Overdue post so it's going to be a long one. I had the pleasure of working with Justin and Kelsi for our wedding in June 2023 and it was one of the best decision I made while wedding planning. They are both such wonderful human beings. They have such a great eye for photography and they were so fun to hang out with! During our initial phone call we talked for about 30 minutes, I felt like he was really trying to get to know me and also wanted to make sure we were a right fit for each other. He also did not pressure me to make a decision right away which I really appreciated because I am very indecisive. We did our engagement shoot first in Napa. Justin scoped out all the locations and kept in mind my overall vision into account. He even helped me pick out our outfits and gave advice on what would look best on camera. I think one of the best things about Justin and Kelsi was how much they loved our dog Winston. They knew how important it was to include him in our engagement shoot and wedding and the photos of him did not disappoint! Kelsi even held treats or his tennis ball above the camera to make sure he was looking at the camera. We both felt so comfortable and at ease during our wedding because I knew we had great and professional photographers that were going to take epic photos during the day. They are a calm, but fun presence to have on your wedding day and that's super important for a very hectic day. I also loved how excited Justin always was, even after so many years of photography, I knew he still loves what he does. Having a wedding is one of the most stressful things we've had to put together, so of course hiring an integral vendor such as a photographer is one of the most crucial decisions you'll have to make. With that said, Justin and his team has proven to be one of the best decisions we could have possibly made. With Justin, you don't simply get a photographer who signed up to snap a few pictures. You get a consummate professional who has been doing this work for decades, who went to school to develop his passion and then set off to hone his craft through repetition. Honestly, Justin is so good I didn't even want to call him because I knew there was no way that we could possibly afford his talents. But against my better judgement, we gave him a call, and he worked with us to ensure everything was in our budget and knew exactly what we were going to get. Now the major thing you get from Justin (aside from his ungodly talent) is the experience and professionalism that only someone with decades of work could provide. He broke down the wedding day for us, gave us a timeline even before we had a timeline set with our coordinators. He gave us the pros and cons of every aspect, such as should we start early, late, when to shoot, when not to shoot, etc etc. When we had questions, Justin had answers, when we were stressed, Justin provided that calm mentality to let us know that everything is going well, that we're on track. Honestly, he should get into the coordinating business at this rate :D Now onto the day of, Justin and his team were incredibly friendly, they were total professionals, and provided a level of service we couldn't have dreamed of. You can see how easily (perhaps i'm discounting his abilities here) he handles a camera, how he naturally blends into the background, how he stays out of everyone's way but somehow manages to take candid photos that looks like they were posed for magazines. Half the time I did not see him or his team. I had guests wondering where our photographers were, and some didn't even know we had multiple photographers (which is an amazing thing). He never grabbed us and posed us for a photo, he never asked us to stand here or stand there. He allowed us to have our wedding on our own terms, uncompromising, he allowed us to experience our amazing evening without pulling us out of our environment. He was engaging, and yet, didn't engage us directly. I honestly don't know how he did it, because the photos we received were freaking gorgeous. I honestly thought that the higher the quality of the photos, the worse I would look, but Justin's artistic talents proved that incorrect. His ability to frame shots were simply artistic, his lighting superb (even though we had a November wedding so sunlight was a scarcity), and the fidelity was absolutely breathtaking. Justin was also so down to earth, he was a professional yet he spoke like us, he laughed and joked with us. He eased our anxiety when he knew we were stress. Justin was absolutely one of the best vendors we had at the wedding and we had amazing professionals assisting us every step of the way. There are many regrets you have by the end of the day, did you do this right, did you do that right, was this vendor worth it? Was that money worth it? Why did we pay so much for that? Why didn't we pay enough for this? With Justin, we had zero regrets, ZERO. He captured moments we would have otherwise lost, moments that I was too overwhelmed to see, moments that would have faded into nothing 10-20-30-40-50 years down the line, moments that I wasn't there for. Although we may be done with Justin for now, what he has given us will be remembered for the rest of our days, maybe even our children's. So I would say, if you are on the fence, if you have any doubts, if you are looking for more than a photographer, a genuine person, Justin Lee and his team are your people. They will treat you like family, and in the end, you'll as familiar as family. Thank you Justin, you went above and beyond our expectations, even with 4400 characters and 800 words, nothing I've said will capture the joy, beauty, and wonder you'll get from working with Justin, and the warm, fuzzy, serene feeling you'll get when you look back at the photos of your wonderful day. I wish a 5 star review could do justice for how incredible Justin is to work with. He's a kind, genuine, salt of the earth kind of guy that has a passion and insane talent for capturing the best moments on your special day. We hired Justin to photograph our wedding at Casa Romantica in San Clemente and we could not be happier with how the pictures turned out. I remember a few weeks before our wedding I was worried about where we would take the bride/bridesmaid before ceremony pictures because the original locations started falling through. Naturally, the talented artist Justin, eased my worries and snapped the best pics on the streets on San Clemente and underneath the San Clemente Pier. I love his photography style. I would describe his work as "editorial" or "Vogue" and who the heck wouldn't want their wedding pictures to be described as those two words? All my friends and family compliment the pictures using "Editorial" and "Vogue" as well and it makes my heart explode with excitement because that's exactly what we wanted. As a makeup artist I tend to work with a ton of photographers; but have to say my experience with Justin has been nothing short of wonderful! We met at a magazine brunch and then quickly started working together on styled shoots & magazine features. Not only is he professional, hilarious and passionate about his work; he really gets to know his clients on a personal level. (I feel this is the only way to actually shoot a wedding or event from the couples prospective). Justin is always punctual, happy, ready to shoot and extremely prepared for all the most important yet emotional shots. My fiance and I recently got engaged and without a doubt I called Justin. I seriously trust everything he does and all of his highly trained, amazing assistants! When I lived in San Diego I was OBSESSED with my friends wedding pictures that Justin took. At that point I knew I had to hire him immediately for my wedding. There was no need for me to look anywhere else. Justin did end up taking my wedding photos and I was very happy. If you want to feel like a super model when you look back on your wedding photos, he is your guy. You will definitely not look back on your pics with disappointment. My wife and I just celebrated our one year anniversary and the single best investment we made was hiring Justin to be our wedding photographer. We look at the photos all the time and he really captured the magic of the biggest day (so far) of our lives. He also created a photo DVD and brings tears of joy every time it's shown. My husband and I sat down this afternoon to look through our wedding and engagement photographs to print enlargements for our baby's nursery. It's so amazing to look at these photographs and I cannot thank Justin enough for his phenomenal work! Justin did a fantastic job with both our wedding and engagement pictures! Our wedding day started off with clouds and rain, a stressful start to the day that I had been imagining. Justin and Kelsey arrived onsite and joined the bridal party while we were getting our makeup done. Justin worked with breaks in the rain to get amazing shots as the sun streamed through the clouds, making the vineyard glisten! I was first introduced to Justin Lee at my sister's wedding. He was so easy to work with and had a fantastic eye for detail. He's not your typical wedding photographer - He's artsy, stylish, creative and thinks outside the box which in my eyes is what the wedding industry needs. Justin is an amazing talented photographer who is a thrill to work with. From our very first meeting, Justin was warm and engaging, and had great ideas for how to capture our wedding. He is extremely talented and passionate about his work, and you can tell he is one of those fortunate ones who has found his calling in life. Justin is a very nice person, but I would not agree with other reviewers that claim he is very professional. When I first met him, I thought this is a guy who is good at photography and has found a way to make money with his talents ... but I didn't get the vibe of a professional running a true business. My wife fell in love with his website, and had pretty much pre-decided this was the photographer she wanted for our wedding, so meeting him was mostly a formality. I told her after the meeting that I was concerned about the lack of professionalism. I told her that I felt we'd probably get great photos, but I could envision it taking Justin a longer-than-reasonable amount of time to get the photos back to us. So we hired Justin, and he worked our wedding in mid-July of 2017. For the most part, we liked the photos he took. Some of them are amazing, a lot of them are pretty good. I'm not sure how many he discarded (as opposed to sharing them with us), but I was a little disappointed with how many of them we found unflattering and wanted to throw away. I also thought there would have been more photographs in general. There were also a couple of memorable moments at the wedding that he somehow missed ... I was originally led to believe that he would have a second photographer helping out, but that turned out to not be the case - my assumption is that if there were two photographers, those memories would have been captured ... doesn't really matter, point is those moments weren't caught. In Justin's defense, he gave us a few "preview photos" the very next day, that we were able to share with friends and family (like 10 or so). A couple weeks later, people started asking us to see the rest of our photos, so we started asking Justin when they would be ready. We didn't get the photos until September ... basically 6 weeks after the wedding. While not exactly outrageous, I'd say that's a bit on the late side of things ... most professional studios said they get the photos back to clients within 3 to 4 weeks. But there were also several issues - the photos were available to be seen by anyone off his main page of albums; there were several photos we didn't want shared with anyone; we didn't get links that could be shared with anyone ... just a bunch of little things that I'd place in the "unprofessional" column ... point being, we actually didn't get the photos such that we could share them with friends and family until MID OCTOBER! At this point, I'm not impressed, but Justin is very apologetic, and at least people can finally see the pictures. Next up, we had said all along we wanted to give albums to both sets of parents as gifts. These additional albums were to be carbon copies of the album Justin gives to the wedding couple (us) as part of his service. We gave Justin our photo selections for the albums in September. On multiple occasions over the next few months, we inquired as to the status of the albums - stressing the importance of wanting to give them to our parents as Christmas gifts. Justin didn't have the albums ready until January ... so we missed Christmas ... which to me, was totally unacceptable. But it gets better ... the price of the albums was way more than the price he had mentioned verbally when we first met him ... had I know the astronomical price he was charging for each album, I never would have ordered them. So now we've paid a fortune for late Christmas presents. Just fair warning. read more

We found Justin while we were searching through photographer's websites online trying to find someone to shoot our engagement and wedding. After spending several nights looking at different websites that we found online, we stumbled across Justin's. He was the only photographer that we felt captured the moment of all of the couples he shot. His pictures weren't staged like so many you come across. Justin has a way of engaging with his clients and capturing the different personalities and emotions of everyone he works with. Every shoot is customized to bring out the best in his clients. I cannot say enough positive things about Justin. He is the most creative, generous, honest, and talented photographer out there. A consummate professional who cares about his craft and his clients.
