We came in to knock the dust off and we're treated like we were the only ones in there Just a quick one on a Monday...so I guess the rest of town hadn't gotten up yet. Nice bar and server. Thanks for the dram, until we meet again.

Great spot for a drink in town. Good vodka tonics and a good bloody mary with the mix made from scratch. The bartender was nice and friendly. Would def be back if we were in the area again!

Travis was an amazing bartender, friendly and personal. The atmosphere inside is eccentric and full of character with all decor. Beer on top is refreshing and appreciate. Will be back!

Saloons, Frontiersmen, Wild Women & Gold Rush Days! SITREP Now THAT's the history of the J'ville Tavern! Stemming all the way back to Lewis & Clark, and the Gold Rush Days of Oregon (since Gold was exchanged here from local mining operations). THE SETUP Now the Ole J'ville is the centerpiece divebar establishment on the main drag of Jacksonville, OR - on California Street (how fitting) - and today people can sidle on up to the beautiful wood bar and get a shot or whiskey or a nice cool local brew of hard cider. THE MUSIC Bands and duets are always featured here, so at night come on down and listen to some good live tunes, and even dance a bit if your pard'ner is willing. MEMORABILIA & TAXIDERMY The walls & ceiling of this establishment are amazing! From local artifacts, stuffed wild animals to a ceiling full of tacked dollar bills (or larger denominations), there is a lot to look and just stare in amazement at. THE CROWD It always seems to be nice mix of the locals from Jacksonville, Medford and Ashland, but then you get a lot of tourists who are passing through, or just sticking around for a weekend/week like me visiting local friends. THE LOWDOWN Great drinks, fun bands, very cool local vibe, there is something for everyone at J'ville!

Great local tavern in Jacksonville. It is a great place to hang out and have a drink. Bartenders are friendly. Love the sign out front regarding husband day care. Ladies leave your husbands here while you go do some shopping.

Several local breweries on tap, with growlers available.

Sitting as the original tavern in Southern Oregon, this place is a treasure chest of Oregon pride. Not only do they have both the Beavers and Ducks flags flying proudly, they also have other Oregonesque memorabilia, like all of the dead animals. Yes, hunting is a big deal in Oregon. Blech, I did my best to look past all of that because this place really is a gem. They have just about everything you want from a watering hole! I spent my entire life growing up in Southern Oregon, driving past this spot on my way up to Applegate lake or even going across the street to Jacksonville Inn or Bella Brew but just never found my way into J'ville Tavern. Isn't that always the way it works? When you live somewhere, some of the neatest places go unnoticed. I digress, so this joint really does have everything. TVs, slots, pool tables, plenty of seating including a few hi-tops, tables and a long bar. They have several local breweries on tap, house made bloody mary mix and just about any liquor you would expect from a Tavern. They have a section for $4 shots that include various bottles. If you're a smoker, there's a section in the back for you to puff away. They also have several specials which may or may not change depending on the season: Happy Hour 4-6 every day Free Darts, Free Wii Free pool on Sundays And yes, all the dollar bills on the ceiling to charity. The story goes (and forgive me if I get any details wrong) there was a local man with Down Syndrome who was a good friend and well known in the valley. Every year they would use the money from the ceiling to throw him a birthday party. He lived to 75 years old. After he passed, they decided to donate that money to Special Olympics every two years. Pretty awesome story and just speaks to what I love about Southern Oregon.

Since 1935...this place has been serving some nice adult beverages...this is Oregon so you are going to have to leave the kids in the car...hey don't worry I cracked the window...actually I left my wife there too. She is such a great wife to let me hang out and have a few...I know she would love to be in here too...these weird Oregon laws! First I can't pump my own gas and now I can't bring kids into a bar...what is next? My tap beer came in a nicely frosted pint glass...that is a plus...I ordered a Mirror Pond Ale and it was only 3.75 for a pint. What a deal? There are a lot of dead animals mounted on the wall here. My favorite is the mountain lion wearing a Santa hat! Was he wearing that in the wild...no wonder he got shot! There are also bills stuck all over the ceiling ...patrons throw them up there with a tack and a quarter for weight and they stick up there. Best part is the money is all donated to charity. Okay I guess I can look past all the dead animals looking at me. Just a note...winter special...free pool...bonus...I sure wish my wife was here to play a game with me...which reminds me I better get back to the car! Maybe after I order one more!

The burgers were drier than I've ever had and I can take a well done burger. Fries appear to be the frozen coated ones and just not that great. The burger to bun ratio is off IMO. Way too much bread. The building itself is nice but I want good food. I really want to love this place but I'm afraid it's not meant to be.

There were two people behind the bar, a female with blonde hair and tattoos on one arm and a guy wearing a durag. There was a younger guy with dark hair wiping some tables. We waited for someone to approach us. And waited some more. The female was serving people at the bar and came over to talk to the people at the table next to us...then ignored us to go over by the bar to look at her phone. Finally, the younger guy came over to ask us if we wanted menus. Then the female yells..."I've got it"and came over to ask for our drink orders. Our drinks came out and she walked off. We waited a bit for her to come back and take our orders. After at least a 20 minute wait, our food was brought to the table by a different female from the back. It was warm but not hot. The hamburgers are made from frozen pressed burgers. My husband asked for his medium rare and it was well done. The fries were good, so one star for that. My husband enjoyed his beer, another star. Zero stars for the service which was some of the worst we've ever had. This place was pretty empty on a Saturday night during dinner service. I guess we should have taken that as a sign. They are really missing the opportunity to provide great food and customer service. We won't be returning.

The bar was open but only cash. we came with my cousin who was 15 so we left and said next time. Next time came and we go to try and feel the experience. we came after being in the river all day and wanted to unwind. Funny because there are game everywhere so we were going to keep playing. When we got there we had just missed bingo. What a bummer since it looked and sounded so fun. Food: quesabirras western burger Basket of fries basket of onion rings fish and chips fish sandwich crispy fish tacos it was so good and so much flavor. so glad we came back to try the food. drinks: beers soda water for it being a pub it doesn't feel like a bar or anything like that, we came for a family meal and had fun playing all the games and enjoyed all the food.

The menu lists bbq sauce for the western bacon cheeseburger yet it was so dry due to them putting the absolute least amount on as possible. This happened with the Rogue burger as well. Lists mayo on the menu yet nothing was on it. The ranch dressing is clearly watered down to the point that I might as well have come from the faucet... Oh and did I mention the hair we found in one of our burgers. Now don't get me wrong, I understand that restaurant work can be fast and chaotic however we ordered at 4:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. We are the only people in the restaurant portion and 3 patrons sitting in the bar. We were snubbed and upcharged when we asked for lettuce for the incredibly dry burgers. With the marginal service provided and multiple up-charges to the already overpriced dry burgers and 4.00/person to do putt putt, I would not recommend. I mean unless you want a side of human hair with your meal and entertainment.

The ambiance, was classic pub throughout, and we enjoyed this quite a bit having just returned from Ireland few weeks ago. We started with the deep-fried pickles, which were a letdown. They tasted like basic bottled pickle slices lightly dipped in flour with minimal seasoning--nothing special. Dinner didn't improve much. The menu items sound really appealing, but once they arrived, the flavors were bland. We ordered the Irish stew, and the meat was very tough. Tried cutting it in really small pieces so I could chew it, but it wasn't worth the effort. Had a few pieces with gristle and fat. I ended up picking the meat out and just eating the carrots and potatoes. We also tried the famous meatloaf, which was the highlight of the meal. I enjoyed it, though the portion could have been a bit larger. The gravy was tasty, and it came with peas and mashed potatoes. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were great, the dishes lacked flavor and felt overpriced for what was served.
