Highest marks for quality and patient experience! I had my wisdom teeth extracted by another oral surgeon, other than Dr. Raanan, and visited Dr. Raanan's practice for a second option to address lingering concerns I had related to significant post op pain, pain management, and possible infection. What a night and day difference in clinical care! My initial experience with the other surgeon left me in excruciating pain for days. I felt embarrassed and anxious about the chronic pain I experienced (due to lack of pain management practice, a dry socket, and the piece of bone that was extracted along with my wisdom teeth). To add insult to injury, my concerns were minimized. However, in one office visit, Dr. Raanan relieved my concerns and anxiety. I have no infection and 80% of my pain is gone! During my initial appointment, Dr. Raanan spent 90+ min explaining the details of adequate post operative care. He provided an appropriate level of pain management medication given my case, and even included holistic treatment options. Dr. Raanan removed lodged food particles that were stuck in my tooth sockets and then, using light therapy, immediately relieved 80%-90% of my localized pain. Aside from providing a superior level of patient care, Dr. Raanan took the time to *listen* to my concerns (a critical, yet rare competency for some experienced medical providers). He then exceeded my expectations by providing holistic sleep aids, a soft bristled tooth brush (which is essential to use after having wisdom's extracted), arnica for swelling, and a special formulated mouth rinse that is not only safe to use post op, but tastes and smells great! I left my appointment feeling 100% reassured of my progress and, while I still experience some localized soreness related to the extraction, 80-90% of the excruciating pain I was left with previously, is now gone. For quality patient care, a well trained, professional, and caring staff, doctors who use the latest in technology and go above and beyond to provide superior dental care... look no further. I was misinformed / mislead by Dr. Raanan and his staff on the scope of the treatment plan proposed by Dr. Justin Raanan for which I paid about $8200 on November 30, 2020 for two dental implants. The $8200 only covered the extraction of two infected teeth by Dr. Raanan. On 11/30/2020, I paid Dr. Raanan $8200 for two dental implants. Dr. Raanan extracted two infected teeth on 11/30/2020. On 4/9/2021, I visited Dr. Raanan for the next step in the dental implant process and was informed that the $8200 was just for extracting two teeth. He told me that his fee for each "implant" would be on the order of $4000 each, and that I would need to uses another service provider for the prosthetic tooth work as that was outside his practice. Subsequently, I asked Dr. Raanan for a partial refund of the $8200 paid as I was misinformed on the scope of the "treatment plan" covered by the $8200. Previously, I had two wisdom teeth extracted for about $300 each. Had I known that Dr. Raanan was not capable of doing all the work from extraction to finished replacement tooth, I would not have used him for the two implants. I needed to write a review of the most AMAZING periodontist! Not only did he go to Harvard, and is very knowledgeable and professional, but this guy is also the most caring, kind, warm, gifted, generous guy! I am a total dentophobe, and when I was told after a cleaning I had an infection and needed a cat scan to see what else was going on-I panicked! But thank God he checked everything, because he found that the extracted tooth behind it (which had been pulled 7 years ago) was ALSO infected because they left a chunk of tooth!!! Top this off with me needing cataract surgery and being told by my ophthalmologist that I could go BLIND if I had an active tooth infection during cataract surgery-I feel that Dr Raanan not only helped my tooth-but also my health and vision! I am a senior and underwent a deep cleaning, an extraction of the tooth remnant, a bone graft and gum graft all in ONE afternoon! I felt absolutely no pain, during or after this surgery. The doctor called me several times after the surgery to see how I was doing. Healing was easy, and I never had any pain.. This guy is the BEST!! I LOVE my dentist. Dr. Raanan is the epitome of professional and knowledge in the field of dentistry. So kind and friendly. I've been going to him since 2016. What I like about him and his office is that he always puts me first. His focus is on preventative care so that oral surgery is last resort. But when I did need surgery I was confident I was in the right hands. I believe the school a professional goes to matters greatly. He's a Harvard trained surgeon. But I don't believe that alone makes someone good. He was also super compassionate and understanding of my specific situation. I had my wisdom teeth taken out a few years back and he provided excellent care throughout the whole process- even calling to check in weekly for up to two months! After being told in another state that due to gum disease I needed all of my teeth pulled, I sought a second opinion with Dr Raanan. The difference was extreme. His expertise and detailed discussion made me feel especially comfortable. Not only did I feel like I was being treated like a family member, his advice was the opposite. His goal was to keep my teeth as long as possible and take things slowly. I just recently had my first two implants done and am recovering nicely. He did a tissue and bone graft and called me later in the day to check on me. At my follow-up appointment I was given some ingenious devices, one to protect my teeth and the other a backup device in case my temporary prosthesis were to become loose. I've been here a couple times now and each time has been great so thought it was worthy of a review. I get my teeth cleaned by Heather. I love how she is so detailed just not w/ the teeth cleaning, but the actual process before you even sit down in the chair. My wife got her teeth cleaned before me, but afterwards everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was wiped down and sanitized and new little plastic covers were put over any handles before I sat down. And Heather is just such a sweet, and nice person and makes you feel relaxed even though getting your teeth cleaned is not the most comfortable thing. I've only met Dr. Justin once, but he was also very welcoming and easy to talk to. The office itself is beautiful w/ an amazing view. It does make a difference since I'm usually quite tense when visiting the dentist, but the view just puts you at ease. Highly recommend their services!! read more
