultimately booked my surgery. I had an upper and lower bleph with an under eye fat transfer and CO2 laser, and let me just tell you, I have my eyes from 1990. Actually, I have the eyes I wish I had in 1990. I'm the old me, but better. The post surgery care has been amazing. Dr. Cohen checked on me frequently in the days following the surgery and I've had multiple post-op appointments. I'm 35 and I had upper bleth done with Dr. Cohen in early January. It's Feb 3rd, almost 1 month out, and I cannot believe how amazing my eyelids look. I currently have a slight red scar that is pretty much hidden when my eyes are open and my husband who didn't think I needed the procedure done at all, has commented that he didn't notice the fat/heavy eyelid before, but he can tell a huge difference now. I look so much more awake! And the best part is, they are so natural looking. I was really scared about the procedure and Dr. Cohen was very patient and understanding and not pushy at all. Dr. Cohen has incredible bedside manner - he is personable, really listens, doesn't pressure you to do anything you don't want to do and is just incredibly kind. I chose to go under anesthesia and because of that, the procedure itself felt like 1 minute. The two weeks of stitches was not as bad I thought it would be. (I had laser eye surgery two years prior and thought that was a lot more painful of a recovery!) I kept on top of all of my after care and iced as recommended and experienced limited bleeding and swelling. It was mostly just discomfort. People who saw me at two weeks couldn't even tell that I just had stitches out because the lines are hidden so well. When I was researching doctors who specialized in facial plastic surgery in my area - I was blown away by Dr. Cohen's credentials and work. I made an appointment for a consultation and the rest is history. I was very picky on who I chose to perform work on my face. Dr. Cohen listened to my concerns and then also offered his professional opinion - we decided the best results for me would be to have an extended Deep Plane Facelift (which can only be preformed by about 5% of doctors in the country as of date); a neck lift with extensive sculpting, and under eye blepharoplasty (with a tiny bit of fat grafting and light C02 resurfacing). I even asked him while he was at it to add a tiny bit of fat to my lips! When I woke up from surgery, I was scared to look in the mirror - not know what to expect, but to my surprise I thought I looked great to have just had such extensive work done. The very next day was my follow up - and when the wrap came off - I was AMAZED at what I saw. My jawline is that of an 18 year old. Day 3-5 was the most intense as far as swelling, but I promise if you trust the process, it's well worth it! If you are thinking about whether or not to chose Dr. Cohen - stop thinking and do it! Abstract: I highly recommend Dr. Cohen, and give him full marks for professionalism, communication, and efficacy of treatment. Full: I was referred to Dr. Cohen by my dermatologist for a consult regarding a long scar I had across my left cheek. Given the sheer prevalence of this scar, I was concerned that there was little to be done to revise its appearance. Approximately a year before, I had spoken with another plastic surgeon at an unrelated practice who suggested there was not much to be done to ameliorate its appearance; so I was not expecting much could be done. After expressing my concerns to Dr. Cohen, he provided me treatment options for the scar that I had not known existed. These treatment options were both (1) effective and (2) minimally invasive. During the course of my treatment, Dr. Cohen was accommodating in listening to any concern I expressed, clear in communicating the answers to my questions, and highly effective in the application of the suggested course of treatment. Further, Dr. Cohen and his staff were always friendly and welcoming on my visits. The improvement to this scar is apparent, and I am grateful for Dr. Cohen's work here. Doctor Cohen is a masterful surgeon, and a wonderful human being. I'm a professional Trombonist and I was pushed from monkey bars and fell face first at a very young age. In return I was left with excess skin on the left side of my top lip that never healed correctly. To make a long story short I've been playing the trombone for the last 31 years with that excess skin getting in the way of my air flow in the upper register of the horn. I disclosed my situation I just mentioned to Dr. Cohen, yet he was very empathetic and attentive to my story. Then I relayed to him that I would like to have the excess skin removed and without hesitation and confidently he stated to me that he could do it. In hindsight I have to mention that I researched Dr. Cohen, and his reputation precedes him as a highly regarded top surgeon in the Washington DC area. Almost 7 years ago, I broke my nose and had surgery to fix it along with a deviated septum. Unfortunately, that surgery was botched and I ended up having worse breathing problems and my nose was very crooked. I was very reluctant to get another surgery but as soon as I met Dr. Cohen I knew he'd be the right surgeon to fix my nose. Just over three weeks ago Dr. Cohen performed a rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction on my nose along with a removal of an osteoma on my skull. I still have a long way to go in the healing process but I am absolutely thrilled with what I look like now and how well I can breathe. My nose is completely straight and I have never breathed better. Dr. Cohen is an amazing doctor. He is VERY skilled and a perfectionist. The best doctor I have ever met. I'd been considering rhinoplasty for the better part of 20 years and, naturally, had all the doubts...recovery, down time and, most importantly, what the hell happens if I hate it?! I did extensive research in the DC area and [of course] Dr. Cohen's name popped up for being one of the best. I was about 50/50 going into my consultation with him, I gave it the weekend to deliberate my decision and then confirmed my procedure the next week for a month out. He and his staff gave me so much confidence that it was literally a no-brainer. Everyone was very thorough, not rushed and a little OCD, which I can appreciate in this case! (Don't hate me.) I cancelled the 2 other consultations, nonetheless. After only one week post-op, I am already in love with it. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Cohen. I've wanted a nose job for over ten years and decided that quarantine was the best time to finally get it done. I have been a nurse for 13 years- seven of those years have been in the recovery room and two of those seven years I have been recovering Dr Cohen's patients. I was immediately impressed with his bedside manner- he truly cares about his patients- and it did not take me long to be equally impressed with his attention to detail and his skill as a surgeon. I had known for many years that I would one day have a septorhinoplasty and had been "auditioning" surgeons in my head from my first day in the recovery room. Dr. Cohen was very knowledgeable, honest, and detail oriented. I highly recommend him for surgical and non-surgical needs. In the past I've had non-plastic surgeons inject me with fillers and botox (such as NPs or other MDs) ; the results were not as good, nor do they explain the anatomy the same way a surgeon would. A facial plastic surgeon knows BEST, and Dr. Cohen is one of them. I drove from Annapolis to D.C. to see him specifically. Duing my consultation, he listened to what I wanted and then gave me his professional advice and told me exactly what he could do to meet my expectations. I had under eye filler (a very delicate area) , some filler to my cheek area (to even everything out) , and some preventative botox to the crowsfeet area and between my brows. I did not have any bruising afterwards or pain outside of the norm. He was great! Amazing! I first went to Dr. Cohen for my Septoplasty/Turbinate Reduction, he listened to my concerns and put them at ease, and let me know that it was a routine and easy fix! He was extremely supportive throughout the entire process! I was comfortable asking him questions about other procedures and asked him about facial resurfacing, Dr. Cohen came up with a great fix for an Airman on a budget! We did a Vampire Facial, but instead of using the needle pens that our clinic doesn't have, we used a derma roller. The results were amazing! The overall appearance of my skin has improved drastically! He listened to how unhappy I was about my acne scaring, and came up with an amazing solution with the resources that were available to him. During this time, I told him about the deep wrinkles on my forehead and he told me about Botox, he listened to my concerns and let me know that I was in good hands. He did a great job!
